Drew, Elisangela DIDN'T clean up today; it would've been appropriate to have said that if she had also won the Jeep playing Let 'Em Roll.

Just a few thoughts....

I'm going back and forth on taking a second roll or taking the $2500. :) I probably would have gone for it like the contestant did.

$16649 for the car in One Away just didn't look right. And it wasn't.

I suppose I can understand why Drew would laugh at the end of the show, but the reasons behind spaying and neutering pets are serious. Makes me wonder about how sincere he is about the cause, or if he just says the line every day because he thinks it's just tradition.

So nice to hear the music played for the fourth item up for bids again. :)

Meh... very lethargic show. Where was the cash game?

Drew was laughing at the end because he wished the TV audience good luck with their babies.

Both extra rolls shoulda been won in let em roll. Switch was really easy, cliff hangers Jayme musta been insane to say that tub was 45 dollars. Eazy was easy today. One Away could have been won Safe Crackers was evil. I thought the price for the monitors were 540.

I realize that the show's theme dictated what type of prizes we'd see, but almost all baby-related items is still rather dull.

Big kudos to Stan for the fourth one-bid music.  That bell variant of the main theme was from the '72 pack, and fit really well with the "nursery" theme.

A minivan.  When was the last time they offered one of those?

(This would have been a real fun FPG day.)

Safe Crackers was evil. I thought the price for the monitors were 540.

There were two possible (reasonable) guesses, as there always are in "Safe Crackers."  I don't think there was anything evil about it.

Big kudos to Stan for the fourth one-bid music.  That bell variant of the main theme was from the '72 pack, and fit really well with the "nursery" theme.

I completely agree with you regarding the music fitting well.  I wish they would realize that, even though the cues are old, they can still fit in with the newer ones.

A minivan.  When was the last time they offered one of those?

A van and a station wagon, on the same show!   8-O

(I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned One Away yet. Looks like I get dibs.  ;))

Good:
-MAJOR PROPS to Stan for the '72 cue. Moar, please.
-MAJOR PROPS to whoever decided that Drew should turn the trilons in One Away once again.
-Minivan in the showcase.

Bad:
-Having a baby shower show. Well, you had to expect it. :P
-Cliff Hangers. My god, that was an awful playing.
-Doing 2-trip Switch?. Fine on any other day, but do you really think someone is going to take a trip while pregnant, even if it's in Southern California?

Let 'em Roll: 3rd "grocery item" wasn't as evil as past ones, but formula is usually expensive so going "more expensive" wasn't really a surprise.  The dice took it from there.

Switch?: Pricing those SoCal trips is pretty much a coin toss: I'm pretty sure that the Palm Springs trip has been the more-expensive trip in past playings which have also featured a seaside trip.

CliffHangers: Yes, the baby items are deceptive price-wise, but that was still quite painful and unexplainable.

Eazy as 1-2-3: VERY eazy indeed.

One Away: Just plain evil.  Even if she kept the 8 instead of changing it to 6, I can't think of anyone who would've changed the 9 to 7.  Meant to be lost.

Safe Crackers: Bring back the door reveal!  The other easy game of the day.

It felt like Gwendolyn was everywhere today and it figures - there were only two models today. I guess Drew had to do some work as a result.

Does it bother anyone else that most (all?) of the contestants chosen to come up on stage were from California?  Not only that, but in the immediate area surrounding Los Angeles.  I mean, if that's the best the staff can do, then it shows how many people actually care about a "special" like this.

It's bad enough if they offer one trip to the area surrounding Los Angeles area...now they have to offer two!  So you have people from the surrounding area, playing for a trip to essentially their home.  Ugh.

Cliff Hangers was played horribly.  I guess karma payed Jayme back on the wheel, by spinning 2 nickels.

Thank you, Drew, for actually turning the trilons in One Away for a change.  It makes the game flow much smoother.

That was a good win in Safe Crackers.  With the prize value as it was $x,x40, I'm surprised they didn't select $540 for the monitors.

During pregnancy is probably not the time most women want to trek across the country to attend Price.  That would be my guess.  One thing I forgot earlier, did anyone else notice how Drew mumbled his "When is your baby due?" line?  The first time he said it, I though he asked "What does your baby do?  I thought he was joking, which actually would have been funny if he asked the mother what she did first.

You know, I try to be open minded about these motif shows and even the salutes that restrict contestants, but today was just too much - it bored me. It honestly just feels weird and out of place to me to have pricing game prizes like a nursery and car seats on this type of show. I imagine it may have appealed to the female 18-34 graphic, which is probably what they're going for, but it alienated the rest of us.

It's a shame too this show had to feel so lethargic like that (Wayo had a good word) - there was a very strong lineup today (only 1 quickie! no 1 prizers at all!) and it was set up to have a good chance at 4 wins (although the car games were their usual hard selves). I just found it difficult to get into today's show, but would like to hear from someone if they particularly enjoyed today's show because of the prizes. The show does not need gimmicks like this - Monday and Tuesday were actually great shows on their own, so today just disrupted this week's momentum.

Oh, and Cliff Hangers was a token example of how contestant quality usually goes way down on a special like this that limits the contestant pool. On the plus side, I thought that Drew hosted today's show better than any single episode that has aired in the past month - he spent some good time with the contestants today.

Timings:
Let 'em Roll (5.5) - 3:52
Switch? (3.5)- 3:34
Cliff Hangers (4.5) - 4:30
Eazy as 123 (4) - 3:53
One Away (5) - 5:25
Safe Crackers (4.5) - 4:17
Total (27): 24:41

Ahh, so Alicia and all of her friends live in the same neighborhood and got pregnant at the same time.  My immediate thought:  "I hope all of their babies don't have the same father or else we'll be seeing all of them on another TV show next year--Maury."

I cannot believe the two strollers were more expensive than the computer.

One Away was a crapshoot between $18,629 and $18,647... but somehow, Alicia forced a loss on herself.

My showcase bids:
Van--$40,107
Station wagon--$25,107

Yep... only The Fireball can find a way to overbid a sexed-up showcase. :headbang:

Stan WIN for using this as an excellent opportunity to use that cue. I sprang up instantly when I heard that. Great.

As Guint pointed out Drew WIN for actually hosting One Away. I hope this is permanent.

Cliff Hangers was odd. Let 'Em Roll was unfortunate.

Easy az 1-2-3 was actually easy as 1-2-3. Go figure.

*Also, today was apparently Amber's "Holly" day. From the drawer on the changing table to the reveal button on Easy, she just had a hard time today. Poor thing.

A Minivan. That was a nice change of pace.

Pretty average show. One of the better specials.

*Oh....and what in the world had Drew cracking up at the end today?

*Oh....and what in the world had Drew cracking up at the end today?

Probably the idea that the show was about people having babies and that he just told people to keep their pets from having them.  Honestly, if I were in his shoes and that thought hit me, I probably would have had a similar reaction.  Granted, pet overpopulation is no laughing matter, but one can't help but see the irony.

It's not that people don't like baby items on the show.  It's that only baby items for an entire show is dull.  It gets repetitive and steals any of the surprise factor concerning what they might offer next.  It's no different than when they had that trip overload a while back--seemed like every single showcase there for a while was nothing but trips, with nothing that I would consider an actual "prize" in there anywhere.  (And didn't the audience actually groan at one point when a trip was revealed?)

Have they been using the cue from the fifth Item up for Bids on a regular basis, or was that new?  It sounded like it would fit fairly well with the normal music.
I'm pretty sure this is the first time for that piece, it's in the same "suite" of cues as the piano cue (used here when Rich screwed up the prize description for the prior one-bid) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=JdxOpS4i-jQ#t=106s).

Let Em Roll:  I can't believe that Elisangela and the Peanut Gallery thought that the infant formula was more expensive than the Orajel! :headbang:
Switch?, Eazy Az 123, Safe Crackers:  Nice wins! :-)
Cliff Hangers:  Downright awful! :headbang:
One Away:  Bummer! :-(

Pretty good show overall, IMHO.

I actually took it that he was laughing at what he had said right before the spayed/neutered plug. I think he had said something to the tune of "it was fun having the expecting mothers playing. it was nice to have all of you here." It looked as if he realized he sounded dumb when he said that and just started laughing, or something happened off camera too.

Guess you'd have to ask Drew to find out for sure, but I think it was more along the lines of what gameshowfan1987 and I thought. I just watched the ending again and he started laughing while delivering the plug and didn't appear to look away from the camera lens.

I warned him I can make him disappear.

I think you proved it, too! ;)

There was a strange error on the rebroadcast of this episode...a double light border with the second one smaller in the upper right section of the screen.

It must have been a network error; I can't believe this wouldn't have been mentioned had it aired this way the first time around.

I saw the same thing and figured it must be WOIO's problem, but now that I think of it, I guess it was the network probably because the 10:59 time/temperature/sponsor thing was fine, and then the Big Brother promo with Julie Chen was the strange double image, along with the beginning of Price, then suddenly it changed to normal.  I'm glad I wasn't seeing things....

It was strange how it fixed itself, too...the extra picture literally zoomed out of existence right behind the light border at the end of the opening.
