I wonder how far Syd, Mike and Drew will continue getting their free pass from some people.

Make Your Mark retired?

3 Strikes retired?

Pathfinder retired?

Where does this all stop?

Wow.  Now I'm really pissed.

Will Syd and Mike stop at nothing to remove every trace of the Goodson/Barker eras from the show?  Yes, yes, yes...this is undoubtedly the Drew Carey era, but a lot of the things that these two idiots are removing are killing the show.  Lightbox?  Okay, it was a flashing light border...but it had been there for a long time, and it SCREAMED "The Price is Right."  What about the original Score Productions music that STILL FITS THE SHOW?  That's disappearing more and more each day.

Now they have went and axed two of the show's best games: Buy or Sell and Barker's Bargain Bar.  I can understand (albeit a very small understanding) why they would retire Buy or Sell, but what I can't understand is why the hell they would even THINK of retiring Barker's Bargain Bar.  Joe Plinko seemed to understand it, so it couldn't have been the format.  The only reason I could see for the retirement of BBB is one that's already been proposed - the reference to Bob.

I'll tell you one thing Syd, Mike, and even Drew (although I don't think this one is Drew's fault): you may get rid of Bob in the names of the games.  You may retire games that have references to Bob.  Hell, you can even try to remove Bob's name from the opening of the show - which I might add has already been attempted, as we know - but you will NEVER - and I mean NEVER - erase my mind of Bob and make me believe that the crapola you're passing off every day at 11 AM is anything CLOSE to being The Price is Right.  Take a lesson from the demographic you're trying to target, Fremantle: we want you to STOP randomly retiring games because of the jealousy in your heads that you never could create something as great.

If this is the "new direction" that was supposed to be enjoyed by new viewers and LFATs alike, someone has taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque.  That's for damn sure.

You know, (and this is really odd to me), when I saw Switch? today, I thought it may be BBB. When it wasn't, I said to myself, I bet it's retired. It's too bad really. I wonder what other surprises we have to look forward to. You know the way they are going, you'd think the staff would come up with some new games quick, since they are canning all the current ones for no good reason.

I have a one question to ask...

Can somebody fire Syd and bring Roger back? (Hey, even Drew will be a lot better with Roger at the helm)

In a meanwhile...

I've been pretty ok with most of the changes thus far, but Buy or Sell and BBB were 2 of my favorite games.

Time to bust this out:

Dear Price Is Right,

Thur-out the years you have made me a very happy kid and teen but, I'm very disappointed in the show has been going. I as well as many other fans of the show are tired of the "NEW" types of Showcases as well as the retirement of Buy or Sell and Barker's Bargain Bar. I really was hoping for a great season this year being Drew's 2nd year on the show BUT, I'm really disappointed in the way he is acting on the show as well as him writing the SHOWCASES. The original showcases that were in season 36 as well as the late Barker era were really Great and I think a Lot of us are tired of these new showcases. Grant it, some of them are good.

The next BIG think that jerks my chain is the retirement of Buy or Sell and Barker's Bargain Bar. Barker's Bargain Bar is not only a Monument to Bob Barker but as well as to Mr. Goodson! If here were here today he would say "What Have You Done TO MY SHOW?!" I think you should think about How Mr. Goodson Would Run the show as Well as What you need to do to mark the show great AGAIN.

I Guess that you think that I'm done, WRONG! The MOST HORRIBLE decision that has been made since the end of SEASON 36 is The Firing of Roger Dobkowitz!!! If Roger was on the show still then I Probably would not be writing this letter to you. If Roger was still there then the show would be Fun And Enjoyable for me and probably all of your other viewers. This slapstick Comedy that is on the show now is Horrendous!

Now most of this letter is about how the show is going down the tubes BUT, there are good things from the show. The special for the Armed Forces Was AWESOME as Well As Gas Money after that, NOTHING.

I hope for your sake as well as the Show's Sake you take some thought to what I've writen as well as listening to the other people that might write in to you about the show. Oh a little note to DREW.

Drew you are a great guy and your cool but, You need to think as your self as a contestant who just knows all the rules and is just helping out the contestant to win there Prize. Your not the center of attention on the show, the Contestants are. Just take that to heart.

Oh one last thing before I finish, you need to go to www.golden-road.net . You should see what a big fan base you have as well as what they think. Hope you have a great rest of the day.

I hope you didn't send that yet.  It needs a lot of editing if you want your letter to have any credibility.

I don't.  I don't want any more surprises.  I don't want any more games retired for no reason.  I don't want the show to be slowly stripped away while we watch, basically helpless.

I see where this is heading.  Who needs quickies when you only play 4 pricing games?

I hear you on that. How can this be happening to a show that has been on the air and gained credibility for three and a half decades?  Crying

Barkers Bargain Bar was a real good game.   I felt it added a lot to the show's collection of games.   All they had to do (if they want us to forget about Bob) was to take his name off.

A sad day in TPIR history. Before you know it, they will retire the MRRRRPPP (bass) buzzer, make the BZZZZZ! (tenor) buzzer take precedence. And replace the OVER buzzer in the showcase with the Pathfinder buzzer. While still an enjoyable show, the behind the scenes stuff is becoming unbearable. Who are the focus groups they listen to?Huh?
