The TALK Is Right / Re: Season 52 Spinning Star Thread
« Last post by C8 on Yesterday at 07:53:28 PM »
I went to two taping this week and both were full, with standbys being turned away, and no seat fillers (granted, the 8am show today was the last show of Season 52 and the 4th of July airing). There was definitely a guy losing his temper in the parking lot because he only had standby tickets and a line started at 4 am.

Show 2 each day was full, too, and I wasn't afforded the opportunity to attend more than the 8am show.

Same here 3 weeks ago. Minus the angry standbys. I did not collect a spinning star, but, my audience was full of fantastic people who were passionate about the show and absolutely earned their call downs (and some I was shocked didn't get called down). It wasn't slim pickings by any means. As far as I could tell there were no seat fillers.

With half the number of seats there used to be and them still needing to pay seat fillers by time, your odds have never been better at being chosen by simply showing up.

Whitey Herzog, Hall of Fame manager of the St. Louis Cardinals, age 92. No cause disclosed.

(imitating Rei Ayanami)
I only see immaturity from those who can't accept a decent strategy on bidding $420 and or "$--69". Do you feel the need to put down people who innocently bid those amounts because they appear immature to you when they only meant well to win their way on stage?

This is a waste of time and the very existence of this thread was a mistake.
27
you also need to realize a lot of people in that row are NOT golden-road.net superfans like us who would even THINK to be "optimized" in their bidding

just look at how many non-zero guesses are made on 10 Chances, even AFTER the Superfan episode all but spelled it out
28
I only see immaturity from those who can't accept a decent strategy on bidding $420 and or "$--69".

You don't seem to be getting the point that this will never be the optimum, much less a decent, strategy.

Price is Right Recaps! / Re: TPiR Recap - 4/16/2024
« Last post by GFinNY on Yesterday at 01:11:46 PM »
I always get a kick out of Drew's music references -- and especially enjoyed his B-52's reference today when contestant Claire played ("Planet Claire"). I often wonder how many of these music references actually "land" with Price audiences/viewers -- and how many have no idea what the heck he's talking about!  :D
30
i don't blame you for not knowing, especially since Gaggl is a new thing

but the service will be a thing that can be streamed directly to your Twitch channel or YT livestream (licensed from the companies that own the rights, like Fremantle in TPIR's case) using your streaming software of choice (ie OBS)

basically, a legal form of hosting a TPIR:TBE watch party vs struggling to get a PlutoTV feed (or any other Free Ad Supported TV thing) to show up on OBS due to how those sites operate with copyright/piracy prevention
