It's not much off topic, but it's very far down the line. They haven't finished taping S37, they haven't started thinking about S38 ... Unless you made a typo?

Actually yes that was a typo.  I am getting ahead of myself.

DiPirro's direction on Gameshow Marathon wasn't terribly impressive, but I'll say the same thing I've said before to those who have said Todd Newton would be a terrible host because of his performance on other shows: these people mostly do what they're instructed to do by their bosses.  It's no secret that much of Bart's dullish direction came about at the behest of Bob.  Bart sucked up in a manner that Paul wouldn't.  You can fault Bart for that, but if he hadn't obeyed, someone else would have been brought in to do it.  Once Bob left the show, Bart got somewhat more creative.

As far as the whole issue of who is the "executive producer," that's entirely irrelevant.  It is effectively an honorary title.  It's only an indication of power to the extent that the person who is named the EP has enough clout to demand the title.  If someone chooses not to demand it for whatever reason, they can still wield the power.

All of todd newtons bosses must have instructed him to be annoying, tacky, and over-the-top on every show he's hosted.

So what has this Richard Brian DiPirro done for us lately?

THE GOOD: Primetime Deal or No Deal, 1 vs 100, Beat the Geeks, Street Smarts.

THE GUILTY PLEASURE: Distraction.

THE NOT SO GOOD: Set For Life.

THE DOWNRIGHT UGLY: Card Sharks '01.

So, he's got plenty of game show experience beyond GS Marathon. Let's see what he brings to the party this time.

THE GOOD/THE GUILTY PLEASURE/THE NOT SO GOOD/THE DOWNRIGHT UGLY
Are these your opinions of the actual show content/quality or your opinion of his directing style on the specific shows?

My view of the shows themselves, not so much his direction of same. He doesn't have any control over the general game itself, but how he handles it is another matter, and I think he did just fine.

Did I miss the post that said DiPirro was selected to be the new director or is this just aimless speculation?

Pretty soon someone here will take it as the truth and throw it up on Wikipedia.

I Wish Bart Many Of Success on wherever he goes...

Now Golden Road.net- Can we confirm if Bart will just retire, or will he find another position directing somewhere elese?

Will Fred Witten Assume the role of director for the remainder of the season, or will they just bring in a new director?

And if so will this director be from another CBS Show or Fremantle Show?

Its all speculation right now. No one has even confirmed the director has indeed been fired yet.

This is not a surprise to me.  Having worked for Bart for many years and from working at the show I can say that he was not the director that others may have been but he knew how to keep the show "live."  HAving worked in 33 both under Barker and Drew I can say that Drew is a strange guy.  I am sure that after Bart and Roger and several of us behind the scenes there are more people there that will be gone soon.  I spoke to several of my friends who still work Price last night and they agree that Drew probably had something to do with it because he was often annoyed by Bart.  Everyone's biggest concern right now is that this is going to mean longer days I'm sure.

Ok, you can't leave things at that. What does "strange" mean? It's this kind of statement that people take and run with, creating rumours and gossip. If you have specific examples, you should back up your statement.
