I could easily tell them apart during Season 35. Pink was door 1. Orange was door 2. Purple was door 3. My favorite was the purple door. :D

No, you couldn't.  All the doors were identical during Season 35.  The color scheme you've described was present from 31-34.

Season 35 was the 'rainbow pinwheel' design, with Goodson marks and stars surrounding a large red "35". The 31–34 design had alternating dark and light blue strips in a "sunburst" pattern around the logo, with the colored stripes you referred to around the edge.

Yes...that is true. My mistake. I must have had a brain fart.

Actually, the 35 was yellow.  The "30 Years" logo was red.

Also, stuff on the Big Doors and turntable should be related to The Price is Right and not CBS.  Besides, let's take the (very unrealistic) possibility that TPIR does go back to GSN or to some other channel.  It wouldn't make sense to have CBS stuff on a show that might not always air on CBS.

Well, during seasons 25 and 26 (and possibly 27, can't remember) they did have the "2x Years on CBS" painted on the doors with a white CBS eye logo on the purple balloon.  I wonder why that wasn't continued for seasons 28 and 29?

Seasons 27-29 didn't have "2x Years" or CBS eye logos on the doors.  I think the reason is that they removed those things from the doors was after the 5,000th show aired and Studio 33 was renamed The Bob Barker Studio, in Season 26.  Evidently they decided it was no longer necessary to mention how long the show has been on the air on a daily basis, save for season premiere weeks, and the network it has been on for that time.

I thought the Season 26 remained there the entire season.  Also, if that was the case, then why was there a 35 for Season 35?  If it was no longer necessary to mention how the long the show has been on the air on a daily basis, then wouldn't that mean there should have been no 35?

For the same reason the "30" was present for the show's 30th year: it was the mark of a huge milestone.  27, 28, 29, 31, etc... are not "milestones."

You took the words right out of my mouth, PIR85.  One thing that baffles me though, is why did the doors on the Season 31 premiere say "31 Years" and retained the 1975 color scheme when, on the second episode of that season, the doors that would last till Season 34 and frames that would last for the rest of the Barker era were introduced.  I am under the impression that there must have been something with the taping schedule for that to happen.

Nothing "happened," but the season premiere was the last show of a taping week, if I remember correctly.

Was there a big gap between the taping of S31 premiere, and the taping second show of S31? Or did they start the taping of the S32 right after S31?

What also confused me was why they kept the "31 years TPIR" logo for the midshow bumper. It always seemed out of place for me. If it was a different logo, I'd say maybe, but this is the same logo than S30, except it said 31 instead of 30, it just seemed odd...

Looking at Scorpz's website, the season premiere was taped on June 20th (a Thursday), and the next shows were taped on June 24th (a Monday), so there wasn't a big gap at all.

I'd like to see the purple, red, orange turntables comeback. I absolutely hated the pink, blue, purple, turntable. Ech! Perhaps make the big doors match the turntables (in color, not pattern) Door one could be purple, door 2 could be an orange color, and door 3 could be red! Those are my thoughts.

that would be a good idea

Was the whole set repainted in just four days? I suppose it wouldn't have been much to attach the glitter covers to the door frames, or attach the Hollywood mural onto the turntable walls, but that just seems a daunting task to get that much changed in 4 days time. Were the starburst doors a separate set of doors or were they the same doors from 1994?
