Post by: 3StrikesFan on April 28, 2008, 03:16:14 PM It's been a while since we've had a car in 2 For The Price Of 1! Speaking of which, Christina looked confused during Drew's explanation of the rules.... and I have to admit, so was I. What was up with Autumn lifting the bags during Balance Game? It's as if she thought by raising them up and down, she'd figure out their actual weight. Hey whatever works to win, right. Post by: Trivia Trap on April 28, 2008, 03:16:42 PM The show was pretty good today, but Drew had to rush through Side By Side, partly because (at least to me) he took forever in playing Clock Game. It might just be me though. Post by: Mallory16 on April 28, 2008, 03:20:49 PM And still speaking of Elena, Spongebob Squarepants Spongebob Squarepants Spongebob Squarepants! That was hilarious! I'm really surprised Elena was so unfamiliar with Spongebob. I know people who love it, and I know people who hate it, but I think every single one of them knows who lives in a pineapple under the sea! I wonder what Autumn was doing in Balance Game. As best I can tell, it looked light she was trying to "feel" the weight of each bag to decide which one "felt" like it would weigh the same as the big bag. Bizarre playing, for sure. Rich ain't from 'round these parts. Not if he couldn't pronounce Arlene's last name correctly ;). Guess "Thibodeaux" can be tricky if you've never heard it before, though. Wonder why Drew didn't want Sharon to get her own key in Master Key? Maybe he confused it with Spelling Bee or something. Drew was really rushing through Grand Game today. I don't remember seeing Drew in such a hurry before. Seemed odd, considering all the extra time he had to chitchat during the showcase, though. Post by: Wayoshi on April 28, 2008, 03:31:26 PM Key: Wow, we're 3/3 this season (this is the first time it wasn't the Master Key). I thought for sure though when Drew was looking to DOB & co. they would tell him to go for the car before the clock - maybe they would have if she had won the clock. Balance: Middle works a lot of the time... SD1: They need to start telling contestants off-tape to spin it around at least once. Grandy: I thought it was the Freeze Away...not sure the last time the contestant revealed something him/herself, particularly in this game. Car-and-1: Historic Moment (R)? It was a toughie, though: 16485 - 875 = 15610. Most contestants would definitely go -95, though not 595 I hope... Sidey: Arrgh. DOB... SCs: ...Missed hand signs?? 2900 or 29000, he's doomed, unless an expensive SC is ultra-garfed by the other player, and that wasn't happening with a Fusion. B+ Post by: goldroadfanatic on April 28, 2008, 03:45:35 PM Drew kind of faltered in Clock Game today; he said "lower" after Elena said $510, but then quickly corrected himself. I wonder if she would have had more time to go for the sofa if Drew said "higher" after that guess. It was great to see that Sharon's only key unlocked the car. That made for a suspenseful moment to see if she picked the dud or the car key. Also, I wonder why Drew asked her which key she wanted instead of letting her go up and take it herself. I don't think I have seen anyone check the weight of the bags in Balance Game like Autumn has. I can't figure out why she did that, but at least that sort of helped her make the correct decision to pick the $3000 bag, and win. Yay, 2 For the Price of 1 gets played for a car for the first time in the Carey era! I wonder if Andrew meant to bid $29,000 for his showcase. Also, isn't it a bit strange that the ARPs of today's showcases were only $89 apart from each other? Post by: howierules86 on April 28, 2008, 03:51:19 PM Clock Game: Elena could have performed a little better here, and probably would have won both prizes if she did. Master Key: Great car win here. Balance Game: Seems like the middle one's usually the one not supposed to be picked a lot lately. Grand Game: All right! Great $10K win! 2 for the Price of 1: When was the last time this game was played for a car? Too bad it was lost. Side By Side: I would have lost this one as well. Showcases: I think we have a winner for the "Major Garf of the Century" award - Andrew with his $2,900 bid. Post by: goldroadfanatic on April 28, 2008, 03:54:37 PM 2 for the Price of 1: When was the last time this game was played for a car? Too bad it was lost. Back on February 28, 2007. Post by: heelsrule1988 on April 28, 2008, 04:05:44 PM SHOW GRADE: 2 Post by: wpghi5 on April 28, 2008, 04:39:07 PM Master Key: Knew that humidifier was $35. Sharon got lucky though. The one and only key she got just earned her a new car. Balance Game: What was the big deal of Autumn lifting those bags up and down. As if she didn't believe the amount of Drew dollars were actually in that bag. Well just me. Regardless how it went out it ended with her winning that prize. $4628 was my guess too. Grand Game: I knew that lotion and the freeze away were the 2 items priced over $8.50. Great playing by Erin to win $10,000. 2 For The Price of 1: I knew $875 would be the price. Side By Side: Gut told me $4036 and I was right. SCSD #2: I wanted Christine or Erin to win. Showcases: Talk about going way back there. That bid would be good if this was still the 70s. Definitely a major garf big time! Even if Elena bid $10,000 she would still win. Knew Andrew would not go over yet he would not win either. Post by: ABBA on April 28, 2008, 05:47:27 PM Post by: BRB_TheFireball on April 28, 2008, 06:23:05 PM Sally Game: Eh, I've seen worse playings than that. Key: Yay! Master Key and (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y54/jordanar18/banana2.gif)(http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y54/jordanar18/banana2.gif)(http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y54/jordanar18/banana2.gif) ! :P Sharon got only one key out of the whole deal, but it was the one that mattered. Interesting observation: Who ever would've guessed that Master Key would have a better win percentage this season than Coming or Going? :-D Scales Game: That entertainment center kinda looks like the Check Game prop. :-D A new Local Union Guy must've been operating the scales today. The teetering was very... odd. After One-Bid #4: Did Erin adjust her bra while Drew was throwing to Rich's announcement of the upcoming game? :oldlol: Grandy: In the 4-hole! That Mylanta went up in price. Didn't it use to be $6.08? One-Bid #5: Not that dreaded water walker! 241: WHOO annual playing of 241 for a car! Tough choice between $875 and $895, but there was no excuse to put 5 as the first number. SC #1: Yay! Showcase '83 cue! :P $2,900?! That doesn't even cover the grill! Big-time :gotc: My showcase bids: New Zealand--$22,007 Car--$19,807 Result: Wow... only $89 separated the two showcases. That was just begging for a QSW in today's CSS. It's as if she thought by raising them up and down, she'd figure out their actual weight. Hey whatever works to win, right. Yeah except that that doesn't work. :) I can just picture it though...Roger carefully weighing the bags. :) Post by: SteveGavazzi on April 28, 2008, 06:59:08 PM Yay! Master Key! Balance Game was weird. I really don't think Autumn knew what the heck she was doing...it seemed like she was trying to guess the weight of the bags! If you asked her how she won the entertainment center, she probably couldn't tell you. Speaking of that, Drew probably ought to stop calling the gigantic bag labelled as the price of the prize "a visual clue" since, you know, it isn't. I'm not sure it would have helped Autumn -- what she was doing in the game seemed to go a bit beyond what that remark might have caused -- but still, it's misleading. By the way, did anybody notice that the prize in Balance Game was shaped exactly like Blank Check? :) 2 for the Price of 1 was hard. The second and third numbers both seemed like random guesses. Then again, Christine managed to get the fairly simple first number wrong, so I guess that doesn't matter. Side by Side was pretty hard, too. That just wasn't going to be won. Did anybody else think of A Trip Down Main Street during the second showcase? If you asked Andrew what was going through his head when he bid $2,900, I have a hunch he'd answer, "Not much." :) At least $29,000 wouldn't have won for him, either, so it isn't like he screwed himself. Post by: PriceFanArmadillo on April 28, 2008, 08:45:44 PM Key: Yay! :-DNot that unusual...guessing randomly, Master Key is a 40%-win game and CoG is 50%, but given that the SP's are usually easier than 50-50, I would expect the two to be fairly close. Now, to have a vastly different win percentage... :) Post by: thewhammy_2000 on April 28, 2008, 09:15:55 PM Master Key: I cringed, thinking Sharon got the nuthin' key when those other locks did not work. That was all thrown out when I saw that win sign pop up with bells. Balance Game: That slow balancing made me think we were going to get a quick loss here. Didn't happen. If I had a den/study, I would SO want my entertainment center to look like that. Grand Game: Remembering the Freeze Away from Let 'em Roll and the Gold Bond from Hole in One (from my taping), I went for the medication with confidence. 2 For the Price of 1: I'm sorry. Christine totally went against my strategy. I would've picked the second number for the freebie and picked the 8 and the 5 for the other two. I had a strong feeling it was over when she picked the first 5. Side by Side: I just have this thing about trips to Arizona costing in the $4000 range. Sorry, Andrew. And Sorry, Thomas. Showcases: I take back that sorry for that vewy, vewy low 2900 (first!) bid, Andrew. "I don't think that would cover the jukebox." There are some episode tapings I kinda wish I was on and this is one of them. Post by: 2008nowandthen on April 28, 2008, 10:18:02 PM Sharon was the worst offender of the bunch it seemed like. Post by: mmarlin on April 29, 2008, 09:12:39 PM If not, it's her double..... I think they should have added a second or two on to Clock Game, since Drew faltered. No "Techinical wins" but the extra seconds would have been fair Post by: edmojautis on May 02, 2008, 09:06:10 AM Master: Sharon pulled an amazing win by getting the CAR key. She deserved it if you ask me. Great job. Balance: Well, Autumn may have made this playing a bit odd, But she came out of it well. Good job. Grand: I went with the same four. Good win. 2 for 1: It was achoice between 875 or 895 for me. When Christine said 5 as the 1st digit, I predicted the worse. Side: 50/50 indeed. I would've loss this one, too. Showcases: I would've safely bid $19K on the Ford Fusion showcase. Andrew just had no chance at it after that disasterous bid. Drew did look out of it. But we all have our bad days. A 3.15-star show. |
