Anyone have older episodes on tape and know what the run time before commercials was then?

A minimum of 44 minutes of show, maximum 16 minutes of commercials. The FCC actually used to regulate the amount of commercial time that could be broadcast during a half-hour.

I beleive there once was a limit of 3 minutes of advertising per half an hour show back when the FCC had a say over it.

I believe daytime was 6 minutes per half hour.  Wow...that would mean 48 minutes of Price Is Right!

Oh...the good ol' days!

It was great to see Rich in a showcase, but that one was not quite what I was expecting.  The humor felt a kind of forced for me, but I guess it wasn't that bad overall.

Uh, Sharon... you kind of mixed up South Carolina with North Carolina in your shoutouts. Gardner-Webb is here, not in our Palmetto neighbor to the south. :P

I was trying to think of something to say about the first showcase, but I really have no words. Seriously... what the heck is happening to this show?

BEST CONTESTANT OF THE DAY: Sharon
SHOW GRADE: 2

Rich gets to announce AND act in one of THE best Showcases I've seen in a lonnnnnnngggggg time.  I swear I could hear our Fieldsy screaming with glee from my apartment.  Let's see more Showcases like this!
Let's not.

There's been a lot of badly written showcases lately.  Today's first showcase was not one of them.  The whole thing was carried off beautifully,
I'm quite surprised... I figured you would be along with me in hating it. It just seemed uncharacteristic of the show.

Push Over: $16,175 was so obvious. Great Win.

Hole: Tough loss and tough grocery product choices

Danger: I thought the shoes would've been $512. Tough loss.

Squeeze: another tough setup. Tough loss

Cover: My first guess was $16,210. That's a nice car BTW. I didnt think it would be $19,000+

1RP: I had a feeling the TV would be more than the clock. As soon as the model had the price in hand, I said, TV.

SC with Rich on cam: LMAO.
HAPPY 52ND SEASON, PRICE!!!

This hasn't been brought up in this thread, but I'm wondering if all the way around (for the bonus spin) means simply going back to the space it started on regardless of where it was on that particular space when it started or does it have to go past the original starting point on the space...

Just to that particular space. The spin could've started at the very top of the nickel, and made it back around to only the bottom of the nickel, but that still counts as a complete spin. Among other things, it's too difficult to split hairs on exactly where the wheel started from in a particular space. That'd be too much of a distraction from the more important things in the showcase showdown...the contestants and their reactions.
