Out In Left Field / Re: 2022 NHL Playoffs
« Last post by mellongraig on May 16, 2022, 01:41:55 AM »
And with that, the first round is officially complete. Despite the Toronto Maple Leafs being eliminated in the first round, two Canadian teams are still in the hunt for the Stanley Cup - Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames, both winning their Game 7 series (with the latter being in overtime), and it also means one of these two Canadian teams will move on to the Western Conference Final. Also the Carolina Hurricanes and the New York Rangers won their Game 7s as well (with the latter in overtime).

Here's the second round series match-ups:

Eastern Conference:
(A1) Florida Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning (A3) (Battle of Florida)
(M1) Carolina Hurricanes vs. New York Rangers (M2)

Western Conference:
(C1) Colorado Avalanche vs. St. Louis Blues (C3)
(P1) Calgary Flames vs. Edmonton Oilers (P2) (Battle of Alberta, first time since 1991)

Is there a list anywhere of all the stops that were made? I could just find the eight that were listed as "special stops" in Viacom's press release.

Those were all the stops.

I was ready to take my slap on the wrist for misreading the press release, but no, the press release did say 50 stops.

LOS ANGELES, March 21, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- To celebrate 50 golden years as the most iconic and joyful game show on television, CBS Original THE PRICE IS RIGHT is hitting the road. The epic coast-to-coast tour will make 50 stops across the country, giving fans the opportunity to play games, win prizes, and enter for a chance to win a grand prize of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000*), while supporting local businesses along the way.

Whoopsie!

What happened to 50 stops? The tour lasted for 54 days, and I doubt anything besides the named cities count toward the total.

Overall, it seemed like it went well as an event, it was a nice addition on top of everything.

Answering my own question-- the NYC visit will be in Madison Square Park from 12 to 4pm. This article also says this is the last show of the tour. https://www.amny.com/entertainment/the-price-is-right-50th-anniversary-tour-madison-square-park/

Yes, unlike the TV show it's completely random. At least the times I've been (last time 2016), they had tables outside the venue before the show where you would give the staff member your name and then you'd be put into the contestant pool. Not sure if the process has changed since though.
