Now is today.  Then is March 17, 1998.  Far as I know, today is only the second time in Price is Right history One Away started an episode!  I wonder if today's playing replaced Golden Road, especially considering the lineup for today's show seemed pretty quick.  And considering there's no way anyone could have seen yesterday's double showcase win coming.  There's a good chance the March 17, 1998 playing replaced Three Strikes, I'd bet, too.

I don't care what the reason is, though:  it turned to our advantage here!  I mean, come on:  One Away first is just so much cooler than seeing Golden Road again!  Seriously!  I mean, Roger could've easily put something like Card Game or Cover Up first, but instead, he gave us all a present, so yay!  Christine played fairly well:  guessing $22,000 was an understandable mistake, and there were only two reasonable possibilities for her second guess.  She just happened to pick the wrong one.  Could've easily been either 645 or 425, really.  I loved her reactions though, and her semi-insanity with asking how many numbers she had right (http://www.angelfire.com/la3/goldenroad15/misc/smile1.txt)!

And I'm pretty sure Bob got the Race Game record right:  $16,393 in prizes!  Has Race Game ever even broken even $10,000 before?  Is $16,393 even more than the Million Dollar Spectacular had in trips?  Just wow!

As it is, I'm amazed Brenda won Race Game in one try!  I just don't see how any normal person could have possibly ever dreamed the refrigerator could've been the most expensive prize there!  She wasn't the fastest sprinter ever, but I don't really care:  she knew exactly what she was doing.

And this was Roger's show!  Roger sure got a lot of attention here, especially with Brenda.  Considering how she played Race Game, and she kept going over to hug Roger, I'd wager she knew who he was!  And goodie seeing Fingers get a shot in Grand Game too!

Speaking of contestants playing their game remarkably well, how about that Ben?  He said he was a fan who watches all the time, and the way he played Two for the Price of One, I believe it!  He wisely picked the second number--the only somewhat tricky number--and he knew instantly that the price had to be $830, and of course it was!

And speaking of contestants being very on the ball, Michael!  Ignoring the extremely tempting 95, picking the somewhat tempting, though usually ignored 35, and actually picking the very ugly-looking 44!  Very impressive, especially since ending a price in 44 usually makes it look wrong, even if it is right.

I don't really blame Leah for losing Grand Game.  The squeegee looks like it could go either way, even if we all knew better, and the cat food certainly looks expensive.  Figured it had to be the $1.59 or $3.99 bag, though.

I'd have won Squeeze Play, simply because 4 tends to be the hundreds digit in these sorts of prices more often than 8 is.  Not the sort of thing most people would have probably noticed, though.

heels, I'll grant you that Miranda was quite pretty.  Be happy I agree with you with even one today.

I've inferred that $13,283 was the total of the four trips.

If yesterday's Price was great because of its epic value, this one was great because of its quirks.  First off, Roger and Fingers got more facetime in one show than they've had in entire years.  Then there was the whole deal of CAD vs USD, and the 50+50 in the SCSD.

And then there's Race Game, definitely the most impressive win of the day.  However, to me, it wasn't because of speed or prize value, but that it was actually won at all.  With that fridge being $6,000+, I would've thought that it would've been nigh impossible for the Joe or Jane Plinkos of the world to even have a shot at winning.  To that end, I'm totally ready to blame that win on Game Show Marathon ^^;

In fact, all three wins were impressive.  2F1 was a textbook example of a winning gameplan, and Money Game proves that the Dob can't fool them anymore.

Whoa!! Crazy lineup today, and I mean that in a good way.

One Away: I was thinking Pocket Change here. I agree,Frank it definitely was cool seeing this first-it has been a long time since it has been first. Too bad Christine lost-she was a great contestant.

Grand Game: Argh, the evil Cat food strikes again. I knew the cat food was lower than $5 but to the average fan it sure looks more expensive than it really is. I loved Bob's chat with Roger and Fingers before the game.

Race Game: Wow!! Both for the prizes offered and for getting all 4 right the first time. Great job, Brenda.

SCSD#1-The Dob is Brenda's new best friend. I loved Bob's rant about how Brenda went over to Roger and not him, hillarious.

Squeeze Play: This was a crapshoot for myself.

Money Game: Great playing here by Michael. How many contestant's would have chosen 44 and rather gone with the 35 or 50?

2 for the Price of 1: LFAT Ben made this one look easy. Great playing.

Showcases: I was glad to see Christine win after losing OA.

Good show today, of course it didn't top yesterday, but then again what will?

Brenda hauled butt to win the Race Game. That's just the way it should be. Was it Hug Dob day? Seemed like it. Even at the very end.

The race game was the highest of 16,000 that it ever was so far. And $6,000 for a refrigerator? that's a new one!!! But she did it with ease and with 28 seconds to spare!!!

Bidding Round #1- #1, Leah (http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/6720/1leah91906hq7.jpg)! It took a day, but the first hottie of the season is finally here! :-D

One Away- What the heck is this game doing first, and why the heck was there an audience entrance for it? Apparently, Roger was still delirious after yesterday's show. :-)

Grand Game- Poor Leah. She gets screwed by an audience who never knows what the heck they're talking about (unless our people are there, in which case, you can't go wrong).

Race Game- Wow, what a win. This has been a pretty good followup to yesterday's big show so far.

Showcase Showdown #1- Besides taking down Leah, the Big Wheel's been pretty generous so far this season. What a refreshing change.

Bidding Round #4- #2, Tristin (http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/7210/2tristin91906pk5.jpg)! :-D

Bidding Round #5- #3, Miranda (http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/1943/3miranda91906ys0.jpg)! Nice, a three-hottie day! :-D

Showcase- Bad overbid on the boat. I guess he thought it was a Reinell. ;-)

BEST CONTESTANT OF THE DAY- Brenda.

SHOW SUMMARY AND GRADE- Great start to the show, but it got quiet in the second half. Still... Grade: 3

A good, high energy show today, with a cameo appearance by "Fingers" Greco and many, many shots of Roger! I wonder if they might be trying to go back to the old days just a little by giving us a couple seconds of the production staff. My only question then is: Where's Rich?! I wish they'd cut to him during a "Come on down!" announcement like they used to with Rod, with the split screen. Oh well.

One Away first with an audience entrance?! I think that qualifies for a BIG "CSTD!" :-D

When I saw Brenda get up on stage for Race Game, I was a bit dismayed. She's a somewhat larger woman (though not huge by any account) and she looked indecisive. But damn did she play that thing and get an EXACTA in 15 seconds! $16,393 in prizes for Race Game too... quite a haul for a quarter minute!

The showcases were predictably less spectacular, furniture, sailboat (this one should NOT be random anymore, we've seen it several times), but it didn't stop it from being a very solid show, even considering yesterday's season premiere which would make anything pale in comparison.

Don't forget that we saw the production lineup board at the time Brenda hugged Roger! In fact, I saw the phrase "Money Game" on lineup, and I saw the word starting with an 'S' but expected Switch to be played. In other words, I was spoiled! :-(

As for the lineup, that was TOO quick! Roger, thanks for the lineup, because there were too much ads and boredom during TV breaks; so consider it next time!

Joe, CBS claimed this was taped in June or July. If it is, why were we seeing yesterday's DSW win? Maybe it's some kind of graphic here.

Anyway, I expected Golden Road since Bob entered from the audience entrance. But what a surprise! We're watching One Away played well, but I think we saw an average playing already no matter the results in two tries (i.e. surveying an audience, trying to get everything right in first try, etc.). However, I was hoping she could get ONLY one digit right, so she had better odds of winning. Oh well.

Woohoo! Grand Game! However, aside from the great playing from the female "Canadian" (or maybe not), I got a feeling that a squeegee leads to a loss, and that's the result. Damn you audience for your cheers and jeers!

Holy ! Race Game won in ONLY one try and about 15 sec!!! although I got a good feeling of these decisions. $6k+ refridgerator? Okay! At least this contestant is forgiven for past bids, mainly caused by audiences.

Woohoo! 2 $1,000 winners here! But I wanted Brenda to win. Oh well.

As for the second half, who cares, right? That's the downfall of today's show. But let's make few mentions:

* Squeeze Play. That starts with an "s". And I don't care. A contestant who loves whooing and chose audience's decision + a dull classic = Perfect match

* Money Game, as I already knew it's coming thanks to a camera shoot. Anyway, good win, but the playing is expected from my mind, and be careful next time, cameraperson!

* 2 for 1 - YES!!! "Big Ben" (thanks, Bob) NEVER looks at an audience, and that's a result! Worst part is that audience went silent when he picked the second digit, but he showed them!

Ben, Ben, "Big Ben"! Why spinning again? You had a chance to beat that "sailor" (if he really is).

Showcases - Average, but the second SC theme rocked. So was the first showcase music cue. This Japanese-woman dressup reminds me of dancing Holly dressing up as a Spanish dancer before Give or Keep was played. And I knew these bids are predictable.

Overall, an average show nearly ruined by audience, but some moments make up for averageness. And thanks for an attention, Mr. Dob!

EDIT: Oops, I made a mistake! This was taped on Labor's Day, not June or July. I bet we'll see June or July tapings in next week or so.

I for one very much enjoyed Roger and Fingers being on camera so much. and Yay for brenda !!.. What was with that  Money Game price?  a 44 at the end WITH the ubiquitous 35 as a CSTD perhaps on the board?  :)

1A: Score one for the Dob!  Tricky playing here.

Race Game: Wow, not sure what's more amazing here: The fact that it was played for 4 rather nice prizes, or the fact that it was won so quickly.

$ Game: Nice win.  I don't think anyone would've gone with 44, but Michael did and was rewarded.

2 for 1: Another nice win, by a LFAT.

Overall: Not nearly as exciting as yesterday, but that was to be expected considering what today's ep had to follow.

One Away-A real treat to have this game played first!  I thought that Mustang was $20,645 also; I was proven wrong.

Grand Game-When she settled on the squeegee, I knew she lost.  Great to see Fingers and Roger!

Race Game-Brenda was a hilarious contesant the way she hugged Roger, and the rest of the slate was revealed.

SCSD #1-If Brenda hit the dollar in her bonus spin, Roger would have headed for the hospital!

Squeeze Play-Pretty tough here.  I could not decide between the 8 or the 4

Money Game-Well, I was not expecting 44 to be the back of the car!

2 For the Price of 1-Well, the total prize package is at a low today.  It was easy; 4 could not have been the first number in the price.  Six could not have been the last number in the price.

SCSD #2-Interesting how William managed to stay in the lead with 20 cents until Michael hit 45 cents.

Showcases-When Michael bid $29,550, I knew he lost.  It was great to see Bob hugging Roger in the end.

Overall, a good show today.

One-Bid #1:  I didn't know they played "Bhen" for first items up for bids...

PG #1:  The Dob's favorite car makes its first S35 appearance.  Let's see if these Mustangs are just as evil this season as they were last season.  :-o  One Away first?!  When was the last time that happened?  With Bob entering from the back, I was expecting Pocket first.

PG #3:  Whoa, $16,000 in Race game prizes!  Second only to the $20,000+ that I offered in the Race Game in my MDS.  Brenda wasn't kidding when she said she knew how to play this game.  And on top of that, she got an exacta out of it.  Admittedly, this was an extremely difficult set of prizes for any Joe Plinko.  Who besides us would know immediately that the Heartland refrigerator was $6,000?  I believe Brenda is the first contestant ever to hug Roger after winning.  Thanks to that hug, we all know what the rest of the PG lineup will be. ;-)

SCSD #1:  Nice!  Double $1,000 winners!  And Brenda's hugging Roger again!  LOL!  I don't know why she's so obsessed with the Dob... (http://www.golden-road.net/grnoldx/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif)

PG #4:  I love that the TV showed yesterday's stunning DSW on the Viper showcase.  Have I mentioned yet today that I'm still in shock about that?

PG #5:  Truck cue on a Focus... interesting.  And I see that the Dobber's obsession with 35, 50, 80, and 95 hasn't gone away.  Michael wasn't fooled, though.  Great job!

PG #6:  Man, could this game have been set up any easier for anybody who picks the middle number for free?

My showcase bids:
Random room/trip--$15,495
FRSBS--$26,026

Here is an example of my new "Report Card"; note that I've only selected one pricing game this time, due to the fact that I had to get ready for class this morning.  I will start issuing full "Report Cards", for all six pricing games, on a daily basis two weeks from now; that way, I can get myself adjusted to the new season.

SCSD's and Showcases will not count, mainly because I have to leave for class at 10:50 every morning.

PRICING GAME--Grand Game

CONTESTANT'S NAME:  Leah

1.  Contestant Reaction:  "A"; The look on her face was priceless!

2.  Bob's Rules Explanation:  "A"; Great explanation for those who have never seen Grand Game on "The Price is Right".

3.  Game's Initial Setup:  "C"; I never expected a squeegie to be so "evil".

4.  Result:  "B"; Leah lost this game because of that evil squeegie; she played this game very well, but once again, the evil squeegie wins!  By the way, I don't deduct letter grades for losses.  It all depends on HOW the contestant played this game.

5.  Fun Factor:  "A";  Bob and Leah did an anazing job making this game exciting.

Total Points:  17

PRICING GAME GPA:  3.4; Ohhhh...a tenth of a point away from the "Dean's List"; this game was very exciting for the most part.  I still can't believe that Roger decided to include the "Evil Squeegie" in this game.

Naturally, today's show wasn't as good as yesterday's, but it was still enjoyable.

It was awesome seeing One Away played first. Excluding the several times Pocket ˘hange was played first, I believe that's the first time a giant price tag game was played first since it happened in 1998, as Frank said.

Race Game was just played very well, and it was nice that about $16,000 in prizes was offered! Also, it was cool that she hugged Roger after she won.

One Away: That's interesting, an audience entrance for One Away. Once Christine had 3 digits right, I got that sinking feeling.

Grand Game: The squeegee looked good since I wasn't sure if that "Evil" cat food was the $3.99 bag or the bag that runs about $7.00.

Race Game: I was worried about how Brenda would play this, given her bidding in Contestants' Row, then she smacked the game down in 15 seconds flat. And left my jaw, which is still smarting from yesterday, back on the floor. And Roger got some love, sweet! The fridge looked like it was pretty steep, so it didn't suprise me that is cost so much.

Showcase Showdown #1: Nice to see the Big Wheel being so generous. And Brenda gets $1.00 and gives Roger even more love! Mack Daddy Dob....LOL!

Squeeze Play: I was lost between picking the 4 or the 8 to get rid of.

Money Game: I've seen the 44 as the last 2 digits before, last season I think, so it stood out in my mind.

2 For The Price Of 1: Smart move by Ben going for the difficult tens digit. I was leaning more towards $836, though.

Showcases: I bid $15,000 Christine's showcase, and $25,000 for Michael's. My futility with boats continues.

I loved how Bob turned the Dob-hugging into a running gag by hugging Roger himself at the end of the show. And it was nice to see FIngers get a little camera time, too.

This was a nice little followup show to the awesomeness that was yesterday's.

Good show today. Painful losses in One Away, Grand Game, and Squeeze Play.

Grand Game: Choosing the sqeegie: BAD IDEA!!!

Good wins in Race Game, Money Game, and 2 for the Price of 1.

Didn’t watch today until 5 hours after airing, so most everything’s probably been said, but…

PG#1 An audience entrance for One Away???

PG#2 Would have lost Grand Game myself. Who would think a squeegee would be over $5?

PG#3 Awesome playing!

SSD#1 Incredible! $1000 twice in a row and two days in a row!

PG#4 Had no clue for this game myself.

PG#5 I actually played this good myself. Nice win.

PG#6 See PG#5

Showcase #2 Wow! uh...what were they giving away again??? :-P

Decent show today. Liked to see Bob hugging Roger and Rich on camera today! :-)

Audience entrance for ONE AWAY?????  Man, I thought we were going to see Golden Road (or even the new pricing game)!

Anyway, Christine played it pretty well, especially when she changed the first number to a zero.  And, it certainly seemed like two red-three blue was more likely than four red-one blue.  So kudos to her for that playing.

Bob should have said to Leah, "Just pick the four lowest-priced products!" :-D  Tough loss for her.

Race Game was simply FANTASTIC!  Easily the best win in this game I've ever seen.

We're already getting teased by the Big Wheel.  Last year we didn't get a $10,000 winner until the cows came home, and we've already seen three bonus spins in the first two shows.

Michael and Ben played their games just splendidly.  Both had obviously seen the games before.

Being a regular CSSer, I had a feeling Michael was over. :-)

Here's a few inside tidbits about today's 1 Hour Roger Dobkowitz Special. (I mean The Price is Right!)

Follow this carefully:

- One Away was not intended to start the show today.
- Plinko was originally scheduled as Act 1 today.
- Grand Game was originally scheduled on the Premiere.
- Two For One was not originally scheduled today.
- Pick a Pair was Act 6.

Any questions?!  :D

What caused these changes?  Is there something wrong with one of the games?

As far as I can tell, nothing at all.  I believe that Bob wanted Plinko on the Premiere show and so quite simply Plinko replaced Grand and vice versa.  Grand moving caused two GP games to be in one show (Pair).  Pair replaced.  Without moving the entire schedule around, One Away was simply bumped to Act 1.

One Away: First????  Wow!  I also would said that $20,645 was correct.

Grand Game: I knew Leah would lose once she picked the squeege?

Race Game: Yes, a great playing, and I loved how Brenda hugged Dob after that win.

Squueze Play: I would have removed the 4 and still won.

Showcases:  I had a bad feeling Michael would lose once he bid $29,550.  I would have bid $25,000 and still be over.

Overall: Not as great show as yesterday's bonanza, but good nonetheless.

Guess that also explains the absense of the small prize game today, since the lineup seemed fairly quick.

I thought it was possible that Golden Road may have been replaced since, well, we all know that Roger had never quite intended for all that was won to actually be won (http://www.angelfire.com/la3/goldenroad15/misc/smile2.txt).  Not that he's probably too worried this early, but not playing Golden Road might've just taken a little pressure off.

But who cares!  One Away first rules!  Also seems to have allowed Two for the Price of One a surprisingly early start this season (http://www.angelfire.com/la3/goldenroad15/misc/smile1.txt)!

If ever a showcase begged for Brandi to be on the show, that Square Dance showcase was it

A $3800+ IUFB to start Day 2?? :-o

Tough loss in One Away - not that i would've left 3 two's on the board to start in the first place but in Christine's position I would've switched out the 2 other twos also.

Why didn't Bob ask Rich about Canadian prices? (OK, Rich might not have been either, but still...)  It was good to see the star of our newest game (GRECO!) though.

I want Brenda to help me out with FPG this year - I don't know if she can Stop The Dob but she can sure contain him!  :-D  I figured she had the tractor right, I wasn't sure if she had everything else right or everything else wrong.  I WAS sure, however, about the second half after she won

I found it odd that the DSW and winning total graphics were missing from the clip of yesterday's show shown on the Squeeze Play TV.

Today was one of the few times I thought 44 (or any other non "El Cheapo" combo, for that matter) looked better than 35 in Money Game.

My playing of 2P1 was about as horrible as Ben's was great - I was certain the price was going to end in "00" and I would have taken the first digit (kids, don't try this at home :hammer:)

Today's show was fairly great thanks in parting to One Away played first, Race Game for Super Prizes, Seeing Roger and Fingers, The Square-Dancing showcase (Oh I wish Brandi was in it too :-( .) and Bob hugging Roger at the end.

Grand Game looked difficult as suspected and that Cat Food would've been my choice.

2 for the Price of 1 was played splendidly by a guy who made up his own mind and didn't give a damn what anyone else thought. :D

Two $1K winners in 1st SCSD? It looks like a lot of checks are ready to be spreaded out this year.

I noticed in the opening that Rich said, "Celebrating 35 years of television," instead of, "Television's most exciting hour of fantastic prizes."  It's kind of a neat thing to do for this week, but I hope it's not going to be that way all season.

The door designs appearing around the opening logo is sorta neat, but the light border fading out instead of sliding off the screen just doesn't seem right.

Wow...One Away first!  That hasn't happened since...what, the mid-'90s?

Yay for cameos by Roger and Fingers! (http://www.golden-road.net/grnoldx/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif)

Race Game was amazing.  The prices were unbelievably high, and Brenda played it beautifully...to win so fast with the prizes that were used today, she clearly knew what she was doing.

Has anyone noticed that the logo is sliding onto the screen again before the first Showcase Showdown?

Did anyone notice that when the end of yesterday's Showcase was shown before Squeeze Play, there was no "Double Showcase Winner" graphic on it?

I couldn't believe how expensive that Focus in Money Game was.

2 for the Price of 1 was surprising.  I really didn't think that game would show up so early in the season.

And speaking of those games, Money Game and 2 for the Price of 1 were both played quite well, too.  I mean, neither one was extremely hard today, but still, Michael and Ben both made some wise moves that other contestants might not have (Michael's surprisingly correct pick of 19 over 17 notwithstanding).

(...and thank you, Sally, for explaining why 2 for 1 showed up so quickly!)

In terms of just writing and humor value, today's second showcase was easily the best one so far this season.  (Not that there's a lot of competition yet...but regardless, it was darn good.)

After what happened with Brenda in Race Game and the first Showcase Showdown, I got a huge kick out of seeing Bob hug Roger during the credits. (http://www.golden-road.net/grnoldx/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif)

One score and three years ago this nation set forth a brand new game show that captivated millions of Americans including myself that there is a reason for daytime network television and a reason to say "Big Bucks". However since my favorite game show has long left this network, I must continue with my other favorite game show...

One Away: On the first try, three 2s in the same price doesn't exactly mean that we have a winner here. I wanted to change the 6 and last 2. Boy we were both wrong on our second choices.

Grand Game: The first three products were a breeze, until Leah picked the squeegee that is capable of squeegeeing out more than just water. I knew it had to be the Bouffe De Chat.

Race Game: Wow. Another large price layout. For a moment, I thought there were going to be a 4-trip game here. But what got me was how Brenda was able to do it all on one try. I know I would've had to make some changes.

Squeeze Play: A lot of us, including me and the gallery thought that 4 had to go. I drop my head backwards.

Money Game: My eyes were on the search for el cheapo. Pity we don't have it today. Anyways, again we have a player who played a pricing game much better than I would have today.

But also, there will be some people like Jose who I would bid better than. There was that bidding intuition that instantly made me want to bid 1000 and to declare Jose the first inductee to the House this season because of his bid.

2 for the Price of 1: After that Race Game win, my eye glanced the game roster. It looked like a new game or something. I did not want to check it again because that would be spoiling it. But then I thought, "They wouldn't premiere a pricing game on the last slot." Anyways, I knew the last number would be 0 and the first being 8 for some reason that it would be around $1000.

Bob made it sound like the "Just Men" Showdowns were as rare as a DSW (or something).

From what Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Away) and other sources have said, when One Away is played first, it causes an audience entrance because the game (and the giant price tag that covers it) blocks Bob's door 2 entrance.

How to be tactful about this...

Woohookitty, I'm pretty certain you're new around here.  I recognize your name from Wikipedia, but I don't believe I've seen you on our site before.  I'm not trying to be rude here, but most of us here at Golden-Road pretty well know the ins and outs of The Price Is Right.  As a matter of fact, much of the information on the show that can be found on Wikipedia actually comes from this site.  I doubt the One Away tidbit did, but if you'll check the edit history at the page you're referring to, you'll see that it was only added there within the last 12 hours, so it was clearly put in by someone who just happened to be watching this morning.

So...um...what I guess this boils down to is that you really didn't need to tell us this.  I hope I haven't discouraged you from making further posts here; I just wanted you to know what sort of atmosphere you're delving into.

Sucks that I have too much attention to detail that the second half of the show was essentially spoiled for me.  Silly "Slate Shots"...

And our first "Historic Moment" of the 35th Season occurred today during Race Game!

Also, were there TWO Wilford commecials on today?

I got to thinking later on tonight about today's show and I was just thinking how cool it would have been if Grand Game and One Away flip flopped positions. Ol' Grandy first? That would have been awesome. I don't think it will ever happen but it never hurts to wish now does it? :-D  :-P  :-)  8-)

A darn good episode we had today.

And lo and behold, the first audience entrance of the season!  And obviously, I wanted it really to be Golden Road, seeing that we had 3 Strikes and Plinko yesterday... but then again, the budget was skyrocketing yesterday and that couldn't possibly happen.  Perhaps Pocket ˘hange?  No, it's One Away!  Not that it was a bad thing, but wow, surprising.  I've personally never seen that happen before, of course, so that's really good.  The car price wasn't hard, but it came down to two good-lookng prices.  Unfortunately, wrong one was chosen.

A Grand Game win would've netted her about $11,000ish CDN.  Before taxes.  But it was easy to see how the cat food trips up contestants... countless contestants.  It was too bad she lost as well.  Darn exchange rate! :-P

Wow!  Race Game!  That reminded me of that very expensive playing of Most Expensive last season for 3 trips, where the daytime prizes' total smashed the MDS's.  I was ever so wrong; I thought that utility vehicle was $6999, but forgot how expensive the refrigerator really was.  Stunning that she won it on her first try to boot!

Nice double $1,000 wins in the first Showcase Showdown.  I really thought it'd stop at the $1.00 again, and that would've even made it more exciting.

Yes, I also noticed the missing DSW graphic on the TV during Squeeze Play.

Two for One was a pleasant surprise.  I was expecting either One Right Price or Barker's Bargain Bar to round out the lineup... I mean, sometimes the slotting is just really bland and boring! :-P  Thank goodness for this game and the win.

I loved the second Showcase.  And boy, I wouldn't mind taking Ballroom Dance Lessons with Shane and Rachel. ;-)

Yes, but I believe this is the first note of "An Historic Moment" made by Bob, himself.  :-)

That was indeed the most expensive total for Race Game ever -- it even surpassed the prime time special in which Race Game was played for four trips.

I think that was the pre-recorded light border we saw at the opening of the show -- for some reason, the light border now blinks one light at a time, instead of two lights at a time. Not sure why they used the pre-recorded light border for this episode -- the practice is still to shoot it live for the opening.

You could see the carpet underneath the trampoline sticking out when they revealed the London prize.

The reason Bob hugged Roger was because after Christine won her showcase, she ran over to hug Roger, too!

Roger said that that was definitely the greatest number of shots he's gotten in a single episode.

Well, that's your prerogative.  Seems to me to be a severe overreaction, as you clearly weren't familiar with the goings-on on this site when you made that post, but there's not really anything I can do to stop you.

One Away-Wow, this probably fooled some people.  One Away first!  I also thought the price was $20,465.  I would have been wrong too.  Yellow car!

Grand Game-Darn, that's a painful loss.  I was kind of confused on the last product myself, though I had a feeling it was the Cat Chow.

Race Game-It's MDS-daytime Race Game!  Perfect playing too!  I had no idea that refrigerator was more than $6000, though it looked really cool.  If you looked closely while she was hugging Roger, you got a quick glimpse at the slate.  So I saw what pricing games 5 & 6 would be.

SCSD 1-Wow, 3 $1000 winners already in 2 days worth of shows.  When will there be a $11,000 winner though??

Squeeze Play-I had a feeling it was the 8.  Too bad he lost.

Money Game-Wow, really good playing!  I would have messed up.

2 For 1-Played like it should be.  Enough said.

Showcase-They were alright.  Another overbid in the showcase!

Great contestants, great games, and an alright show.  My Grade: B
