Let 'em Roll Question
« on: May 10, 2006, 04:21:29 PM »
My apologies if this has been covered elsewhere (I did check the FAQ), but is it allowable in Let 'em Roll to bank cash cubes, or can you only bank the car sides?

You can only bank the cars that were rolled.  Otherwise, you take whatever amount of money rolled and the game ends.

You know, that would actually be a good thing to add.

Yeah, I never really thought about that before. I do like that idea.

Think about this change---

How about offering an additional prize of $10,000 (or whatever) if a contest. could roll all cars on the first roll?

Nyah.  Any game with a minimum prize of $500 need not be made any easier.

I can't see how that would accomplish anything remotely useful.  Besides, in the seven years they've been playing Let 'em Roll, that's happened twice.

Hey, how about a cookie if they can keep them on the table?  :-)That little plexiglass seems to have stopped the "on the floor" cubes permanently! (lol!)

I don't understand how the game is easier if a prize were to be awarded for achiving 5 of a kind on one spin/roll. ??

Also, I understand it may have happened only twice in the history of game shows, how many double showcase winners have their been compared to the total number of showcases in the 34 year history? But, they still offer the grand prize if you are lucky enough to be within a certain range. How many million dollar winning spins have there been? They still offer.

What the hell, if someone is lucky enough to roll 5 cars at once, why not give the contestant some extra prize? They do the same for other games/showcases on the show. That was my question.

The difference is that in LeR, it's pure luck to nail 5 cars on the first roll, while in the showcases, there's skill (theoretically, at least) in getting within $250.

$10,000 is way too high of a bonus for doing that.  Infact, anything other than $0 is probably too high.  It's all luck.  Getting 5 cars on the first roll when half of the sides are car cubes is not the most impossible thing to do in the world.

Agreed.. If there was one car spot on each cube, maybe.. But 3 on each cube? Not quite as difficult...

No, I see no need for a bonus myself.

You know what's even worse about this ungodly huge $10,000 bonus?  That a contestant who got all the grocery products wrong would be equally likely to win it as a contestant who got all the groceries right.  Yes, this bonus is a wonderful idea .

Exactly.. It's enough of a worry that a contestant could tank both grocery items (unlikely, with the way they're usually setup, but you never know), and win the car in that one roll.. But the car AND $10,000? Too much.

Sorry.

Not to mention the fact that you're already playing for A CAR!!! What the heck do you need ANY sort of bonus for?! Winning a car isn't exciting enough?!
