Lucky $even was WAY too hard today - I'm surprised he made it to the last number.

The lineup seemed way too short - with One Wrong Price and Double Prices, I was expecting a longer game to show up than Lucky $even for the car.

With that said, Drew was decent today, and the showcases were pretty good.

A bit of a better show than yesterday.

-Cover: This was an exciting playing. 19/29 was a complete toss-up. Worth the rare loss 9/10
-OWP: Definitely not that cheap. 9/10
-OB3: Absolute fail. SHOOT THE GREEN SCREENS! -2
-Grocery: Odd apple-day. She was a bit conservative going one each, but none of those were <2.00 (assuming on the pie), so it was hard as expected for Viking stuff. 8/10
-SD1: ... Odd. 3/5
-DP: A bit of a toss-up. 9/10
-Punchy: Not a bad way to end the season. Another rare loss 9/10
-L7: ...No fair. :( 8/10
-SD2: Another fail spin?? 4/5
-SC1: Not too bad. 4/5
-SC2: A bunch of random things in there...but at least the car was there. :D 4.5/5
-Results: Random stuff went low then high. 8.5/10
-Drew: 8/10

PGs: 52/60
SDs: 7/10
SCs: 17/20
Drew: 8/10

84 - 2 = 82 --> B-

I only saw the last bit of it, but it looked like a good show.

The first showcase sure seemed cheap, though.

I'm very familiar with that shampoo.  Mostly because it's cheap.  Where I shop--and it's not Wal*Mart, mind you--that same shampoo is $1.13.  Though by now, I really should be used to everything they buy being incredibly overpriced.  That's not even nearly as outrageous as the sugar in Pick a Pair earlier this week, even....

The setup in Lucky Seven today was evil. Cover Up was exciting to watch, though.

Though, it was an interesting episode, I'll get to the descriptions on the double.

Cover Up: Painful loss, with the 1 or 2 crapshoot. I lost as well on that same number.
One Wrong Price: Horray, a win for this game!
Grocery Game: I went over $21 on this playing, and I can see why. It was set up for a loss. Kathy, where do you shop?
Double Prices: Yep, it was easy today.
Punch-a-Bunch: That was a good decision to take the $5,000 and go. The SPs were easy for once.
Lucky $even: Greco, Greco, Greco...why must you set up games so evilly? I went broke on the third digit. (I went with 5 for the first, and then 9) This was a forced loss at its worst. >.<

Not a bad show, but it had its moments.

Cover Up: Tough loss.

One Wrong Price: The china was kinda faking me out.

O.B. #3: The green screens need to go away.  :oldevil:

Grocery Game: Suave is going up I see.

Double Prices: Nice win.

Punch-a-Bunch: “Take the $5,000 and run!”  :-D

Lucky Seven: He started out well, and ultimately got burned with yet another evil setup.

Showcases: Decent showcases. Not a lot of trips today.

Not a bad show today. We had our ups and downs.

Not a bad show today. Good contestants. Pretty good lineup. Drew was more enthusiastic than usual IMO.

Painful Cover Up loss. I thought she had it.

That was probably the easiest OWP since Roger left.

Act 3 just reeked of fail today. Green screen fail, plug fail (IIRC on the shampoo near the end of the description), then a loss in the game. I'm not really sure what was with the whole "apple" theme today in Grocery. And wow, those appliances really do get expensive. Rarely do you see a non-car prize of over 10K in a fee game.

DP: I always thought the Alaskan Cruises were $$$$$? Must be thinking of something else.

Good to see one last Punchboard playing. And a nice haul to boot. Now Plinko is almost definitely tomorrow.

Seriously Bullseye I would be easier to win than some of these L7 setups we've been seeing. Ridiculous. I hoped since they were nice in TTM earlier in the week, they wouldn't be so evil here. No such luck, though.

SC1: Vegas just reeked of cheap to me. The mirror TV and jukebox both looked really cool, though.

SC2: Wow another car in the showcases! But, kinda weird it was the same car we just saw not too long ago.

Can't believe there's just one more left. Even though it hasn't been the greatest season, it's still been fun discussing the show we all love here. Now, let's go out with some nice wins tomorrow!

Models on Surfboards! In bikinis! In my book, nothing wrong with some innocent eye candy. Looks like they're relaxing the standards a bit (though not enough to bring back Bump! or anything).

Grocery Game seems ridiculous with all the prizes so closely priced. Shouldn't there be a prize worth less than $1 so people don't get stuck?

When the heck is the last time we saw a Second Chance in Puncy? Seems like forever. I also got to wondering what the optimal Punchy strategy is with 1/2/3 punches left. $5000 seems worth keeping no matter what, but what if he got $1000?

I really hope not.  I'd really rather something depressingly rare show up tomorrow.  Plus Plinko was already played this week.

Well, with all the items as close as they were, I would recommend 'not getting stuck' to begin with.  :)

$25,000+$10,000+3x$5,000 = $50,000, and since you have less than 50 slips left on the board (we had to punch at least one to get the $1,000, right?), the expected value of any unseen hole is more than $1,000.

I personally found the surfboards modeling, as ridiculous as it may seem, was absolutely hilarious. I can't tell whether it was serious or joking in the fashion they used the green screens but I just laughed the entire time.

With the theme, I was wondering why Grocery didn't get played for, of all things obvious, some Apple package.  :P

Lucky 7? Oh please, rename it Fail 7 or You're-Not-Going-To-Win-Ever-With-My-Setup 7. I'm amazed he nailed the first two numbers on the nose, but from experience, I knew for sure guessing a 5 on the last digit, anytime in this game nowadays, results in a loss. It was going to be very high or very low, and that 5 wasn't going to cut it at all.

Sure, the trip sounds luxurious and all, but if you still have to throw in $3000 cash for the sake of boosting up the Showcase value, it's no wonder you're cheap / supposedly considerate / busting the budget on non-essentials. Save all that money, and show me 3 Strikes. With a nice, expensive car. Please.

I'm sure today's car accessories would've gone extremely well with yesterday's ultimate garage.  :P

Hey, that does seem pretty easy. Since the value of each hole is at least $1000, you should always chuck $1000 or less. And always keep $5000 or more.

Even simpler than the wheel strategy: http://wizardofodds.com/askthewizard/askcolumns/askthewizard101.html

Never understood why people refuse to follow the Plinko strategy: http://wizardofodds.com/askthewizard/115

If it's a strategy (I'm neither confirming nor denying it), I doubt many people know of this strategy.  I didn't know of it.

Drew was once again surprisingly good.  I loved the way he handled 1 Wrong Price, and he was appropriately excited during Punch a Bunch.

Lucky $even was a rollercoaster of emotions...seeing the contestant almost bomb out on the fourth number after getting the second and third exactly right was painful.

The Showcase was actually pretty decent for once.

You know what bugs me most about the Showcase this season?  It's not the scripts...it's that they've had trips in them every single day for four months.  Part of the beauty of the Showcase is supposed to be that you never know what might show up in it...but that can't be said anymore, and it kills a lot of the anticipation and even makes the trips less exciting.

Good to see one last Punchboard playing. And a nice haul to boot. Now Plinko is almost definitely tomorrow.

Tomorrow isn't the season finale...and besides, Plinko was played on Monday.

No, but then there's the REAL problem with today's presentation...

I personally found the surfboards modeling, as ridiculous as it may seem, was absolutely hilarious. I can't tell whether it was serious or joking in the fashion they used the green screens but I just laughed the entire time.

Toss aside what the ladies were doing in presenting the boards - that to me was pretty good improv. But the greenscreen treatment was absolutely pathetic. Because the greenscreen caused part of her surfboard to disappear in the main shot, Amber appeared to be riding air instead. We know she's a talented person - but defiance of gravity?

Greenscreen seems like a good idea on paper, but today's presentation once again brought out its shortcomings, and that's not good. Things shouldn't appear transparent when they're not supposed to be.

Cover:  Clarice made a fatal mistake on her second attempt.  She picked 3 for the fourth number, with 3 already lit up as the correct third number--a big no-no.  Doubling up on numbers doesn't occur unless they're the first two digits (such as $22,xxx).  Had she not taken that 3, she would've won.

1WP:  Easy.

One-Bid #3:  Shoot the green screen!  Yes, models on anything do make good TV, but the green screen just ruins the mood for me.

Grocery:  Five products with apples in them... very nice.  But not for trying to get between $20-$21.  The prices of those five items could've been about anything.

Punchy:  Yay for a normal picture on the $25,000 bill!  Good to see Joshua punch $5,000 right off the bat, but where the hell is that $25,000?!

L7:  Argh!  I thought Charles had that car in the bag after he nailed the first two numbers.  I had a feeling that Kathy would stick a 1 in one of those final two spots.

My showcase bids:
Room/Vegas--$17,507
Jeep--$25,507

Grocery Game:  Shoulda went with 3 shampoos instead of only one.
Punch A Bunch:  Not bad.  I think they should change the distribution of slips to the following:

2-$25,000
3-$10,000
5-$5,000
10-$1,000
10-$500
10-$250
10$100
4-Second Chance

Lucky Seven:  Those last 2 numbers were evil!

An okay show overall, IMHO.

Lucky 7 last is awesome, but these Lucky 7 setups we've seen most the year are just awful a-w-f-u-l and pretty much border on the unfair.

A 9-1-8 to end things? No, that was unwinnable. I'm surprised Charles nailed that 9 but it disgusted me to see that 1 pop up in the 4th hole.

**Yawn** Another trip offered in the Showcases. **Yawn** Wake me when it's over.

Cover: I actually went along with Clarice thinking 1 was the next-to-last digit and we both were duped.  :-(

OWP: So obvious.

IUFB #3: Those green screens need to get the hell out of here!!!!

Grocery: I know what the theme here is.....LEMONMELBERLIME!!!!! Am I smart or what?   :oldlol: :D :-D Arianne's quantities are sure limited. Too bad.

Double: Nice.

Punch: Nice $5K win to cap off the year!!!

Lucky 7: I had fears galore when Charles got to the fourth digit and guessed 6. When will the madness end?

Showcases: I wonder why Showcase #2 beats the hell out of the "Ultimate Garage" showcase anytime of the week?  :-D

A 2.75-star show.
