Since I had such a disaster, I'm going to do another one. This one will be a half hour. The games will be Superball, Grand Game and Hole In One. Then the 2 top winners will be in the showcase. This time, I'll keep a script of the bids so there won't be a disaster.
I need 6 people to sign up.
-
I didn't know you could host a show again.......
If you are able to host this show, I'm just curious: How are you going to do Hole in One and Superball? (For that matter, how are you going to do Grand Game?)
-
Superball, I know you had some troubles with your first show. I am not going to sign up for this one, but I am offering some guidance/suggestions if you think you need them. I'd be more than happy to show you what one of my scripts look like, and some ideas for helping randomize and provide simualtions for games.
-
O.K. Can you P.M me some scripts and those ideas?
-
Sorry about your first show. I, too, am having a bit of trouble with mine. I hope this one will work out better. Count me in! :-)
-
Here's how I'll do the 3.
For Superball, you pick a number between 1 and 20 to throw a ball, like in the showcase showdown.
For Hole In One, you pick a number between 1 and 10 to putt.
And Grand Game will not be played for $20,000. It'll be played for $50,000.
And I'll tell the prizes for the games except GG.
Superball: Trip, Travel trailer, Jaguar.
Hole In One: 2 Ford Thunderbird Convertibles.
-
I'll sign up for yet another controversial Play Along!
-
I'm in!
-
I didn't officially say I signed up, so I say it now.
-
2 more and we'll begin. That Jaguar is gathering cobwebs.
-
All right, It looks like only 4 people will play. It's been 2 days. Well, here we go.

For ball #1, is the necklace $99 or $86?
-
Wait a minute Brian should be the one playing a pricing game not punchboard. He bid 900. The ARP is 950. Brian's the winner not punchy!
-
Oops! Sorry. Brian, you will play. Punchy, I'm sorry.
-
For ball #1 Brian, what is the correct price? $99 or $86 for the necklace?
-
I forgot, I won't be here until Thursday due to me going down to see my cousins. We can still play when I get back.
-

-

YOU WIN IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! Rich! Who's next?!
Futuregsh! COME ON DOWN!!!
Here is the next IUfB!
A motorcycle!
Make your bid Futuregsh!
-
yahoo!
-
Futuregsh has less than 7 hours to bid.
-
Sigh...
Again, ilovesuperball, you didn't list the bidding order. You need to remember to do that. And it would really help if you told us what he was bidding on. Can you be any more vague than "a motorcycle"?
Well, guess there's always "a prize." But let's not go there. And please list the bidding order.
And Futuregsh never signed up... perhaps that could be why he isn't bidding? Why did you call him down, when he didn't sign up? Frankly, I don't know why anyone would sign up after that last show, anyway, and you ain't making a good second impression here, either.
And again, you forgot to change your subject line. That would also help, had Futuregsh actually signed up for your show.
-
Punchy
Futuregsh
Jhc2010
TPiR Adam
I thoug Future signed up. We need 6 players.
-
First, you're wrong again. He didn't sign up. And it's his choice whether he wants to play this or not.
And second, if Futuregsh is the first bidder, why are you listing him second? Shouldn't it be:
Futuregsh
Jhc2010
TPiR Adam
Punchy
Mixing up the order like that is going to confuse people.
-
Do I need to bid? I'll pass until I figure out what's going on....
-
Even I have no idea what's going on here, and I'm not even playing!
wpghi5 is the last remaining player in the audience, so he should be called. Future only pointed out that you started a show with 4 players when you needed six; he never truly signed up. I'm taking this to PM, and when I get done, I expect to take over hosting this show.
-
This isn't the first time he's included a player that didn't sign up. Back on the old board, after complaining about how silly a show would be when it's just copied from a really stupid recap, he "signed me up" (even though I clearly stated, "I'm not in") and I somehow made it into contestant's row. After more complaining about how I got there, it was subsequently locked.
End of story time, now back to the "show."
-
Good. Frank's reading this. Maybe he can clear this up.
-
I'll try. Making an official statement here, since ilovesuperball is, once again, having difficulty handling this responsibility.
wpghi, you bid first. You should have been called to come on down here.
jhc2010, you bid second.
tpiradam, you bid third.
Punchboard91, you bid fourth.
You four are bidding on a random motorcycle.
ilovesuperball, do not argue with me here. And try to get the show back on track after this yourself.
-
$2250.
-
The motorcycle is a Kawasaki model.
-
Wow -- the controversy has begun! $2,550.
-
$1800
-
Punch has less than 6 hours to bid.
-
Wait! Why the heck does Punchy have less than 6 hours to bid? tpiradam only bid 3 hours ago, so why are you only giving Punchy 9 hours to bid?!
No... since you didn't specify a time anyway, I'll assume 24 hours here, and that you'll give him. Do not buzz him until at least 12:40 PM. Unless you live in a different time zone, where the time would be different...
Err, something. Just don't buzz him until his time has passed, and a 9-hour time limit isn't exactly fair. Especially if you hadn't announced it earlier.
-
Yeah -- Rule 6 in the "Play Along Forum -- Rules & Regs (http://www.golden-road.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=443&forum=11)" thread says that the time limit should be at least 24 hours.
-
Frank, not to overstep a fellow moderator's bounds, but I believe that ilovesuperball might be in a little bit over his/her head. I suggest that superball has ONE more chance without making a huge error before shutting down shop.
Furthermore, if this game ends up closing superball will be banned from hosting for three months unless s/he can prove capable of hosting a game without too many foul-ups.
I don't want to have to suggest this to Marc or John, superball, so PLEASE let Frank help you with the rest of the show!
-
I don't mind, Alfie. I'm trying to help, but yeah, there does come a point where enough is enough.
-
Er, uh.....
$2,551.
-
The actual retail price is $2,575! Punchy, come right up here! Now, we are not going to play Grand Game, but we're playing another game. Brandi, bring it out! Look what's coming out! Look!!!!
A NEW VIPER!! It's the 2006 Dodge Viper SRT10!
And here we are with Lucky Seven! Here is $7. And ther first digit is 8. It's at least $80,000. What do you think is the next number?
-
4.
-
It's 5, only 1 dollar. What's next?
-
3.
-
You're right! You keep all $6! What do you think is next?
-
6.
-
It's 5, you have $5 left, you can miss it by 4 one way or the other.
-
It better not be 0!
5!
-
YES IT IS 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU WIN!!!!!! W
ell, we only have 3 players left here, since Futuresgh didn't sign up. So I guess that Wpghi5 will start the bidding.
Here is the next IUfB!
A camping trailer! The Little Guy Worldwide 5-foot Camping trailer!.
Wpghi5! Make your bid!
-
$2500.
-
$2000
-
I thought I was supposed to bid second, but I'm not complaining... $2,501!
-
You were. ilovesuperball forgot to list the bidding order again, and tpiradam didn't seem to care. So you got lucky!
-
Well, the actual retail price is $5000! Jhc2010, come right over here! Now we're playing Hole in One! Usually, the car is revealed first. But you're not playing for just a car! Look!
2 NEW CARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A pair of 2006 Ford Thunderbird Convertibles, these sporty cars come with standard equipment plus paint fabric protectant and engine block heater. The Ford Thunderbird! 2 Terrific prizes worth $78,950!!!!!!
And here are the grocery items! If you line them all up correctly, you win $2,500! You will be playing with the following items.
Peanut Butter
Starburst
Citrucal Calcium
Flinstones Vitamins
Pepsi 6 Pack
and Oxford Index Cards.
Line them up, and we'll see which line you putt from
-
Before we get started, can I get the following questions answered?:
Is the "Starburst" the standard size or not?
Is the "Pepsi 6 Pack" 20oz bottles or 12oz cans or what?
How many index cards are in the pack? I'm asking because it could be like the JUMBO size.
Thanks.
-
Assuming how the show's going so far, it doesn't matter how you place them; you'll still "win"! :-P
-
It's a 1 pack of Starburst, 100 cards and the Pepsi are 12 oz cans.
-
...a 1 pack of Starbursts? Even the little "fun size" packages comes 2 a pack! You mean a 12-pack, right?
Unless there's a store near you that sells individual Starbursts. I'm guessing you probably mean the 12-pack though, right?
-
What I think he means are the ones that come in flavours like the Sour ones or the ones you get from those vending machines. There are usually about 8 in a pack, I guess.
-
12! 12! Those vending-machine packs are twelve in a pack! I already said that! Not 8, but 12!
-
Oh sorry. It's 1 BAR of Starbursts!
-
My guess is: Index cards, Starburst, Pepsi, Peanut Butter, Flintstones, Citracal.
Not that it matters...
-
Isn't the Starburst only 55˘, though, while the index cards are 69˘?
-
I gotta go with Steve on this one.
I'd put the Starburst first, then the index cards, and I think that BuddyTom has the rest right.
-
YES! You have them all right! You win $2,500! You will putt from the closest line!
Jhc2010 putts from the closest line and WINS!!!
Congratulations! Those 2 cars are yours! Now we go to the Showcase Showdown! You will spin first. Pick a number between 1 and 20.
-
You know, JHC hasn't officially made his guess. But I'm sure he'll take it for granted, anyways. :-P
-
...
(Mouth hangs open)
...what the ****ing mother****? The contestant didn't even answer you yet!
Frank, is this grounds to lock the thread? This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen.
-
I thought he did. Sorry!
-
I thought jhc was playing the game, here, not that anybody couldn't have guessed the outcome...
I was just giving an audience shout-out, and SteveGavazzi was correcting me. The actual player of the game never responded with the order HE thought the products should be in, there was no reveal of the prices in order, no inspiration putt, and the player never actually (virtually) hit the golf ball and yet he wins almost $80K in cars??
I don't think I've ever seen anything quite this ludicrous in my life.
-
I just want to say that this is the BEST SHOW on G-R.net right now; not for its quality, but for its chaos! Now I wish I signed up for this show instead of that other one, where I just got a lousy lobster and ticket! :-P
-
Please don't lock this thread...I'll tell you why.
When the VHS version of Titanic first came out, it was such a long movie, it came in two tapes. I immediately put in the second tape, because I only wanted to watch the boat sink, and had no interest in the fluff at the beginning of the movie.
Well, this show kinda reminds me of that....
-
I apologize for having busted in here like this, but...
You see, I PM'ed ilovesuperball some pointers on hosting his own show TWICE, not once, but TWICE. Yet, I really don't think that he's taking my advice very well.
Again, I'm sorry if I had to bust in here like this, but I gave ilovesuperball enough advice to help him along here. I hear that Frank's helping him out too.
-
Ummmmmmm.... so what happens next -- do I re-play the game, or give the product order and make a putt, or spin the wheel, or WHAT??? I'm terribly confused -- and it's amazing what has happened in this thread in the last 18 hours...
-
sideshowPA, Frank15, Alfonzo, GoldenBulldog, all of them have offered to help. While it can be amusing to watch a 50-car pileup, it's also extremely frustrating, especially when I honestly don't know if the host even realizes what's going on and why the mistakes that have been made are even wrong.
-
Sorry guys, this show must cease. Can't say I didn't give superball a fair shot.
LOCKED
