Actually, if I understand Joe's system, a 'suicide bid' is simply any 'stupid bid' given in the final bidding round, because you're killing off your final chance to get on stage.

EDIT:  ...okay, that doesn't really work on further examination, since there are plenty of 'stupid bids' in the final round that aren't labeled 'suicide'.  But 'suicide bids' still only exist in the final round, so my reasoning seems solid.

No, they will be referred to as "Stupid Bid"s. A "Suicide Bid" is a Stupid Bid committed by one who has been in the Row for at least one previous One-Bid Round.

But now, here for those who aren't already aware of them, is what I call "The Rules of One-Bid Thumb", outlined below with "All Caps" for emphasis...

As established previously in this thread, Every One-Bid Item is priced higher than $400. Therefore...

1. NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER BID UNDER $400 except when YOU are the LAST BIDDER.
2. NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER UNDERBID ANYONE WHO BIDS LESS THAN $400.
3. Unless you're on an MDS or the like, NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER BID OVER $4000. It used to be $3000, then $3500. Trod with care if you go over $3000, though.
4. NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER BID $1 UNDER ANYONE ELSE, FOR ANY REASON.

Follow these simple rules and you won't look like a fool in the Row on national TV.

I sure as heck would.  Every single guess she made had a disc higher than a 7, higher than an 8, or both.

I stand corrected.  I didn't realize that before.   Still, we've seen far worse.

I don't know why there is so much "anti-technical win" discussion here.

Drew explained the game and began to get on with it at a normal pace, and the game play just sorta 'started' before I think anyone could rectify anything.  I don't even know how anyone on the Staff would have been able to predict how the lights were going to function once the game was set into "play" mode (where all lights are supposed to stop chasing).

It's a glitch.  It happens.  It was handled correctly.

The only thing I noticed, and I'm not quite sure how to handle it any better, is that someone who received a prize for a technical win had priority in the SCSD (and SC) over someone who earned a win.  Seemed odd.

Clock Game John,

I was thinking the same thing.  It felt "odd" seeing her in the 2nd spinner position.  Even though the others won their pricing games. It was handled correctly, that is giving the prize for a "game malfunction".  Because those lights confussed me also.

As for the wheel spinner position, my thoughts seems to be your thoughts Clock Game John, in that it was kinda weird even though I knew why it had to happen that way.

This isn't something new, is it?  The clip of the technical win in One Away (see here: http://www.golden-road.net/index.php?topic=7472.0) also resulted in this contestant being placed as the top winner during the SCSD.

No, it's certainly not new - it's just one of those things that finally hit me when watching this episode.

When a game is incorrectly setup making it IMPOSSIBLE for a contestant to win, thus providing a blooper win it might have seemed different than the game malfunctioning.  I dunno.
