Title: goldroadfanatic's TPIR episode #29
Post by: goldroadfanatic on December 21, 2013, 07:43:21 PM
Merry Christmas everyone!

It's been a long time since I've done a Host-Your-Own show around these parts; the last one was back in March!  But now that I'm on winter break, I have the time to relax and I thought what better way to do that than another episode of my series!

Because it's Christmas, I'm going to have some special surprises for this show, and lots and lots of gifts to bring everyone Holiday cheer.  This is your chance to come on down and experience the joy of the season and win something nice to put underneath your tree!  Here are the rules:

*Contestants will have 24 hours to place a bid, play their games, etc..  If you miss your turn once, you'll receive a warning; miss it again, and you're eliminated from the show.
*I will send a private message to call people down but afterwards, it is the contestant's responsibility to check the thread for updates to see when it's their turn.
*If you are going to be absent from the game when it's your turn for one reason or another, please send a private message to me and I'll figure out the best way to handle the situation.
*Audience participation is encouraged.
*If someone is eliminated from the show for whatever reason, I will notify that contestant's replacement via a PM and brief them with the situation.
*The show will begin on Monday, December 23, 2013, at 6:00 PM EST.

As always, good luck and have fun to everyone!

DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING(applause)(Walking 2007)

We're coming back to the big doors to play a pricing game.  How are you, wildbill?  I want you to know that you'll go down in this series' history as the person who saved our first half from being winless, and that you're the first person to play a certain game.  I will let you see what it is after I tell them to open these doors!

(door #2 opens)(Winter Wonderland)

wildbill, you're the first person to play the show's newest pricing game, Do The Math!

Wildbill, your job is to add or subtract $590 to or from the price of the dresser so that the sum or difference is the same as the price of the bar set.  If you make the right decision, you'll win the dresser, the bar set, and $590 in cash!  So, should we add $590 to or deduct $590 from the dresser's price to match that of the bar set's?

Okay, he's decided to add $590 to the dresser's price.

(http://img837.imageshack.us/img837/7009/gnrp.png) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/837/gnrp.png/)

DING(applause)

Now what is the price of the dresser?

(http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/2378/kqy8.png) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/842/kqy8.png/)

DING(applause)

Two thousand two hundred twenty-nine dollars.  Does adding $590 to that equal the price of the bar set?

DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING(cheers and applause)(2007 main theme)

It sure does!  Congratulations, wildbill!  You won both prizes, $590, became the first winner of Do The Math, and and we have a winner in the first half of our show!  The first showcase showdown follows this announcement!

The first showcase showdown is underway, and in PayingTheRent's first spin, he has...

(beep)

Sixty cents.  Will you stay on that or spin again?

PayingTheRent: I'll spin again.

Go right ahead.

(beeps)

What will we add to that 60 cents?  That 40 has gone on by and this isn't looking good...

(beep)

MRRRRRRRRP(applause)

Too bad, PayingTheRent, Happy Holidays, and thanks for being on our show.  Now it's time for sideshowPA to spin the wheel!

(beeps)

sideshow is looking to get some money to make up for Grocery Game, and in his first spin, he has...

(beep)

Forty cents, and what will he do?  Spin again!

(beeps)

What will we add to that 40?  There goes the 45, and I hope you can get off that 70...

(beep)

A quarter is safe, and that makes a total of 65 cents, over there you go.

DING(applause)

wildbill, you must beat that to advance to the showcase, good luck!

(beeps)

He's already won two prizes and some money in the newest pricing game, Do The Math, and he might unseat sideshow if he gets 70...

(beep)

But he's just a bit short with 45.  Spin again, wildbill!

(beeps)

Will wildbill continue his winning spree or will sideshow advance to the showcase?  Forty-five cents plus...

(beep)

A nickel is not enough, thanks for being on the show, wildbill!

(applause)(Dig We Must 2007)

Now sideshow, my Live Show partner-in-crime, you're going to the showcase!  How do you feel?

goldroadfanatic, it's going to be ShatterMySoul99 and WooWho!  Come on down, you two are the next contestants on The Price is Right!

(applause)(Walking 2007)

He's coming with me to the big doors to play our next pricing game.  How are you doing, Schfifty?  I want to present these to you to start off 2014, look!

(door #2 opens)(The Twelve Days of Christmas)

An elegant floor clock, a handy washer and dryer, and a new lawn tractor!

(applause)

First, from the Howard Miller Clock Company, the Tamarack linear floor clock features an open framed dial with Roman numerals and diamond shaped hands finished in an Antique Gold.  The top, bottom, and back panel are finished in a complementing Hampton Cherry wood.  Antique-gold, square decorative weights and pendulum bob, with Aged Ironstone-finished pendulum stick finish the decor, and it features a quartz dual-chime movement plays Beethoven's Ode to Joy or Westminster chimes, with volume control and automatic nighttime chime shut-off option!

(Janice models it)

Next, the Maytag Maxima X front-load steam washer and high-efficiency steam dryer.  The washer features 4.1-cubic inch capacity, and the dryer features a 7.4-cubic inch capacity.  Both use steam, which can kill 99.9% of household bacteria, and can relax wrinkles and freshen clothes!

(Dian models it)

And finally, The Craftsman 21-horsepower automatic 46-inch Lawn Tractor drives just like your car. Features a high-back seat and soft-grip steer wheel for comfort, and a cast-iron front axle.  The Most Reliable Starting (MRS) spark plug delivers a reliable spark every time, while a spin-on oil filter extends engine life. Automatic foot-pedal-controlled transmission makes mowing fast and easy. A large 46 inch cutting deck offers adjustable cutting heights from 1-1/2 in. to 4 in. to provide the flexibility and great cutting performance you would expect from a Craftsman® tractor. Gauge wheels minimize lawn scalping and create a more beautiful, manicured lawn, and there they are, goldroadfanatic!

(Holly models it)

Schfifty, your game is One Wrong Price! You'll win all three prizes if you can tell me which one of them is marked with a wrong price.  Is it the floor clock, the washer and dryer, or the lawn tractor?

Very well; now I'm going to give you a chance to win up to three more cards, Shatter.  We have prizes associated with each card, and George, please tell us what they are!

(Here Comes Santa Claus)(Dian models them)

Indeed I will, first the Plantronics BackBeat Go 2 bluetooth wireless headphones provide a high-fidelity sound without the hassle of a cord plugged into your music player.  They sport a durable, sweat-proof design and a stable, comfortable fit!  Features a deep-sleep power-saving mode when not in use and provides up to 4.5 hours of listening pleasure!

Next, the Precious Planet mobile from Fisher-Price features four stuffed Animal friends from around the planet.  They twirl and smile down at baby as music plays and a fascinating light show dances up above. The delicate canopy keeps images close, so it’s easier for young babies to focus. As baby grows, you can remove the mobile and project the show on the ceiling, with sweet music or sounds playing along!

And finally, the Brybelly automatic card shuffler accommodates up to two standard 52-card decks.  Press the button and the machine shuffles the cards into a perfect stack!  The cards fall into a convenient pull-out tray so that they're ready for the next game!

Shatter, I want you to bid on those earphones.  If you can give me a price that's within $10 above or $10 below their actual price, you'll win those earphones and another card.  What do you say?

I won't let you down, goldroadfanatic, I have Bandon23!  Come on down, Bandon, you're the next contestant on The Price is Right!

*Do the Math makes its debut appearance here and it's off to a perfect start.
*Grocery Game, One Wrong Price, and Push Over each make their third appearances here.  Grocery Game was previously played on episode #20, where it was won.  This appearance is the first time it was lost in the series.  One Wrong Price appeared on episode #19, while Push Over was last seen on episode #18, and so far those games are on a three-win winning streak.
*This was the first time the show was actively designed for Christmas and New Year's with holiday music cues and red and green asterisks on the showcase podiums.

I hope everyone had a great time.  As always, any comments and questions are welcome!
