Some very interesting thoughts on that blog,

While I don't agree with everything that was said, there were some other points that were spot on.

I find it hilarious that all this is coming from the same guy who said "TPIR will be just fine, so don't worry about it!"

Somehow the format worked for 35 years without a problem. I also see people wearing shirts about the new host, so I doubt its troubles have anything to do with the audience not being enough in love with the new host. I think it has everything to do with the new host's competence at hosting the show.

No one is being banned.  They're simply being moved far enough away from the stage that there will be no chance that a contestant will ever be able to hear them.  Which still sucks something fierce, if you ask me.

Or see them for that matter, which I think is the more important thing here. I guarantee nobody can filter one voice out of 325. (incidentally, as I suggested on Buzzerblog, an easy way to prevent this type of thing is to dim the audience lights during pricing games & the showcases).

And Voltaire was threatened by Roger with the banhammer last season if he didn't follow their guidelines, so being banned from the studio is not outside the realm of possibility.

Do we know if it's the EP's decision to do these things? I thought it'd be in another branch of the show or even CBS in general, not exclusively the EP.

Here you go:

Quote from: Voltron291
Roger then told me that because of these reasons, they would have to subject me to certain terms and conditions if I wanted to continue to attend tapings.  He told me that because of these two reasons that if I wanted to continue to attend tapings that I would have to refrain from talking to people in line even outside of the studio (because I could talk to audience members I meet about prices in the line).  The pages outside would watch to see if I was talking to anyone in line to check and make sure of that.  In addition, I would also have to sit in the back so I couldn’t be seen on camera too.  If I did not comply with these terms and conditions, I would be asked to leave the lot and not be allowed back.

I thought exactly the same thing when I read it.  I hate to say that the article did make some very good points although obviously not everyone who appears on the show is an internet user, not everyone finds out who to specifically looks to in the audience, or is lucky enough to speak to someone who knows all the prices in line.

If I read this and all it says is "the fanb01s killed the show by doing nothing worse than paying attention," I will swallow a sword.

EDIT: Yep, rants against people who pay attention, against people who think Bob Barker was a good game show host, against a format that the man has openly admitted he strongly dislikes---tempered only by "oh and by the way, Drew could have faked it a little more."

Excuse me while I go find a suit of armor to grab a blade from.

There's a rather large difference between "paying attention" and yelling out memorized prices to contestants onstage.
