Title: My Third Documented PG Idea: Beat the House
Post by: tpir04 on January 28, 2019, 02:00:37 PM
The game is multi-purpose, meaning it can be played for a car or large prize. Four small prizes are brought out and described. The contestant must guess whether the price shown is true or false, as in Five Price Tags. For each price correctly identified, the contestant earns a chip. Those chips will be used to select cards from a row of ten. The contestant selects one card for the dealer, and then will make their selections from the nine remaining. Once he has made his choices, the dealer's card is revealed first. On the back will be a dollar value from $200, increasing by $200 up to $2000. Then, two of the player's cards are revealed. Drew will then offer the contestant a cash bailout equal to the amount of the two revealed cards. If the contestant declines, the last card is uncovered and if any of the three cards are higher than the dealer's, the player wins the large prize and the cash from all three cards.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Comments?

the last card is uncovered and if any of the three cards are higher than the dealer's, the player wins the large prize and the cash from all three cards.

How many cards again?

Between the four (or three?) SP descriptions, the card selections, the bailout option, and reveals, this is a long game. So the runtime is something you'd want to watch, probably would want to play it only for cars.

And it's an easy one. If they only win ONE card, they have a 50/50 shot of winning, since the odds of a randomly selected card being higher than any other randomly selected card are 50/50. What happens if the two cards Drew reveals are already greater than the one card?

The idea may be more workable if you play it to a certain predetermined total instead.

Mea culpa. I kind of invented this game within five minutes so there are a few holes. There are three small prizes and thus up to three cards. I don't know why I put the thing about the dealer's card being revealed first, because that was not my intention in the first place.

Between the four (or three?) SP descriptions, the card selections, the bailout option, and reveals, this is a long game. So the runtime is something you'd want to watch, probably would want to play it only for cars.
It would just have to be played before or after a quickie game. Even so, it wouldn't be much longer than Hot Seat.

Then again, it's only an idea. Many of my PG ideas are confusing anyway. Only the really good ones are those that I post here.

I like it. Almost like Five Price Tags meets Gas Money meets Baccarat.
