That's a little too much, "Hey, look at me" for my liking.

That's how I am beginning to feel...that his entrances are becoming  a smug "aren't I funny and cute" type of thing.  I wish he would go back to his regular smash entrance of walking out happily to the excited audience and accepting thier applause.

Amen to that. Drew can be funny, but he also needs to remember to have a sense of professionalism that goes along with hosting the show.

I loved Drew's entrance. I personally don't mind him varying his entrances from show to show. Reminds me of Gene Rayburn's entrances on MG. In any case, I think the more humor he can inject into a show, the better host he is. I found his energy much higher than usual. I also don't mind the dancing at all.

I'm not sure why Susan felt the need to poll the audience for which number to pick for Pass the Buck.  It annoys me when contestants do this.  As if they have any better idea what number the car is underneath.  No need to poll the audience like that for random luck games.  I mean, the first part isn't random luck, but the picking of the numbers is.

I'm going to disagree with the group here—I liked Drew's entrance today. As long as they're not way, way over the top, varied entrances are fine with me.

Anyone notice that the Switcheroo contestant didn't even bother to change one of the prizes on the second go-round? I think it was the car, even...

I don't really mind the Daktronics scoreboard in terms of looks, but it needed to be a bit brighter to avoid getting washed out by the studio lights. The wheel itself was horrid, though. Someone in chat floated the idea that the beeps are so far off-timed because someone had to manually dub them in.

Quote from: Nick
You don't even need the most impressive zoom detail to see that the pointer moves ever so slightly past the peg on 45¢ to 70¢ while still resting on the peg.

That wouldn't be the first time that's happened.  On a Bob episode from several years ago, that actually cost a player a $1.00 score, since it was counted as being on the previous space since the arrow had not flipped off the peg.  Yet.  Though several seconds later, while Bob was telling the person who won s/he'd be in the showcase, the wheel flipped completely onto the next number.  That was never mentioned.

Drew's special entrances had been getting annoying, but I found this one to be hilarious. He pulled it off well enough to fool me for a second or two.

I too thought the Vegas Wheel looked very knock-offish. The weird beeping, look of the numbers and the scoreboard just set me off.

I don't care what anyone says, Drew's entrance today was THE best entrance in the history of TPiR. There, I said it.
Signatures are overrated.

The Vegas wheel wasn't that bad. It just looks smaller but other then that it works i hate the new design on the old wheel

And Drew entrances is strange but by him being a comedian hes trying to make the show more funnier

The sad part, reading through most of these posts, is that more people care more about how Drew comes through the doors rather than on the contestants and the gameplay itself. What's this show become? The Drew Carey Show? Sad.

So I guess I'm not allowed to defend his entrance when everyone's talking about it.

I didn't say that. I just said it seems like everyone's more focused on how Drew comes through the big doors each day rather than on the contestants and gameplay. It just seems to me a lot of people are more concerned about that than the actual show itself.

The show wasn't really that eventful, with the exception of the Vegas wheel.

The new entrances don't really bother me--this one was pretty funny. Now, Drew just needs to do a turntable entrance, lol :P

Switcheroo - OUCH. Painful play, with not even one SP one!

Make Your Move - Was this game severely reduced during the budget crunch of March-May '08? I didn't see it much then, and am happy to see it twice in the season already. Pretty easy win.

The Vegas Wheel - I liked the smooth way the digits looked, especially in HD. Sure, the "beeper" was off, but that's no huge big.

Pass the Buck - Here's where I criticize Drew's performance--something I don't do very often. He just muttered "$1000" and didn't seem happy for that at all, at least that was my impression. On the other hand, great to see this played again.

Showcases - Fine today, and cool to see Lauren win. Lol, I guess her boyfriend (?) wanted to learn how to dance too--seeing how he held up the frame and all. :P

To be honest, I can see TPIR switching to an LED display (for the Big Wheel) in the near future to conserve energy.

I thought the Big Wheel display was a LED display. :-?
