CSS Results for September 23
« on: September 23, 2008, 03:53:23 PM »
After a somewhat inauspicious start to the season, day two of CSS is a definite improvement. New season, and new players at the top of the board. Bluesecreen_ODeff pulled the elusive Ludwig move of having the best bid on one showcase combined with the worst garf on the other, but he's still this season's first DSW! gameshowfan1987 beat out everyone else on the Ford F-150.

Trips are always somewhat unpredictable, and with Ashley furniture, bids should have been a little on the low side. Only three overbids and one official garf (being defined as a difference of over $5000), so good work for most. As far as the F-150 truck goes, it's garfed almost every time it shows because I think many people are assuming that it's just a tiny bit more than the Ranger. While the base prices of the two differ by about $3000 and change, TPIR tends to offer the F-150 with more options.

9th place. I'll take that and a 2-day no-OVER streak!

This has been a good start for me, but will it last?

At least I drew the first blood in cu and I's "friendly" rivalry!  :-D

Unless you're me, and thought it equaled mucho $$$$$$$.

Not good for my first game of the season.

People are tired of the f**kery and drama, but if we'd actually talk to each other sometimes instead of a whole bunch of private conversations with other people, it'd go a long way to perhaps fixing the problems most seem to see in the site.

Ditto.

I garfed badly, but that's what I get for basing my bids on the readout in the chatroom without actually seeing the prizes on TV.  My local CBS affiliate had some problems, so I couldn't see the show until the commercial break (naturally).

Worse yet, I would have had a first place finish yesterday, including a win on the trailer with a $70,000 bid, but I was one of the many people who couldn't get into the site due to technical difficulties. ::(

$14,707 / $25,807

I heard "super crew cab" on the truck and I thought "It wouldn't surprise me if this showcase breaks $30,000".  Why didn't I trust my instinct?!

OK, beeyotches--I'll be in chat tomorrow for my first game of S37.
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

$15,600/$36,100... if Armadillo scored, he'll double his lead on me. I can't afford to have him jump out to a big lead again.

I scored, but I'm almost ashamed of it.

$13,500/$28,350

I can't believe I went that low on the truck...I knew it was upper 20's, but went safe and bid mid 20's.

I'm just glad i didn't overbid.  That's my goal this season: to limit my overbids to no more than 5.
I underestimated the truck.  I didn't take into consideration the options.

I'll do better as the season goes on
