What Sports do you follow? Who do you root for in those Sports?
« on: December 07, 2008, 01:04:58 AM »
For me, I follow soccer, baseball, football, hockey, and basketball. I root for Manchester United (among others), Yankees and Mets, Giants (with lots of other teams), Rangers along with the Habs (among others), and the Celtics. I root for far too many teams for my own good as you can see, but, regardless...

What about you?

Mostly, Hockey. Because of it's fast pace action, and being a NY Rangers fan as long, that I can remember.

I've always loved baseball and football (especially baseball).

I used to be a Baltimore Oriole fan when Cal Ripken, Jr. was playing, but I really have no reason to root for them anymore and I think Peter Angelos is a terrible owner. I've more or less become a Seattle Mariner fan because I live in the Seattle area, but I've got a soft spot in my heart for the Toronto Blue Jays. I am a huge fan of Cito Gaston's and I'm very happy he's gotten another chance to manage a Major League club. The Jays had a much better record after he took over in 2008.

For football, I an a Seahawks fan through and through (even this year). I sincerely believe this year is a fluke; Injuries are partly to blame, certainly at the wide reciever position, but the defense hasn't been playing very well, either. First round draft pick Lawrence Jackson (defensive end from UCLA) lost his starting job, but I'm not ready to call him a bust yet. He is a rookie, after all. The secondary has also sucked. 2nd cornerbacks Kelly Jennings/Josh Wilson have struggled as opposing quarterbacks have picked on them to avoid throwing to Marcus Trufant. As a result, Trufant has only one interception this season. Next year will be brighter and playing in the ultra-weak NFC West helps the Seahawks chances next season.

I also keep an eye on college football, although not as much as the NFL or MLB; I root for Boise State.

Hockey, obviously.  Especially college hockey.  Most of you all already knew that. :D

I love baseball as well, and I follow that in the summer.

Teams:
College hockey: Clarkson Golden Knights (hence my signature)
NHL: Detroit Red Wings
MLB: New York Yankees

I like baseball, football, & basketball.  My favorite teams are the Cubs, Bears, and Florida Gators (who will be playing for the BCS championship!)  I also follow the Lakers, but I very rarely watch any NBA games.  I've liked them ever since I saw Airplane! and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was the copilot.

NFL - Philadelphia Eagles
NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
MLB - Philadelphia Phillies (2008 WORLD CHAMPS!!!  :-D)
NCAA - Penn State Nittany Lions (2008 Big Ten Football Champs!)

My favorite sport has got to be college football. It is the most exciting to me, and the fact that I go to about 3 PSU games a yar helps...:D

Although the cubs should have gone to the WS if they wouldn't have tightened up and choked in the playoffs.

This is one I forgot to put. I am a Nittany Lion fan, too. What a year, proving everyone wrong! If only Iowa hadn't...

Oh well.

I'm so looking forward to the Rose Bowl. PSU vs. USC is a matchup I've been wanting to see for years.

NASCAR - Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr, and anyone who wrecks Kyle Busch.
NCAA Football - Coastal Carolina Chanticleers
