I was actually appalled at the second prize's price in Magic #, and I'm even wondering if the prize was deliberately used to prevent a win today.How would it do that? The higher priced prize being ridiculously expensive would only make the contestant less likely to lose by going over, which pretty much never happens in Magic # anyway.

Magic # was just shocking. From episodes past I know that those BBQ islands aren't cheap so I was confused the whole game...I wouldn't mind if it got retired next season due to inflation of prize costs
With the second prize being nearly $9,000, the gap between the two prizes being very unusual and unanticipated, and given that contestants the last couple of seasons tend to lowball their choices, it seemed to me like the game was setup for a loss today.
