Jeez, did that woman play Race Game horribly. But Drew, during that game, reminded me so much of Bob (not so much in a good way this time) when he was trying to hurry the contestant along on Ten Chances one time, as she was taking up so much time.

It's so nice to see another That's Too Much win, and a $25,000 bonus on the Big Wheel. That guy made himself very popular, and I was rooting for him all the way from the beginning of his game. I was hoping for a DSW with how well he was doing, but he still had a fairly good bid.

And I hate all these special guests. 95% of them, I have no idea who they are, and today's was no exception for me. And everything else to me seemed very rushed just so they could get in more time with this "celebrity". I noticed right off the bat during the opening (between "...it's 'The Price is Right'..." and the first contestant called down) that it was very rushed.

It would have been kind of nice if there were an on-air announcement by Drew about the passing of Bob Stewart, like they had when Johnny Olson and Mark Goodson passed away. But it's good that they actually mentioned it in any way at all.

Megan was an awful Race Game player.

Great $25,000 win for Robert on the wheel, plus winning his Showcase.

Today's show was really good.   Robert's Big Wheel win was probably one of Drew's most genuine moments showing his care and excitement for the contestants.  It looked like Robert was trying to hold back some tears.  Definitely think a life was changed today.

Great show!

It appeared to be a nice show. We had some bad luck on Spelling Bee plus what appears to be one of the worst Race Game playings of all time. However, Robert killed it today! Beating TTM aka The Impossible Game, double dollar on the wheel, and hauling in a big Showcase? Awesome!

Also nice to see Switch? played for a reasonable price package - it usually seems like it's WAY overvalued ($10k+) or WAY undervalued (it was what, $2300-some last week?). This is how it always should be.

Oh, and I missed Bryan Clay :(

PS Vader - you incorrectly totaled Megan's winnings.
Fixed, Thanks ;)

SB: Poor Alicia; she's the second player this season to EXACTA an SP & STILL lose this game.

SBS: Easy.

Race: That was just NOT Megan's game.

H-L: The Peanut Gallery was right for once on singling out the makeup; too bad Thomas didn't take advantage & unknowingly lost right away.

TTM: Robert JUST NAILED THIS THING- he didn't hesitate much at all in going as far as he did & I don't think that gold medal that Drew gave him mattered at all!

S?: Good for Freya that she didn't agree w/ yours truly on Switching.

SCSD #2: Last week, we had our first $11K SCSD win in a while & this week, IT'S THE $26K'S TURN- WTG, ROB!!!!

Showcases: That BMW Showcase was just asking to be overbid on, IMHO, but Robert thankfully didn't & IS NOW THE THIRD-HIGHEST MALE WINNER IN DAYTIME "PRICE" HISTORY- YOU DESERVE IT, MAN!!!!!! For the record, both his cars were behind Door #2 (w/ the Sonata on the left); I thought for sure the Sonata & The Big Wheel were both going to be behind Door #3 like they were the last time a TTM winner won the Showcase a little over a year ago. Oh well.

Great show today thanks to you know who!

I think what makes the Race Game failure so frustrating is that we were presented one of the easier setups in that game.  Aside from overpricing the motorcycle and correcting that mistake with later permutations, what else could possibly be over $5,000?

The cheapo computer and the mega range with the non -99 motorcycle... that was a legitimate fail playing, but that also was anything but easy.

Not only was $3245 gas just stupid (it may have been semi-forced by the damn sponsor though), but that SC setup (assuming the Beamer was meant to be lost, of course) was yet again misguided.

Robert did such a great job today winning a car on TTM, winning 26 grand on big wheel and winning his showcase. Meagan played race game awfully today.

They clearly put a lot of time into making Bryan a really "special" guest today by making him the 3rd model, but it's funny how whenever they try to do that, something always happens that will outshine a "variety" element of the show. In this case, it was Robert's huge win. It was so great to see him play a very tough TTM setup well, and then see him near tears after striking good luck on the wheel. And then a BMW on top of that! You could tell he was an LFAT and really excited to get all of his prizes - that made the show.

The rest of this show wasn't terrible either, although there was a bit too much Bryan Clay. Why are we finding it necessary to script jokes in again, as in OB5? Just let humor happen naturally please - the show is crunched for time enough as it is (and it was edited to shreds today!) Still, it's always nice to see Bee show up, even if we ran into a tough-luck playing, and today was generally set up to do quite well, with even Bee left pretty open. The only super hard game (TTM) was actually won, so there you go. Despite the overuse of Bryan, this was easily the best show we've had in awhile.

Timings:
Spelling Bee (6) - 5:31
Side By Side (3.5) - 2:43
Race Game (5) - 4:45
Hi Lo (5) - 4:53
That's Too Much (5) - 4:09
Switch? (3.5) - 2:38
Total (28): 24:39

Spelling Bee:  Painful loss!
Side By Side, That's Too Much, Switch?:  Nice wins! :-)
Race Game:  Painful to watch - Megan played it horribly &, IMO, the range was evil.
Hi Lo:  Evil IMO.
SCSD#2:  Great to see a $26,000 win!
Showcase:  Too bad Robert didn't win both showcases, but still a great win! :-)

Great start to the week, IMHO!

Because we all know adding a moonroof sexes up a BMW.

^Steptronic certainly raised it up. The point is, we've seen the BMW 128i before, it starts below 30, and I'd hope most of us are aware of it.

Anyways... it's been a long time since there's a scripted OB. Let's not have it ever again, please.

Steptronic is listed as a $0 Option on BMW's website. Also, the 128i Starts at $32,095 (incl Destination), the moonroof is listed as $1,050 making it $33,145.

...Then just how little were the shoes? :P Geez.

Again though, clearly Mike was thinking that showcase would be overed. But he of all people should know many luxury cars have been bid on as if in the 20s.

We're only a few weeks away from the Summer Olympics in London, so it's about time the show had on an Olympic athlete.  At least it gets Daniel Goddard off of the show for a while.

About damn time that Spelling Bee showed up.

We've seen some bad Race Game players over the years.  Megan was definitely one of the worst.

I don't believe it.  Somebody won That's Too Eighth!  And then Robert hits up the Big Wheel for $26,000 and wins a BMW that 99% of people (including me) would overbid.  He definitely deserves his own gold medal for that.

Really, couldn't they have put more into that BMW showcase besides the shoes?  The gas doesn't count because that's technically part of the car.

My showcase bids:
Safari--$24,107
BMW--$40,107

I'm surprised that somebody on the current TPIR staff actually took the time to throw up a quickie in memoriam to the late Bob Stewart right at the end of the show.  One, it seemed like an afterthought to them as they didn't bother to put together a proper on-air tribute (as, for example, WOF did when Merv Griffin and Charlie O'Donnell passed away).  Two, I'm surprised that they did it, considering how they've been going out of their way the past five seasons to phase out anybody associated with when TPIR was still good.  Third, I didn't think that anybody on the current staff besides Stan and Scott even knew who Bob Stewart was.

The biggest highlight of today's show, and pretty much this whole season, is Robert! He was truly a very lucky and most awarding contestant as he won That's Too Much for a Hyundai Sonata, got $26,000 on the big wheel and won his showcase which had a BMW!!

This is almost similar to Taylor from S37 who also won big with L7, $26K on the wheel, and won his showcase that had a Charger. However, Robert won $86,760 and Taylor won $79,897, so Robert won $6863 more than Taylor. So either way, history has really repeated itself.

Megan really didn't even bother trying on Race Game which led to a wipeout.............and that did made her one of the worst players of that game so far.

Spelling Bee was back only to get bombed, no thanks to Alicia unfortunately.

Hi-Lo wasn't that hard for me........Thomas should've picked the Unisom, Aspercreme, and the Allegra for the most expensive and he could've won.

Deborah and Freya did good on Side-By-Side and Switch?, so all in all, a truly awesome 3/6 show!!!

Yeah, the 2011 was the one that started below 30. BMW's stepped up their game for the end of the world.

A. Of course they know and would mention who he was. Drew has made a pretty big deal of contestants who have been on the Cullen version or directly related to someone who was.

B. It is sad, but considering they packed this show to the gills with Bryan and had this planned to air first, they did the best they could do with time. Very nice of them.

Race Game was bad. She clearly didn't listen to Drew and pretty much didn't think about what she was doing. She was too worried about having the audience placing the tags for her that by the time she realized she was being timed she was left with ludicrous guesses.

Spelling Bee! Small Prize Exacta! And a loss. Wow. Tough luck.  :-(

That's Too Much better get some wins late in the season. Excellently played.

With the right people, luck, and Robert still playing That's Too Much, this was definitely a show setup for 5/6 or perfection.

Will CNAOS ever return? This is my Young and the Restless. Who Shot CNAOS? (hint: time might be the culprit)

Great Big Wheel win. I love 25K wins. Great job.

Really an all around great show to start the week, even with the guest.

Not only was $3245 gas just stupid (it may have been semi-forced by the damn sponsor though)

I'm assuming the price of "gas for a year" is based on $X per gallon and an estimate of annual consumption (1000 gallons or so?) I don't think they just made it up.

For everyone complaining about Bob Stewart, he died on Friday so they haven't even had any technical workdays yet that they COULD tape something (as they do Monday-Wednesday tape weeks). So they must have decided flashing something today and having it be timely was better than taping something later and having it be not-as-timely. I was happy they did flash it on such short notice.

Now you're just being a cynic. Let's remember episodes are not taped one day before they air, I was just surprised they managed to get any message at all on this episode, there probably will be an on-air message by Drew in a future episode as well...Also, the pir.com crew put together this http://priceisright.com/blog/entry/4603

Spelling Bee: The game got good when Alicia got the Exacta. However, after the third card, I got worried, predicting she'll get at least two C's and two A's to spell out something; but I was wrong on that, too.

Side by Side: Figuring it would be a short flight, I went for the 6990.

Race Game: Even though Megan is like a modern Cinderella version of my girlfriend, all I could say was, "She's []ing up the game! She's []ing up the game! She's []ing up the game! She []ed up the game! She []ed up the game!"

Showcase Showdown 1: Redemption after bombing Race Game? Maybe.

Hi-Lo: At first I thought $5.51 might be a good price; however, I did forget about the children's allergy medicine. Unfortunate.

That's Too Much!: One of the few times I actually gave a Price contestant a standing ovation.

Switch?: Without looking at the prizes or anything (just using my ears), I immediately knew Switch? would be played instead of Bargain Game.
Kinda miss Bargain Game now...

Showcase Showdown 2: Standing Ovation 2.

Showcases: "So help me, Bob [Barker, not Stewart. Well maybe Stewart] if Robert wins his or both Showcases."
Standing Ovation 3. I guess wearing that gold medal was lucky.

Once again, a reason to watch the credits: The mention of Bob Stewart. Lately, I would just see if there would be another ineligible contestant or some other technicality. This time, I just watched all the credits and there it was.

Well, this was an interesting show. It had a bit of everything: easy setups, hard setups, easy setups that wrapped around to hard (more on that in a bit), bad luck, amazing luck, good gameplay and horrid gameplay.

Spelling Bee was just horrid luck.

Side by Side was easy.

Race Game was set up kind of hard, but it was played absolutely horribly.

Hi Lo was an anomaly. On the surface, it was a ridiculously easy setup: the most expensive items were the three medicinal ones. However, those of us who've been around the block are apt to view anything that seems that easy as a trap... which makes this a case of "hard for LFaT's, easy for the innocent". It's rather backwards. Hard to tell, though, if Thomas was thinking along the lines of "one of those medicines must be a trap" or not.

That's Too Much was played extremely well; very few are willing to press on that far to find that magic price.

Switch? was also easy for the typical contestant but might have tripped up those on the lookout for traps.

And Robert, after already winning TTM off a tough setup, runs away with the rest of the show! First, getting $26K on the wheel, then not getting fooled by a cheaper model of BMW and winning it! Must have been that gold medal.  :P Way to really make the show, Robert!

Speaking of the gold medal, though, they used Clay too much in this show...

And a nice little quick tribute to the late Bob Stewart at the end, which I thought was a nice touch. Maybe they'll give an on-air tribute to him once they actually have the opportunity to tape it...

It's great to see a good contestant like Robert have such a good day.  It's not often somebody wins That's Too Much!, $25,000 on the Big Wheel, and the Showcase.

Drew hosted Spelling Bee surprisingly well today.  Actually, he was good for just about the whole show, his sometimes awkward interactions with Bryan Clay (who?) notwithstanding.

Is $5,299 the highest price Race Game has ever used outside of the cars?

Is it just me, or did something about the end of Megan's spin look edited?

This is almost similar to Taylor from S37

There is no such thing as "almost similar."

I think the $6,130 fridge that was common on MDS's and Train Depots has that honor, Steve.  It was offered on the first Season 35 playing of Race Game (with a total payout of over $16,000, no less!), IIRC.

What a day for Robert! I'm so happy for him. He couldn't even believe that he won so much.
I never knew about that Spelling Bee rule, where if you guess the exact price of an item, you get the rest of the cards automatically. Too bad that we couldn't the "R," though.

This episode will re-air on August 13th, so if you missed out on capturing video of Robert's big day, that day will be your second chance.

I think I will take up that offer and hopefully get a proper recording this time. I won't be around to edit it for two weeks after that, though.

It's not re-airing at all, according to the latest re-run reschedule change at priceisright.com. Sorry.

Oh come off it...

Is that really necessary?

was it just me or the episode they re-aired monday wasn't this episode? I think it was the episode from 6-18-2012 instead.
