"Grand Game" strategy
« on: October 15, 2008, 01:20:32 PM »
I tried this at home and usually the worst that will happen is I'll get 100 fake dollars unless I risk the 1,000 to go for the win...

3/6 products are always obviously lower than the target price without even thinking about it so select them in this order...

1) Obvious under
2) Obvious under
3) The one you have doubts about. If you get it wrong, you'll salvage $100.
4) Obvious under for the win!

IMO save the cheapest item for last to all but cinch the win if you can get past #3. Let me know if there are any pros and cons of this strategy.

I'd go with the obvious ones. Then if I have $1000 and I am stuck between the hard ones, I'd take the money, no matter how much the crowd boos me

Actually, I think that picking the trickiest one third is a good strategy.  Get two obvious ones out of the way, then pick the one you're iffy about, then go with the last obvious one for the win.  This way, if the item you're unsure about is indeed incorrect, you'll still win $100 instead of $0.

Of course, there's always the fact that the GPs can be totally random sometimes...but this strategy should work most of the time. :D

People are tired of the f**kery and drama, but if we'd actually talk to each other sometimes instead of a whole bunch of private conversations with other people, it'd go a long way to perhaps fixing the problems most seem to see in the site.
