Title: New Pricing Game Idea: Down the Drain

Somewhat related to my previous idea, Price Pyramid (and referred to as a "better Price Pyramid" by a fellow member when I showed them this game), and loosely based on a game show called Million Dollar Money Drop.

The contestant is physically given $50,000 in prop money in the form of 50 $1,000 bundles (or 25 $2,000 bundles, haven't decided yet).  The contestant is then shown 6 grocery items and given a clue about one of the items.  The contestant places money in a "sink" (trapdoor with decorations on and around it to make it look like a sink) in front of the item(s) they believe fits the clue.  They must use all $50,000, but they are not required to put everything on one single item.  They are allowed to distribute the money as they wish among multiple items, as long as at least one "sink" is left empty (in other words, they are not allowed to put money on all 6 items; I will refer to this as the "one empty sink" rule).  Of course, if they are highly confident in one item, the contestant is also free to put everything on only that item.

Once the contestant has decided how to distribute their money, all the "sinks" except the one corresponding to the correct item will "drain":
-A large screen on the front of the prop that spans the entire width of the prop (or 6 separate screens, one for each "sink", that together take up the same space) will show water draining into 5 of 6 virtual pipes (1 per "sink"), and if any money is lost, graphical money will be seen moving in the water in the corresponding pipe and (this is just an idea) being shredded by a garbage disposal, with some very "pleasant" prerecorded sound effects to accompany it.  The pipe corresponding to the correct item will be permanently closed/blocked off, preventing water (and therefore money) from draining.  The price of this item will be revealed, and the item will be permanently eliminated from the game.
-Meanwhile, the physical money that is lost will be dropped and stored in a bin or other hidden compartment that the producers access via a door/latch on the back of the prop.

After the "draining", the contestant gets back the money that was not lost and, based on a new (and harder) clue about one of the other items, distributes the remaining money as described above.  They must still follow the "one empty sink" rule, meaning they cannot put money on all 5 remaining items.

Game play continues as described above until the final round, in which there are only 2 items to choose from.  In this final round, the contestant must put everything they have left on one item, as putting money on both items would violate the "one empty sink" rule.

If the contestant survives all 5 rounds without losing all $50,000, they keep whatever money they have left.  If the contestant places all money on incorrect item(s) in any round, they lose everything and the game ends.

This sounds like Million Dollar Money Drop meets Fortune Hunter. I can't say I liked either of those concepts, so I can't say I'm a fan of this. This game would also have some serious timing issues, as five rounds of moving money around and resetting the displays and "sinks" would take a fairly long time.

This was an issue I thought of while I was making this game, and one idea I came up with after posting it was that instead of manually placing money in each sink, the contestant would turn on/off a "faucet" for each sink to dispense money from some sort of large compartment that holds the contestant's remaining money (acting as a sort of "water supply" but for money instead of water, a "money supply").  Upon the money being "drained" from the sinks corresponding to the incorrect items, the money put on the correct item would somehow be returned to the "money supply" by some sort of machine.  But how this would be done, I don't know, so I definitely agree that this wouldn't work on the actual show (not that it would anyway since the show doesn't take fan suggestions, and plus, I don't really like my idea for the solution to the timing issue), but I guess if anything, this game would at least work in a HYO since timing issues like this wouldn't be a thing.
