Title: Futuregsh PIR#06005- Conclusion
Post by: Futuregsh on June 26, 2006, 02:13:30 PM
Alright, here we are, at the final show of the week.  We've had some fun shows this week.  The last show wasn't as profitable game wise, but ended with a DSW, which was great.  Now, while I do not participate in the FPG, I figured we could do an easy way for everyone to participate.

Sign up on the main forum.  Then, if you choose, send me a PM of the ONE GAME you think will appear on the show.  Your clues- It will be a game which has not been played yet and is currently in rotation on the TV show (no retired games or forum created games).  Other than that, send me a PM with your ONE GAME.  If your game is one of them, you will be put in the "priority random" pot, meaning you will be in the group that are selected as contestants first.  Once those names are gone, I move to those who were incorrect in their guesses in random fashion.  If you send me MORE than one game selection, you ballot will not count.

Can't remember all the games I've played?  Check the archives :).  After that, the game will begin the evening of July 4th, as I plan on being out of town (as I'm sure many will be) this weekend.  Good luck and Have Fun!!!

Welcome Goldroadfanatic to the show.  You have a Go Cart that I'm sure will be a great addition to your neighborhood street and I have THREE MORE prizes I'd like to give you as well.  What are they Johnny?

Alright Goldroadfanatic, you say the DESK and CHAIR at One Thousand, Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars is WRONG.

__$1,750__
DESK/CHAIR

Now, in a moment, Dian will show us the price of the Desk and Chair.  And if it is ANYTHING other than One Thousand, Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars, you will win the Desk and Chair, the Treadmill, and the Barbecue.

Are you ready?

Dian, show us the price of the Desk and Chair...

__$1,750__

Garvin8r FOUL #1

Let's find out...

The actual retail price of the watches is...

THIRTEEN SEVENTY-FIVE ($1,375)!  (Mulitple Bells, COU Music)  Frank15, it did work!  Come up here on this stage and let's play Pricing Game #2...

(Futuregsh and Frank15 arrive at the Giant Price Tag)

Welcome to the stage Frank15.  You were correct on those watches and were rewarded and if you are correct on the next prize THIS is the reward...

A NEW VAN!!!

It's the Saturn Relay 2 Minivan!  Great for the family with it's seven passenger seating and plenty of room for all your family gear and storage.  This van comes equipped with a standard 3.5 liter V-6 engine PLUS

And Frank15, that Van will be in your driveaway if you win ONE AWAY.  Now, I will tell you that the Saturn Relay is NOT Thirty-Seven Thousand, Six Hundred Thirty-Three Dollars.  But each number is One Away from the right number.  Which means that the 3 is either a 4 or a 2, the 7 is either an 8 or a 6, and so on down the line.  Tell me the right price and you win the van.

Title: Re: Futuregsh PIR#06005- PG #2
Post by: Mallory16 on July 08, 2006, 01:05:38 AM
Yay, One Away, one of my favorites!  Think this is only the second game that I've gotten twice on these forums, the first being All for One.  Which is odd, since as far as I know, that game's only been played twice, period.

I'd wait to see Jade's advice, since he's good with the car games, but I have this feeling he ain't gonna' help me out here.

Anyway, this situation seems oddly familiar.  Except this time I'm the contestant.  But I'm rambling too much, aren't I?  I mean, I know you want to get on with the show, and if I don't shut up, you might not have time for all six games.

...and I'm rambling again, so I'll shut up now.  I'll try $28,522, please.
Title: Re: Futuregsh PIR#06005- PG #2

Garvin8r, it happens to all of us.  We'll see you at IUFB #3.

But now, to the game at hand...

ONE AWAY
$28522
XXXXXX

Frank15 has given us a price of TWENTY-EIGHT THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY-TWO DOLLARS.  Now, if that is the right price, THAT

will be your new van.  BUT, if you have even ONE number right, the game will continue.  So ask them, "Ladies, do I have at least one number right?"

Ladies, do i have at least one number right?

(HONK)

YES YOU DO!!!  The game continues.  Now, Frank15, ask them "Ladies, do I have two numbers right?"

Ladies, do I have two numbers right?

(HONK)

YES!!!  That's terrific.  Now ask them "Ladies, do I have THREE numbers right?"

Ladies, do I have three numbers right?

(SILENCE)

Nope, you have TWO numbers right Frank15, which means that you need to change THREE of them.  What do you want the final price of the car to be?
Title: Re: Futuregsh PIR#06005- PG #2
Post by: Mallory16 on July 08, 2006, 02:04:24 AM
Grr, this is hard.  I may like the game, but I don't seem to be too good at it.  I could easily be wrong about that 8, so let's change that to a 6.  And let's change the last two twos to two fours.  So $26,544... that doesn't really look too good, but I'm sticking with that, and hoping for the best here!

There's probably some moral I'm supposed to learn, about making games on my show too difficult.  Maybe some day I'll even learn it.

ONE AWAY
$26544
XXXXXX

Frank15 has, grudgingly, decided on TWENTY-SIX THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED FORTY-FOUR DOLLARS for the price of the van.  Let's hope for the best.

What is the first number?

ONE AWAY
$26544
$2XXXX
(DING)
The 2 is right.  I don't think that's a big surprise though.

Now, you changed that 8 to a 6.  Did he do a good thing?

ONE AWAY
$26544
$26XXX
(DING)

THAT was a good change sir!

Now, if the next number is a 5, then we KNOW that you have won the Van.

Show us the third number...

ONE AWAY

OPEN IT UP!!!

$26544

Have I mentioned before that I love hard games (http://www.angelfire.com/la3/goldenroad15/misc/smile5.txt)?  Honestly I was worried there--at least as much as one can get for an online forum game without actual physical prizes being won.

Closed captioning paid for in part by the following:

(Insert :10 Energizer Hearing Aid Batteries Commercial)

(Fade up from black)

I have THREE winners with me ready to spin the Big Wheel.  Goldroadfanatic won 3 terrific prizes playing One Wrong Price.  Garvin8r just won a new car playing Squeeze Play.  And Frank15 won a new car playing One Away.  Now, each of you can win as much as $11,000 on this wheel.  Get $1.00 in one spin or a combination of two spins and I'll reward you with $1,000 and a bonus spin.  In the bonus spin, if the wheel stops on one of the two green sections, you win $5,000 more.  BUT, if it stops on the $1.00 in your bonus spin, you win $10,000 MORE for a total of $11,000.  Not only that, the one of you three who is nearest to $1.00 without going over will be in the showcases at the end of the show.  With that in mind, goldroadfanatic, step over there and spin that wheel...

And a good spin it is...

Could it be...

COULD IT BE...

15

OOOOOHHHH, 15 cents.  So close to that dollar.  Well goldroadfanatic, what do you think about that?

He got 15 cents in his first spin...

And to that we will add...

I think it's too fast for the 85, BUT...

65

65 is a good add giving you a total of 80 cents!

.80
(DING)

Alright, godroadfanatic has 80 cents, and now, it is time for Garvin8r to spin...

Garvin8r has already won a new car...

And now he wants MONEY for gas...

And at today's prices, it'll take a $1,000 for just one tank...

And you have Garvin8r...

90

Well, 90 cents is what you have!!!  That beats Goldroadfanatic, but remember, Frank15 still has to spin.  What's your decision?

Now, here comes Frank15 to spin the wheel...

Frank already has a brand new Saturn Relay courtesy of One Away...

And now HE wants gas money...

Trying to beat that 90 cents...

And he may have done it...

GO GO GO!!!

55

OOOOHHHHH.  So close to that 95, but you got 55 cents instead.  Spin again Frank...

There goes his second spin...

Trying to beat 90 cents...

And it doesn't look good Frank, I'm sorry to say...

I'd go with the croutons, unless that snack is a nice bit cheaper than I think it is.  I'm no crouton expert now, and I've never had those particular snacks, but I'd bet the snacks are over $2.17.  Then again, for all I know the croutons are less than $1.17, and you should buy 2... maybe someone else can help ya' a bit?

Stats and comments:

Won- $114,468
Offered- $140,925
Win- 81.28%

5 out of 6 games won today

FOR 5 SHOWS (The Week):

Won- $370,131
Offered- $771,633
Win %- 47.97
13 of 30 games won

Show #5 had more winners than any of the week

As a premiere week, the budget was higher.  And of course, when the new season starts, new budget.

I was surprised at the Squeeze Play win and the One Away wins in this show.

I knew the second showcase would be won based on the fact I thought that everyone would overprice the boat.

Garvin8r, how much did you think the Sport Trac Cost?  MSRP was $27,340.  I thought I would get a bid in the $30K range honestly.  That Dining Room was over $11K.

In Grocery Game, 3 out of 5 products would have been a one product win from the start (everything but the Crackers and the Denture Adhesive).

Any other thoughts or suggestions?  Next show will start in about a week or so...

Hope everyone enjoyed it :).

I had the Sport Trac at $28,000.  I kinda had a feeling the dining room group was expensive.  It just looked over-the-top.
I'm now over $200,000 in total winnings with eight or nine automobiles in my fleet.
