We just gotta go thru a transition period here. One day it'll all make sense. We should have all this straightened out by September '09. Let's all imagine Season 38.

A transition to what though? I think it makes perfect sense already. Many of the changes are needless, senseless, and just aren't working. With season 37 on a steady downhill slide, I'm not sure I want to think about 38 quite yet.

Decent show today. Drew seemed in fairly good spirits, didn't really bungle the rules of any games or mumble too much, and I didn't have any any "eye-rolling" moments while watching, so, that's a good sign.

Did anyone notice that they were playing the main theme coming back from commercial before revealing the showcase prices? Honestly, if they're going to play some music during those, I think playing the main theme is the best choice.

Speaking of which, did anyone else notice that the audience's volume seemed to be toned down during the end credits so you could hear the drummer better?

Stacky:  I can't believe they actually played this game first.  Tough GPs, tough car price... there was really no way this car was gonna be won today.  Of course, Kandace didn't help herself any when she took the first number as her freebie.

One-Bid #3:  Wow... a male model for the first time since... what, the 1970s?  Not just a model, but a professional drummer.

SCSD #1:  No way!  Two $26,000 winners in one week!

Any:  Wow, the Cobalts have sure gone up in price this year.

Secret:  Love the full shot of the board and prize podiums.  Wow, that faucet was actually over $200.  When was the last time we had an SP over $200?

SC #2:  That showcase was just dumb.

My showcase bids:
Room/cruise--$16,107
Boat--$28,607
Well, this week was supposed to be a return to normalcy, but that's clearly not allowed.  Since you feel there is no need for this week's FPG to continue, I feel there is no need to continue as an FPG host or a G-R.net member.  Since most people are so desperate to push me out of here, why delay it?  I would have preferred that everybody publicly admitted it rather than string me along for the last two days, but it is what it is.  I am hereby resigning as FPG host and moderator, effective immediately.  whammy007 is the new permanent host.  No R-rated rant or airing of grievances from me.  Just a polite "goodbye for good".

Don't forget about the male model that appeared in a showcase on November 16, 1992.

I wish Stan would revive the 1994 furniture cue that has been MIA since Season 30 and the cue played for Clock Game on the 2/22/08 MDS and its variants, which were largely retired by 2003 at the latest.

That suite of cues is the only one in the 1994 package that I love. The second GP cue during STD that I mentioned is also a favorite of mine.

STD: FIRST??!!! :-o :-o :-o Now car and cash games coming up first may get a little tiresome after while. Seeing this in the first position is just unbelivably insane. Kandace may not be familar with that Gold Bond lotion or the Os-Cal supplement and seeing her waste her only free guess on the first digit was the BIG downfall.  :headbang:

Check: Seeing the live audience shot on the TV was a neat thing but Alex went a bit overboard writing his check for over $5K.

OWP: It was a tough call in this one. I probably would've also chose the Popcorn cart.

SCSD #1: Once again....

"TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS"

Kandace made up for the STD disaster in a big way.  :-) :-D

Any #: I just had a hunch that the other 1 would be it for a Chevy Cavalier over $18K. Alyssa's reaction to it all (along with the $25K win) was pretty much the saving graces of this show.

Push: I didn't see that $7842 coming at all. I was kinda' expecting $4295. Good job.

Secret: The view of the entire set looked kinda slooppy while the view of the board was no better. Too bad.

Showcases: The 1st showcase felt so good to watch.

A 2.25-star show.

Check Game: I guessed $3225 for the price of the TV and would have been under the target area.
...
Showcase 1: I really didn’t like how they mentioned “Kandace” since it was possible (and it did happen) that Candice wouldn’t have bid on it.  Also, it sounded like Laura wanted to change her bid to $21,200.
Fixed my previous post.  I realized I left some _____s in my original post.  I couldn't remember the name of the item/contestant, so I left ______s to remind me to look them up but I forgot to do it before posting.

Tar Heel in the front row! Eat that, Armadillo. :P

That was pretty much the worst playing in the history of Stack the Deck. Very agonizing to watch.

BEST CONTESTANT OF THE DAY: Kandace, despite her lack of ability to play Stack the Deck
SHOW GRADE: 2

Okay, so America has picked the one who modeled $28,138 on October 21, the second highest among the finalists.  I guess dollars really don't matter.  I guess A man, a can, a plan...da really pays off.
