Title: 9821's The Price is Right Episode 2 - What Hasn't Happened?
Post by: TPIRfan#9821 on June 28, 2020, 06:33:09 PM
...I really got bored and decided to make another one of these, didn't I?  ;)

I will be using the same format as before, with four games, The Price Gift Exchange (http://www.golden-road.net/index.php/topic,31093.msg477769.html#msg477769), and a selection of two TNPiR '94-style showcases. Here are the rules I mentioned last time, void where prohibited:
If you thought that quoted list was long, have a longer one for my creative prompt!

My lineup consists of two games in active rotation and two retired games. All four games have not been played since the reboot of the HYO section. I don't want you to guess lineup. Instead, for contestant priority, out of all the games listed below, which one do you NOT want to play and why?

Active Games:
Bonkers
Coming or Going
Dice Game
Do the Math
Double Cross
Five Price Tags
Freeze Frame
1/2 Off
Let 'em Roll
More or Less
Now... or Then
One Away
One Wrong Price
Pass the Buck
Pick-a-Number
Pick-a-Pair
Plinko
Push Over
Race Game
Secret "X"
Side by Side
Squeeze Play
Switch?
Switcheroo
Temptation
10 Chances
That's Too Much
Time Is Money

Retired Games:
Buy or Sell
Clearance Sale
Credit Card
Double Bullseye
Fortune Hunter
Give or Keep
Hit Me
Hurdles
Joker
On the Nose
On the Spot
Penny Ante
Professor Price
Shower Game
Split Decision
Step Up
Super Ball!!
Super Saver
Trader Bob
Walk of Fame

I'll start this show on Canada Day, July 1st at noon EST. Have fun submitting!

On the Nose.

It’s just not a good fit for HYO. I tried a practice run once, but it’s so easy to break your computer screen...

Time Is Money.

On TV it always seems messy and difficult to follow. While it may be a bit easier online, it's still a hot mess and is usually way to difficult.

I’d say Time is Money. It’s rather too frantic to get all of your items in  the correct spots for $20K. Plus it’s also not a good fit for HyO since you have to automatically count down the total value if you get it wrong on the first try.

Simply put, this game’s too stressful. End of story.

I'm in! I'll take "On The Spot" for $200 please! Oh,  wrong prog-,  but anyway, I'll never get through (and win) this game 'cause it's PLAINLY CONFUSING! And everytime I'm confident about something's price, it seems that it would be a lot more cheaper or more expensive than I thought! That wouldn't help me a lot with this game.

Sticking with my overrated game of Super Ball!! I had it on a HYO in the pre-script era and my opinions on it have changed after seeing gscentral gush about it. I like Skee Ball but I'd much rather play it at an arcade, not a game show.

I wouldn't like to play Trader Bob. I love suspenseful reveals, so this isn't the game for me!

I'm in! I'll choose 1/2 Off as my game I wouldn't want to play. If I get it down to two boxes, I'll be trying to get inside your head. Did you put the money in the box closer to me or closer to the model? The box closer to me would be too easy, so I can clearly not choose the box in front of me. But you would know that I'd try to get in your head, you would've counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the box in front of your model. Of course, 1/2 Off debuted while Roger Dobkowitz was producer, and with multiple uncommon letters late in the alphabet in his last name, I can clearly not choose the box in front of me. But then...well, I could go on (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMz7JBRbmNo). I'll go crazy if I have to play that game! :-P

I'm in!

Professor Price, not because I don't think I could answer the questions, but it was just a total mess of a pricing game.

Double Bullseye. Price is about pricing, not two people going back and forth guessing random numbers for half of the game's duration.

I'd love to join, but please, whatever you do, don't make me play Now or Then.

There are just so many reasons. First off, I don't want to be anywhere near that eyesore. You've updated the set? There are still problems

I want a bit of a challenge to show off of my pricing prowess, or eat some humble pie when I royally mess up. I don't want to play a game where I can basically guarantee a win using the proper strategy. Changing from the 4 now/2 then rule, you say? Still have some issues.

The game's a borefest compared to some of the superior GP games out there. I'm not gonna be picky on the real show, but you better bet your bottom dollar I'll be picky in this hypothetical. You wanna add fireworks after each correct pick for some pizzazz? Still not enough.

That's my one wish, 9821. Don't force Now or Then on me. That is all.

Just a heads up: I'll probably bump up the end of signups and start the show later tonight. If there is anyone else who wants to play, there's still time to make my job of selecting contestants harder, since there have been nothing but good answers so far!

Again, thanks to everyone who wanted to play! Yet again, this was tough to pick people, so if you don't get chosen, I still hope you enjoy the show!

Here it comes! From the person who really thought they should get another one of these in the records, it's The Price is Right!

tpiradam, come on down!

Plinkoman, come on down!

Litebulb88, come on down!

and gamesurf, come on down!

You are the first four contestants on the most unlikely sequel to happen on The Price is Right!

And now, here's the host with the most... something, 9821!

*I come out, just as surprised as you*

Hello, and welcome to another installment of me pretending to be funny for a week and a half! Let's get this show going with the first item up for bids!

It's a giant stuffed giraffe!

Forgive me for using a Vine. But this stuffed giraffe towers at a height of 94.5 inches, and weighs 30 pounds! From Hansa Toys!

tpiradam, we'll start with you, and work our way over. Bid in dollars, please.

$1,625! Adam, the giraffe is yours!

And welcome to the show! I'm sure we've got a great prize for you behind the curtain, right?

You can try to shove your giraffe into this industrial dishwasher!

The Hobert LXER-2 Undercounter Dishwasher can wash practically all your dishes instantly! By using the magic of water vapor, this can clean 38 racks an hour with a light load, and uses only 1.14 gallons of water each time. It also comes with a dirty water indicator and energy saver mode!

Now, you are going to play Side by Side!

I know, it's the old Side by Side, but I was too lazy to make like 20 asterisks just for the 50's aesthetic. Regardless, I want you to slide the top block to either side of the 58, to make the price either $7,958 or $5,879. Now, win that dishwasher!

$1,026 for LiteBulb... *ding!*

...Actual Retail Price is...

$3,799! gamesurf, you were only off by $2,749, and you've won all the chocolates!

Now, you might lose track of time eating all 10,260 chocolates. Thankfully, we've got the perfect arrangement of gifts for you!

How about a grandfather clock, an Apple Watch, a pocket timepiece, and an innovative wall piece!

From Howard Miller, this pendulum grandfather clock comes with a Windsor cherry finish, and has a "high-precision, German-made, Kieninger cable-driven, triple-chime movement" that chimes every 15 minutes! This clock towers over 7 feet and 4.5 inches!

Next, this 44mm Series 5 Apple Watch is innovative, and comes with a premium White Ceramic Case, and comes with an extremely lightweight Space Black Link Bracelet!

Third, this 2-inch pocket watch is a nice touch to your lifestyle. This Double Hunter watch is hand-wound and has 17 jewels to balance the center wheel for precision!

Finally, remember that weird watch that I offered in the last show? Apparently, they make wall clocks as well! This 450mm by 450 mm QLOCKTWO Classic Creator's Edition Gold was covered with gold leaves by hand. In fact, if you want a challenge mode on reading the time, you can purchase new faces in different languages, including Swiss German, Catalan, Czech, and over 15 more languages! Back to you, 9821!

Now, remember the one thing that made Step Up memorable? The stoplight design?

I got rid of that for a baseball theme!

And, let's agree to never look at that full set again! The goal of this game is to sort the four items from least expensive to most expensive. If you can do that, I'll give you all three prizes and $3,000. gamesurf, I want you to step up to the plate, and choose the cheapest item of the four.

I don't know what I'm looking at... but I like it. :D

That funky watch with the words was $1,000+ last time, right? A bigger version would cost more than that, I assume?

Or less? Maybe they have to spend more to get the electronics to fit on the wrist? I dunno.

An Apple Watch is only a few hundred, but that new ceramic case means it has to be some special edition that costs more. But I hope it's not TOO much more. Let's go for the Apple Watch.

*slight applause, slight sighs from the crowd*

Hopefully that's the cheapest item here. Now, I want you to pick something else that's worth at least $1,750. If you can do that, I'll give you the Apple Watch, that prize, and $500.

The wall clock with the words!

*applause*

Well, that's more than $1,749!

Now, you've got an option here. You can bail with $6,229 worth of items, or if you think another item costs more than $3,890, you can play on. If you guess another item correctly, I'll throw in another $1,000. What will it be?

I'm sure the pocket watch and the grandfather clock are nice, but no way am I going to gamble on one of them being 4 grand!

Besides, how many timepieces does one person need? Let's BAIL!

Yeah, you couldn't have played perfectly ever since you picked the Apple Watch. But if I didn't set this up, I wouldn't be too sure about the grandfather clock. Was it a cheap grandfather clock or expensive one?

*awws from the audience*

It was an expensive one. You still walk out of here with an Apple Watch and QLOCKTWO clock, and an extra $500 to boot! And hopefully, we'll have someone win just as much after these messages!

Hoo boy. I should've 1 upped someone else . Anyway, here are my placements:

<$3: Gummy bears
$3-$5.99: Book, cereal
$6+: Lollipops, ice cream

Alright, for $20,000, is that right?

*BUZZ!*

No, it isn't, unfortunately. Now, the bigger question now is how many does he have wrong?

Only 1 wrong! LiteBulb, if you want to give back the $4,000, you only need to change one of the items! Or, you could just forget about the $16,000 and sit back down, $4,000 richer. Your call.

I'd go with the Mochi balls... they're good but they're only a 6 count, and I have my doubts they're >$1 per.

Much as I want to go on, I'd need to be at least 25% sure of the change I'm making to make it worth it (since $16,000 is 4 * $4,000). And I can't say I'm 25% sure of what change I need to make, so I will stop with the $4,000.

*boos from crowd*  :-)

I'm just kidding, it definitely feels like anything other than the gummi bears could be moved. For what it's worth, I would have moved the lollipops down.

Fair enough. Congratulations on netting $4,000!

Now, I'm hearing lollipops and mochi from the crowd. Which one was the wrong item?

Ah, it was the mochi. Here were the rest of the items, just to show that he only got one wrong:

So, we've had two people bail out, but across both of my shows, I'm still technically 0 for 7. There better be a winner on the next game, else I'm going to quit mid-show.  :-(

Numbers, you've made it! Follow me to the turntable. We're going to play a game that's a little... unique. It's a little different because you need to play against someone else to win your fabulous prize. I've got a couple stations set up. You'll take the left one.

Plinkoman didn't complain about this game, right?

No, but someone else did.

Who?

tpir04 did.

I am a cruel person who loves irony. Call him down as the final contestant.

Alright, you heard 9821! tpir04, come on down! You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!

04, you either make it on stage and play Double Bullseye, or don't play at all :P . Your call with this final prize:

It's a fancy lighter!

When you have a lighter, the whole world looks like a match! This elegent lighter comes with a brown sunburst lacquer, and has an engraved roller for a firmer grip! From S.T. Dupont!

04 goes with a $1,650... *ding!*

Plinkoman, let's be real, who complains about Side By Side at all as a quickie? Push Over is maybe the only other quickie better than SBS. $2,000 it is... *ding!*

PatrickRox80 has just given up apparently with a straight grand... *ding!*

and we have another $1 bid! *ding!*

And the actual retail price is...

One thousand...

Six hundred...

If I'm soooooo evil, then I wouldn't have been 100% willing to give a free imaginary car, 04...

...seventy-five! tpir04, against all odds, you made it up to the stage with only one chance  :-x

04, I'm sure you're so glad to make it on stage! In fact, I'll let you face against Numbers for this prize!

A brand new car!

It's the 2020 Yaris XLE! Comes equipped with a 1.5L engine, 6-speed automatic transmission, front-wheel drive, plus alloy wheel locks, a coin holder or ashtray cup, and emergency assistance kit!

And since I'm so mean, I'll give you a range that the Yaris is worth: from $10,000 to $20,000 :P You two will alternate bids, and I will say if each bid is higher or lower than the ARP. The podii will keep track of the highest low on the left and the lowest high on the right. We'll start the bidding with 123123123, because he won his way on stage first.

And, welcome back! Because of the... unique situation of having 5 players go into the Gift Exchange, we've decided to have some split screen action between our Double Bullseye podium and Contestant's Row. Our top winner once again is tpir04, who will have the most power in this round of bidding, then gamesurf, then LiteBulb, then Numbers, and finally, at home base, tpiradam. You will be shown items, one at a time, and the person closest to stage left can decide to either bid on the item or pass it to the person on their left. The passing continues until we reach the end or someone bids on the item, and then we repeat the process until everyone places a bid. Whoever is closest on pricing their item WITHOUT GOING OVER gets to keep their item and gets to play in tonight's showcase.

Let's start with the first item in the Gift Exchange!

It's a giant safe!

Keep everything, including your guns, protected in this safe! This 36-cubic foot safe weighs over 1300 pounds and comes with 1/4" solid steel walls, a door with 3/8" steel plate and 2 C-rated fire boards, and a five-spoke wheel!

tpir04, bid or pass?

The Predator 400-XL comes with a four-stroke single-cylinder 25-horsepower engine, continuously variable transmission, and front and rear suspension!

Assuming you have a compatible computer, this brand new GPU from Nvidia has 48 gigabytes of GDDR6 synchronous DRAM, 4,608 CUDA cores, and allows for complex ray tracing and deep learning!

If I actually decide to do episode 3, I know that I'm theming the entire thing except for a recycled showcase. You'll like the theme if it happens, because it's so common, that I'm surprised no one else has ever attempted it  :-D

tpiradam, you must bid on the GPU within 24 hours, else you will get replaced.

In the world of digital cameras nowadays, you're either a Nikon guy or a pirate - because you shoot with a Canon. Or you're a scrub that just uses their phone to take photos of everything. However, this 20.8 megapixel DSLR Nikon D6 supports 14 frames per second of continuous shooting, an ISO as high as 102,400, and 4K UHD! It's powerful AF system will allow you to capture every moment to its fullest!

Now, gamesurf, you're left with the last item. And I should stay objective, but I think it is ironically the thing of this lineup that is impossible to price. Yet, it's sadistically my favorite thing that I found a giant price tag for. Mr Announcer, what is it?

gamesurf, you're going to be playing Plinko... with this two-player coin pusher!

Built in the fabulous US of A, and received for a major discount since Chuck E. Cheese's is going bankrupt, this coin pusher will take your tokens down the famous pegboard and light up the letters of Plinko below. If that happens, the Big Wheel on top spins and grants extra tickets! This machine also comes with a pull out ticket drawer to make reloading tickets easier!

Good luck.

But I think a pinball machine is $3,500ish, and a nickel pusher is $2,000ish.

One of those Plinko games has less tech and takes up less space than a pinball machine, but more than a nickel pusher.

So 3 grand? Multiplied by two?

$5,995.

For clarifications sake, you aren't bidding on a used model. This is a brand new Plinko coin pusher machine. And also, sometimes this is sold in packs of one coin pusher, but one can buy two of the single pushers and a kit to fuse them together.

I'll give you the option to rebid, since it sounds like you're considering used models on eBay and I've already used appraised items on this show. If you want to keep the $5,995, just confirm that.

I'll stick with $5,995. I don't know how well they hold their value.

If we were talking about a used Chuck-e-Cheese animatronic, OTOH, I'd be bidding much less. Like, in the negatives.

We're sticking with the $5,995 bid then, alright... *ding!* Time to see who advances to the showcases!

Let's just go in the order of bids. tpir04, you bid $12,895 on the safe. Actual retail price...

$6,299, and you went nearly double of the price BUZZ!

Next up, we have Numbers. He bid an appropriate $6,789 on the Utility Terrain Vehicle. Actual retail price...

$8,360! That gives Numbers a good difference, but will it be good enough?

Next, tpiradam was forced to bid on a computer part. He bid $800.

The actual retail price is $5,500...

Not enough to beat Numbers. We turn to LiteBulb, who bid $3,999 on the camera. The actual retail price is...

$6,500. Close, but not enough to beat 123123123.

Finally, we turn to gamesurf, who bid $5,995 on the Plinko coin pusher. Actual retail price...

$11,999! Not enough, Numbers, you've done it!

Numbers, we're going to move on to the Showcase round. I've randomized the envelopes of the range of your guess, and I want you to pick a number between 1 and 10. I'm also going to ask you to choose a theme.

Theme 1: To All the Hosts Before Me...
Theme 2: Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na... Pricing Man!

Aye, a chance at redemption!

I'll pick envelope 10, and go with Theme #1

Alright, you've picked envelope 10... and you've gotten the bare minimum of $6,000.

*light applause*

But hey, it's still a 6k range, which could be enough to win this lovely assortment of prizes! Mr. Announcer, take it away!

This showcase pays tribute to all of the people who have hosted a game ever since HYO came back!

And lets, just cut to the chase with you, Numbers. You like to rep the country of Ghana, so you can celebrate your fandom... with red, gold, and green phones!

First, this Samsung Galaxy Note10 comes with 256 gigabytes of storage, 8 gigabytes of RAM, and fast charging!

[cente](https://i.imgur.com/MriCT2a.jpg)

Next, from Goldgenie, one of the most desirable smartphones on the planet. This 256GB iPhone 11 Pro is coated with 24 karat gold, and comes in a premium box! Headphones, charging cable, and a lifetime warranty are included!

Then, flashback to the old days with this Motorola V3 GSM! Remember how it was like to use an actual keypad to call and text everything!

Our next host we're shouting out is DarkShockBro for the one game they hosted. Now, I get the feeling from their profile picture that they're a big fan of Celeste, so I'll give you the opportunity to play that game... on this game console and TV!

Take home console games anywhere with this new Nintendo Switch! Comes with two detachable controllers, an HDMI cable, and one game!

And tune in to the latest items with this 55" Spectre 4K Ultra High Definition TV! Use the included remote control to swap between the three HDMI ports!

Next, when this whole virus situation completely blows over, you might want to take a trip out of the country! But stay localish to the country of tpiradam... lovely Canada!

You and a guest are going to fly roundtrip coach from Los Angeles to beautiful Toronto! Enjoy a seven night stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, where you aren't really going to do anything because nothing is open. Free wi-fi is included, but not daily breakfast, so we're going to throw in 1,000 Canadian Dollars to pay for amenities!

Our next shoutout goes to PatrickRox80, whose Seasons episodes have highlighted the best of each year, starting from 1972, and going onwards! So, our next prize is something that should have stayed in the 70s, but apparently is something that still exists... these new, designer moon boots!

These silver Moon Boot Swarovski snow boots feature a round toe, calf length, embellishments, and for some reason these are supposed to be used as ski boots? I guess if you want to emulate skiing in reduced gravity, you can!

Moving on, one of the most proficient hosts on this forum is Teddy, who tries out new things in mass quantities. This was where a Polaris SL was going to be, but two episodes in a row with the same prize in the showcase is a bit too much. So instead, take this lower-end 3-wheel trike!

This Massimo Spider scooter comes with a 200-horsepower air cooled engine, reinforced steel framing, and an aerodynamically improved fork!

Finally, since all the hosts are done, 9821 has to give his own gift!

Wait, I was?

Yeah, you were!

...well, I mean, I have the $300 from my episode of Price, so I guess I can offer that?

And this showcase with an anticlimactic finish can be yours, but only if, the price is right!

So, you do have the option to half your range if you want to know the price of one of the prizes. And going from $6,000 to $3,000 isn't as bad as you think.

HOLD IT!

How dare you forget about the shows I help announce?

Why the heck is there another announcer in the studio?

9821 should know. He's forgotten that he's was the first ever contestant that got up on stage thanks to a literal s***post (http://www.golden-road.net/index.php/topic,30203.0.html), on a show hosted by gamesurf. You know, the guy who was just forced to bid on an unpriceable Plinko machine?

...Where are you going with this?

Well, our producer figured out how to cut into your prize budget, and give the ultimate prize to end your showcase, because nothing beats the thrill in riding...

IN A NEW FORD RANGER!

It's the 2020 Ford Ranger LARIAT Supercab! Comes equipped with a 4x2 drive, 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine, 10-speed automatic transmission, and comes with White Platinum paint, 501A package, Black Appearance package, Trailer Tow package, pickup box extender, engine block heater, SecuriCode™ Keyless-Entry Keypad, tray-style floor liners, tailgate applique, 18" black machine-faced wheels, hood scoop, matte black hood cowl stripe and speed stripes, Ford performance sport exhaust system, fender vent, stainless steel tailgate lettering, Lumen TouchLink bed lighting, horizontal cargo net, cargo bed sling organizer, bed mat, off-road recovery heavy duty replacement parts, pivot storage box, chase racks, tailgate damper, a hitch swing and four-bike tilted bike ramp and cargo basket and kayak carrier and snowsport carrier and paddleboard carrier and two-person tent and adjustable bed rack and canoe carrier and rack-mounted bike carrier with lock and hitch-mounted snowsport carrier and tailgate bike holder and telescoping side bars and rack-mounted light bracket and hitch-mounted rack extension, ALL from Yakima, 40" Rigid LED Light Bar, trailer brake controller, HitchScan rear park assist sensor and hitch step by Rosen, vehicle security system, dashcam, front and rear gatorback splash guards, trailer hitch ball mount, chrome-plated wheel locks, two red tow hooks, and black textured door sill and rocker panel armor! It's the Ford Ranger!

...Well, gamesurf's staff just made things interesting. I raise the offer again. Do you want to half your range to know the exact price of one of the items on stage, or do you want to play on with a $6,000 range?

Hahahahahahaha

Well, the Ford Ranger goes for about $26,000 base, IIRC, but it seems rather, rather loaded...

Plus it’s a super cab, which is not a model I ever experimented with but could well add a few thousand to the price. Wish I could be more help.

Wow, what a beautifully written showcase!! Doesn't make it easier for me to make a bid, but still a great theme.  :-)

There's no way I'm taking only a $3,000 range, so let me talk this out loud and see what happens.

Phones: I'm pretty sure iPhone 11 is over $1,000. I just "upgraded" to a refurbished Galaxy S8 for only $250, so I'm not sure if the Note 10 gets to a grand, maybe $700. While the Motorola is still slick, even more so in green, it can't possibly be more than $100 (~$2,000)

Switch & TV: I'm really kicking myself right now, I should know how much the Switch considering how many times I put it in my Amazon cart and didn't get it. Pegging it at $400 with another $50 for the game. 55" isn't huge and Spectre isn't the biggest name brand, so I'll say $2,500 (~$3,000)

Trip: This is the tough part. How cheap are hotel rooms and flights right now? 7 nights in a Toronto hotel is still great, but the fact you just threw in cash has me worried it a lot less than I think. Would also help if I knew the exchange rates  (~$6,500)

Moon Boots: Swavorski, as in the jewelry maker? From what I've seen, throwing designer in the front of anything adds $$$ (~$2,000)

Grown-Up Tricycle: From the description, I'm guessing it's significantly less than the $26k Slingshot. But it's probably more than your average Vespa or ATV. (~$13,500)

Cash: Does $300 even count as $300 anymore?  (~$300)

Ranger: OK, if it start at $26k, assume each package averages about $1,500, each option cost an average of $75 to $100, and bump the prices of the bigger options up to a $200 to $300 average... screw it, I'm not doing all that. (~$38,500)

For a grand total of...

{whips out calculator}

...$66,700. I add $1,230 for good measure and make my range $64,930 to $70,930 and hope for the best.

Alright, if the prize of that showcase is between $64,930 and $70,930, you're a winner. Light it up!

BUZZ!

Aw, you were so close! If you weren't screwed over by bad luck when choosing the range, you would have had it.

Ah well, that's the way it goes sometimes. Until then, I'm 9821, and I'm going to see if I can get a refund on that truck right now. See you!

**************************~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~***************

You know, that show went about as well as I thought it would, minus the Gift Exchange.

Expected: 1.95/4 (Three items won on Step Up, bailout after 2 wrong items in Money, Double Bullseye)

Actual: 1.7/4 (Two items won on Step Up, bailout after 2 wrong items in Money, Double Bullseye)

-Side by Side was mean. I know. I'm not a big fan of making the quickies easy, and that shows in my shows.

-Man, screw you all for mentioning the rest of the games in my lineup :P Step Up was meant to subvert the 0-1-2-3 structure of the show, yet allowing 3 correct prizes by either picking the Apple Watch first, or knowing Howard Miller is a very expensive grandfather clock brand. Unfortunately, neither of those happened.

-Time is Money was set up so one of each prize was supposed to be a give-me, and also me trying to be funny (Lions, Tigers, Bears, "O"'s, "My"/Lo?). The 200 lollipops obviously cost more than $0.02 a pop, the 2 oz pack of gummy bears was obviously cheap, and the brand name cereal was at a reasonable price this time. The book and mochi were the bait items that were cheaper than they looked, and I thought LiteBulb was going to win when he got the book right.

-In a very old draft of my first show, my first game was supposed to be Lucky 7 for that $19,821 car. I finally got to reuse it in an arbitrary guessing game!

-Yeah, the Gift Exchange was rough. My general philosophy has been to keep all the items above $5,000, and only have one item over $10,000, but I don't think I ever said that. My next show, if I find the concentration to make it, is all going to be centered around one theme, and I'll make sure it's clear some items are fairly price. Although, ironically, gamesurf, if you used your estimation with my $6,099 pinball machine last show instead of $3,500, I think you would have won.

Showcase notes:

-Someone, pick the Batman-themed showcase PLEASE! I really like that one, although you might not thanks to the last prize... :)

-The theme of shouting out all the past hosts came to me because I wanted to be unique with my four games, and I thought there was no better way to pay tribute to the hosts that already shaved off a giant amount of those games than just giving each one a prize.

-Here's a breakdown of all the prizes, but the TL;DR is that 123123123 undershot massively with the sexed-up Ranger, but almost recovered by overpricing the trike and potentially could have saved themselves on the iPhone.

Phones:
Samsung Note 10: $950. It still costs a decent amount. It is in the same ballpark as a 128 GB Galaxy.
GOLD-PLATED iPhone 11 Pro: $3,395. A regular iPhone Pro 5.8" with 256 GB costs $1,149. The key here was that it was "gold-plated" by another company, which adds another two grand.
Motorola V3 GSM: $70. Yeah, you called it with being under $100. There was a phone that was supposedly more ecofriendly, but it only works in Europe, and I didn't want to worry about pricing importing in the same showcase as the Moon Boots.

Game Package:
Celeste: $35. It only costs $19.99 digitally, but because Nintendo Switch cartridges are expensive, they have to upcharge.
Nintendo Switch: $300. If you don't know that by now, shame on you.
Television: $300 (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Sceptre-55-Class-4K-UHD-LED-TV-HDR-U550CV-U/46784939?). Mentally, I wanted to make a couple things cheaper than usual, just in case someone undershot on the Ranger.

Canadian Prize Package: $6,403. Nothing much to say besides you were pretty much spot on. When I wrote the script, 1000 Canadian was $730 USD.

Moon Boots: $2,870. Again, another prize that was supposed to be more expensive than you thought. The price given also included duties in shipping, which I allowed, but for the car, I didn't allow destination fees, because consistency.

3-wheeled motorcycle: $4,499? You definitely overshot on this one. I put a question mark because the official website appears to have changed the price from $4,499 to $3,499 between the time I wrote the script to now? If you had only been within $1,000, I'd probably award a tech win.

Ford Ranger with everything but 4x4 drive: $54,411. I'm not going to go over every single item, but here were a few notable selections:

-The base model Ford Ranger, XL, for me says "Starting at $24,410". I used the Ford Ranger LARIAT, which says "Starting at 32,500". The trims themselves have an $8,000 difference.

-The average of the three packages were around $4,500, so you got that right.

-SuperCab oddly didn't seem like it added anything immediately, but it made some of the options more expensive... as evinced by...

-Your fatal flaw was assuming each option averages at around $100. The average cost of one was around $350.

Yeah, next time is going to be easier, but it will be more luck-based as well! If you have any comments, leave them below, and until then, see you!

Close, but no cigar.  I wish I saw the phone was was gold plated rather than just gold colored. Life moves on.

Great show 9821, and I promise if I somehow find my way back to the showcase in your next show, I'll pick the Batman theme.  :-)

Terrific show, 9821!

I really enjoy the format & graphics. It really feels like an alternate universe Price is Right.

I'm sure the batman showcase is good, but that other one wasn't too shabby either :-D
