1st time since 5/30/13 when The One Away Setup started with 3 of the same number wrong.I had to look at this setup via Scorpz to see what you're getting at. The fake was 31833 then - I guess you meant first time since then there was three of the same number in a fake, which sounds plausible. I'm also wondering if this is the first time there were at least two 0s in an OA ARP - it's almost definitely the first xx0x0, the question is whether x0xx0 has happened.

The bathroom especially today was a blatant use of trying to get the prize "declined" to make a win on-air not cost anything in the budget. It's very dirty and really shouldn't be done at all.
It probably depends on exactly what is included in the package. While the price number sounds really high at first glance, there are companies out there that do remodels that cost in the $8-9,000 range just for a shower (these are the ones that come in and take out everything including walls and redo plumbing and everything, so basically a completely new shower, and do it all in one day).
So if it's something like that, plus a fancy toilet with replacement and such, if one gets the right contestant it might just be taken (figuring the tax costs would be only a % of that price, and probably not a lot of cost difference from a more standard remodel, and also assuming the contestant needs a new bathroom).
Would you prefer that the show offer a bathroom without installation? That would end up declined even sooner. If the installation is so obscenely expensive, don't offer the bathroom at all. Most people buying houses just live with the bathrooms they have and don't install a damn thing, why spend a disproportionate amount of income on the bathroom of all places?
Have you ever owned a house for any significant length of time? Kitchens and bathrooms are probably the most remodeled rooms in a house... I, for one, would have *loved* this prize...See, that's great, but a remodeled bathroom is a very extensive prize that I can't imagine takes a short amount of time or inconvenience. Perhaps they could've put it in in parts, but I think that a majority of contestants would be hesitant about having something that can be quite the undertaking suddenly foisted on them, not knowing how quickly they'd have to use the prize. I don't think it's something that no one can use, but I don't think everyone is clamoring for one either and it's from that viewpoint I can see where Wayo is coming from.
