Title: Anitra Ford & Dian Parkinson: Actresses?
Post by: WarioBarker on August 03, 2006, 05:48:23 PM
Hey, folks.

From the book 'What Were They Thinking?' by David Hofstede:

#84 'The Wonder Woman Movie That Wasn't' (aired 3-12-1974 on ABC) mentions that Anitra played a character named Ahnjayla.

#51 'Fallen Angel', mentions that Dian auditioned for Charlie's Angels after season 3, when Kate Jackson left.

Can anyone shed some light on these things?

I believe the Wonder Woman movie starred Cathy Lee Crosby.  I remember watching it back then... it was nothing to remember but I do remember seeing Anitra fighting her.  GIRL FIGHT!

TV Land ran a special on Charlie's Angels during which they showed a list with the times different actresses auditioned to replace Kate Jackson. Dian was on the list along with Michelle Pfeiffer, Deborah Shelton and Shelley Hack who replaced Kate Jackson. In my opinion that was when Charlie's Angels Jumped the Shark.

Anitra was in Wonder Woman with Cathy Lee Crosby as Wonder Woman. It was awful, maybe if Anitra had been cast as Wonder Woman it would have been better. A blonde Wonder Woman, I don't think so, and the costume was dreadful.

Yes... that Wonder Woman movie DEFINATELY jumped the shark!!  The roles should have been switched!

What's funny is a few years later, we had a relative visit us from up north & we were watching ABC's "That's Incredible" when the relative mentioned that we were family to Cathy Lee.  Really? :-o   After the explaination of how... the Reader's Digest version is I'm on the other side of the tree a few branches down.  I told a few friends at school about it & they were going on and on about contacting her.  I was of the opinion she didn't need another relative looking like a freeloader wanting something.  Now looking back, maybe I should have tried to get an autographed photo... I dunno.

Speaking of acting, I just saw a little bit of a movie called "Friday" and in it was the lovely Kathleen. From what I saw she just had a really small part in the film. She was to play the part of a sexy next door neighbor.

I'm surprised no one mentioned it, but Anitra Ford was in the first few minutes of the original "The Longest Yard" with Burt Reynolds.

I remember posting something several months ago, about seeing Anitra in a softcore porn movie, something about female bees or some weird crap like that. It was very weird, to say the least ...

EDIT: Just checked on IMDB : Movie is called Revenge Of The Bee Girls

If you'd like to see more :
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0285503/

Here here is Dian's page :
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0662833/

An interresting note on both pages : They list both as appearing on The New Price Is Right a.k.a. The Price Is Right. Funny how they use the first title of the show, even though it would probably throw off many non G-R members ...
