Title: Your own TPIR ep
Post by: silverice878 on January 20, 2011, 06:46:48 PM
If you ran TPIR for a day, which games would you have (retired can be included), and what would the prizes be?? Here's mine:

1. Golden Road for a $198,000 Lamborghini Gallardo
2. 5 Price Tags for a '53 red and white Chevy Corvette
3. Hi-Lo for a 2011 Challenger
4. Safe Crackers for a 2011 Camaro (5-digit lock)
5. Pocket Change for a 2011 Chevy Silverado
6. Balance Game '06 for a 2011 Ford Mustang

What are yours???

Haha, no one else can do a show now because the prize budget on your show just put The Price is Right on hiatus for the next three years.

Talk about running literally for a day....You'd be fired tomorrow for making the show go into major debt and possibly responsible for it's cancelling. Even the $100K Tesla Roadster was pushing it...

Not only the show but probably the entire network. Plus The Balance Game isn't really suitable for Cars

First, we'll assume David Lawrence is announcing since the other 4 are otherwise engaged. Also, I'm assuming the luxury car of the week wasn't used yet.

1) Double Prices (trip to Tokyo, RT coach LA, 6n)
2) (It's) In The Bag for the usual stakes
3) Any Number for a Chevy HHR (small prize is a Wii + games)
4) Clock Game for a fancy recliner and table set (bonus prize: living room group)
5) Bullseye for a hot tub
6) Hole in One for a Ford Escape

Showcases:
"Solomon Barker, Relationship Counselor" - Starring Jeff Davis as the titular counselor, and the other three candidates as gentlemen having difficulty in their relationships. Prizes: 60" HDTV, African safari, Chrysler PT Cruiser.
"Long Live The King" - A tribute to Elvis. Trips are to Memphis, London (better than San Francisco for the Jailhouse Rock sequence) and a Cadillac, preferably pink.

Not only the show but probably the entire network. Plus The Balance Game isn't really suitable for Cars
Balance Game has been played for cars on the real show many times.  That's why it was given a 5-digit price display.
And why are so many in this thread focused on the budget effects?  That doesn't matter in a fantasy lineup.

Anyway, mine would be:
1. Super Ball!!! (for 3 cars: Ford Mustang, Cadillac CTS, Corvette)
2. Three Strikes (For a BMW)
3. Push Over (for a speedboat)
4. Race Game (for a pool table, hot tub, HDTV, and an Apple computer)
5. Hole in One (for a Toyota Prius)
6. Bump (for trips to London and Paris)

My lineup would be:

1. Punchboard
2. Hurdles for a steam shower
3. Temptation for a Dodge Challenger, desktop computer, iPod set, watch and $5200 in cash
4. Shell Game for a Jet-Ski
5. Bonkers for a trip to London
6. 10 Chances for a digital camera, widescreen TV and a 1954 Mercedes Gullwing

Why not? BigJon did it with his game, and it works fine. Besides, I thought they did that on the real game, occassionaly...

Well...I could just recycle one of the lineups and prizes from one of my HYO shows, but I won't...I'll write a new one with some prizes.

Clock Game (3-digit clock and a 3-digit piece computer; bonus prize $1000 cash, and nothing else.)
Card Game (car in the $18-$20K range...still using the $12K starting bid)
Grand Game ($10K)
Shopping Spree (four trips...yes, I am that evil :D)
Shell Game (room of furniture in the $5-$6K range, using the old $500 bonus)
Lucky Seven ($21-$25K range car)

...how does that time out?

If we're being realistic, probably the Coach range.  The thing about Master Key is that it is one of the few games where the actual price of the prizes is never given, but the non-car prizes are generally in the $1000-$2500 range.

(As for the specific brand...that probably depends on which brands are still on speaking terms with the show.  I know at least one has objected to a show as 'crass' as The Price is Right diluting their brand.)

Can the Barker era be included as well ?  Here's mine:

Most Expensive (retired 1984-2009 set): Daybed, Gallery Clock, and Bumper Pool Table (second thoughts is the cue),
Grocery Game: Trip to New York City,
Temptation: Sportscar (bean stalker is the cue), Flatware, 2 electric guitars, Motorscooter, Gas Range w/ self cleaning oven,
Punch A Bunch (old setup & podiums and the $10k sign on the turntable) $10,000 cash,
Safe Crackers: Snowmobile & Snowmobile hemlets w/ goggles (phaser is the cue),
Money Game: Jeep 4x4 (spelling bee car cue).

Showcase 1: "Around the World" His and Hers Luggage, Trips to Hawaii, Australia, and Italy.
Showcase 2: "TPiR Train Depot" (chatanooga choo-choo is the cue) Dinette, Barbeque Grill, Spa.

I'm actually taking mine one step further, I'm actually putting my own classic TPiR's on sketch paper !  I've written down my own TPiR show (what I listed above) on scrap paper and now I'm drawing it out.  I've decided to go with the Barker era for mine, taking place in the early-mid 90s, the old big doors w/ just the logo, the red turntable carpeting, Bob is the host and Rod is the announcer.

True. I did see an episode on youtube recently (I think it was Swap Meet? Easy as 1-2-3? Something like that) that had a collection of Marc Jacobs bags.

Hmmm.

1. Pathfinder - Ford F150
2. Grocery Game - home theater system (flat-panel LCD HDTV, DVD player, full sound system)
3. Bullseye, whichever version they play now - trip to Holland
4. I'm thinking Professor Price, just to give today's audiences a "WTF is that?!!", but in seriousness: It's in the Bag.
5. Money Game - 1958 Plymouth Fury. Red & white.
6. Hit Me - bedroom group; a dark wood sleigh bed and matching dresser and armoire

Showcase 1: Round the world - NYC, Munich, Sydney
