Is this the first time in the history of the show that Now or Then was played without its sign on the turntable?

Range Game: Another loss for stopping the rangefinder a little too soon.

Now...or Then: It doesn't get any better than this!

Money Game: Another tricky setup...and I wouldn't have gotten the back, either.

Bonkers: Wow, the first digit was marked Lower every time. How could you get all those chance and still lose???

Punch-a-Bunch: Another sucky payout, only $250.

Lucky $even: Evil setup again...

Showcases: Well, everything must come to an end, as we saw the first overbid in May this season. Nice that they showed the winner propose to his girlfriend and her acceptance before the fade to black. Hopefully, we'll see this on YouTube in the near future.

I bet Frank's a happy man today.  :-P

Finally, finally they played Lucky 7 last again!!  8-) First time we've seen L7 last since Roger's lineups.

Wow, yet another 1 win day--it feels like a neverending streak we're on with these 1 win days.

Whoa!!!! I wonder were the sign was for Now or Then today? NoT looked weird without its sign.

Now or Then looked a little odd without its sign.

That was an odd setup for Money Game, since Impalas can be very expensive.

Lucky Seven last was a nice treat.

The wedding proposal made a nice end to the week.

Ooh yes!  I don't think this group of six games could have been slotted any better than they were :)!  I mean, I guess you could reasonably argue that Punch a Bunch could've been second, and Now or Then fifth, but Punch a Bunch fifth and especially Now or Then second is just plain more interesting.

Oh, and Lucky $even sixth is always awesome, of course :)!

I bet Frank's a happy man today.  :-P

He's not the only one. :-D

I also wonder what happened to Now or Then's sign...I wonder if they're making modifications to the sign so that it "fits" better (as opposed to appearing as if its a half mile away from the actual game on the new Turntable walls), or if they just simply forgot to put the sign up.  Either way, it was kinda weird to not see it.

I guess having the season number in the top middle spot on the Money Game board is done away with...oh well.

Isn't it kinda ironic that the TV that was offered as a prize in Bonkers was showing a past playing of Bonkers? It was more than likely intentional, but it was still kinda funny nonetheless.

Yay! Lucky $even sixth!

OVERALL: 3.5/5.

Normally, when a pricing game's sign is missing, I post that I "wonder" why it wasn't there...but today, I'm gonna make a guess instead.  The staff is probably going so crazy trying to deal with this new format for Acts 1 and 2 that the Now....or Then sign probably got lost in the shuffle.

Seeing Lucky $even sixth was cool.

The big prize in the second showcase was an outdoor movie projection screen?!

Incidentally, there hasn't been a single car in the Showcase all week.  (...well, I guess there was if you count the SmartCar from yesterday, but that thing's barely a car.)  That's pathetic.

Not only that, but did anyone notice that at the end of the clip, it showed that the winning combo for THAT playing was the SAME EXACT correct combo for TODAY's playing!?  I saw that.  It made me sick seeing that from wondering if the show knew what they were doing in playing that particular clip.  I mean, the clip showed Bonkers with the same correct combo as today's playing, after all the other possible combos? :oldlol: :police:  If I was the contestant, I noticed that right away.  That would be the first combo I try(LHHH)  There was an edit in Bonkers today, btw.

-Lineup: Not too bad.
-Rangey: She had the right idea...not quite high enough. 8/10
-NoT: Nice. 9/10
-Money: That was weird, 25/29. 7/10
-SD1: 4/5
-Bonkers: Good effort. 8/10
-Punchy: Just about how it usually goes. 8/10
-L7: If you don't have an idea on the thousands digit, you can just call it a loss. 7/10
-SD2: 4/5
-SC1: Cool dune buggies! 5/5
-SC2: Almost all furniture....hmm. 4/5
-Results: Wow, I knew he was over, but not that over. Cheapo buggies 7/10
-Drew: Too much on that 50 in Punchy. 8/10

Exact same denominations as yesterday for each section -

79 --> C+ - damn, this has been the worst week of the season.

I liked the line-up today also.

I think Drew should reveal where the $25,000 is hiding on the Punch Board at the end of the game. I would have punched Hole #4 on the bottom row. I just had a feeling there was big money there.

MY FAVORITE GAME OF THE DAY:
Punch-a-Bunch

MY FAVORITE CONTESTANT:
Casey, Bonkers!

PRICELESS MOMENT:
The wedding proposal by Paul at the end of the show.

Here's a question for those in the know - are they doing a stopdown in between games #1 and 2 (like the MDSes), or are they just rolling right into the second game?

It seems that a two consistently good halves of a show's lineup can't really be done anymore.  The first half (while slotted decently) really wasn't a great selection of games, but the second half was awesome.

Maybe they are changing the name of Now or Then to "Trivial Grocery Pursuit"?

The proposal was nice...I wish they would have at least stopped the music for it.

There's got to be a stopdown.  There's no way some of the staging changes we've seen this week happened in the time it took for Rich to call the next contestant.

SHOW GRADE: 1

Guys... those of you upset that CBS cut away quickly after the proposal are forgetting that CBS Video (which I rely on to watch the show) leaves in the full credit roll. There's not really anything extra to see, though.

Range Game: It always seem that the contestants stop it a couple of seconds too early...

To answer that stopdown question: I forgot to comment on how fast it took for the crew to move out Grocery Game, rotate a few times, and put in Gwen and the range in just a few seconds. So I agree there is some stopdown. I would like to see that.

oct. 1994 oct.: Ever since Drew started hand-(and now foot)-modeling the products, I was hoping one day that he would actually open a product. He did today. The Capzasin Roll-on was a surefire now.

One Bid 3: Ah, the Train is back. Takes me back to how I would like to see Ricky Stratton's train on Silver Spoons. Kudos to the audience and the Mighty Sound Effects lady to reply to Drew's train toots.

Money Game: Something told me that 29 was up to something...

Bonkers: I don't seem to recall seeing a pricing game played on a television, and then the contestant plays it. Nice.

Punch-a-Bunch: The only sentence that clicked to me was how many $500 slips were there. A little bit of me wanted to keep that $500.

Lucky Seven: When Dwight was in Contestant's Row, I was predicting he might ask that infamous "Model come with the prize?" question for One Bid 5. He does it here. I sometimes wonder if that ever comes true in any capacity? I do not recall anytime nor anywhere that a model comes with a prize. Getting the last two numbers were a longshot anyway.

Ay. Another proposal....

Unless I'm mistaken, I think we have ourselves an example of coincidence defined:  compare Money Game played today with the playing of Money Game in Episode #193 N.

LIke I said in today's thread, the clip on the tv was a playing of Bonkers.  And the clip ended with showing the correct combination, and it was the same combination as the correct one in today's game.  I think this is not a coincidence.

Anyone please roll back their DVR or tape and tell what you think.  By the way I would have tried LHHH on my first try, because I saw that that was correct on the clip on the television.

It bothers me when the contestants grab the microphone in Drew's hand, like Dwight did during the SS.  Drew just let him have it and give his little speech.

The rush is that the show is still paying to use the studio during the stopdowns.

Well, there was still a stop down between Acts 1 and 2 prior to merging the two acts - it's not like anything has been added to cause the crew to rush.

What I'm getting at is there is no difference, practically speaking, between the the new merged Acts 1 & 2, and the old separated acts. It's still the same amount of studio time - it's just edited together differently.

Range: I thought she had it, too.  :-(

NoT: No Sign??!!  :-o :-o Hope it comes back next time. Now Drew is doing foot wavings. Good win.

Money: Seeing 17 as the lone 10-20 digit on the board was telling me it would be the dud. When you see four digits between 20-30 up there spells tricky setup and Paul fell for it.

Bonkers: Casey gave his best shot, though.

Punch: Am I the only one who noticed that the belt buckle was plugging the wrong game? $250 is no bowl of cherries but it'll do.

Lucky 7: No, Dwight. You're playing for just the car!!  :D Dwight went overboard on the high numbers.

Showcases: OMG!! Look who's face is on the outdoor theater system....It's Winston Churchill!!!!  :oldlol: :hammer: Go Paul!! Looks like you're marrying a fine-as-heck looking woman!!!

A 2.25-star show.

N/T:  No sign was weird.  Just out of curiosity, do they still make Cheracol D?  I haven't seen that product in years.

One-Bid #3:  Yay!  The train is back in the one-bids! :P

Money:  What an unusual assortment of numbers on the board today--17, four numbers in the 20s, and my beloved 99.  I knew I had a reason to be suspicious about 29 being on the board with 23, 24, and 25.  That was mean by Kathy.

Bonky:  That was also weird.  The TV showed a game of Bonkers... and they're playing Bonkers for the TV.  Also weird was the fact that both the Bonkers playing on TV and this Bonkers playing had the same correct solution--LHHH.

Punchy:  The LED belt buckle should've said Punch-a-Bunch instead of Plinko.

L7:  Yay!  Lucky $even last! :P

My showcase bids:
Buggies/trip--$18,007 (near :wsd: )
Room/outdoors--$24,007 ( :wsd: )

I don't know the mechanics of it all, but we've been told by KenCrane that there was an air of "confusion" about the whole thing, so evidently, there's problems with this setup behind the scenes that, outside of this incident, we aren't seeing on the air.

Now...or Then-It just looks so weird without the sign.  Wow, the "then" was 15 years ago!  That's the oldest I've ever seen it.

One-Bid #3-Hurray, it's the train! :-)  Feels like it's been forever since they last used it.

Money Game-I see they broke tradition by not putting 37 in the middle top space.  17 and 29 both looked suspicious up on the board.

Bonkers-Well, Casey certainly played it correctly, even though he didn't win.  How odd that the solution from the TV Bonkers and the actual playing were the same.

Punch-a-Bunch-That's gonna get old seeing a new picture of Drew on every bill.  I wish they'd have a normal bill; it'd look much classier.

Lucky $even-Hurray for it being last!  Boo for being a nasty setup.  Didn't help that Dwight bombed the 2nd number.

Showcases-What is it this season with Price and outdoor furniture?  Seems like I've seen more outdoor than indoor furniture offered this season!

Could it be that Ashley/Broyhill pulled their contract(s)?

Wow. Those dune buggies must be cheap. I guessed about $2000 for the video games, $6000 each for the dune buggies and $7500 for the vacation + cash for the first showcase. Total $21,500. I was still way over.

Setups were EEEEEEE-VILLLLLLLLL!!!! </kaientai> Sometimes I wonder if they set those up on purpose to curb winnings.

Our affiliate showed the proposal in full. That was awesome. But the proposal on the Couples Price episode was even better, since it was the girl doing the proposing. :D
