Title: ASja2002's The Price is Right
Post by: ASja2002 on November 30, 2010, 06:56:04 PM
This is my first attempt at putting together a HYO version of the Price is Right . For the most part, I will be using the 1994 Doug Davidson Version. There are a few slight changes  that I will mention in this Introduction as I go Along

After the deadline for entries/guesses passes, the show will start. If you are called to come on down, you will get a PM as welll as the announcement in the game.

4 people will get picked at random to come to contestants row. Then a small prize will be presented. The person closest to the actual price(without going over) will come on stage to play a pricing game.

You will have 48 hours maximum to make your decisions as they come up. If you don't chime in, or ask for an extension( in case you have an emergency or can't get back to the game) within a reasonable time, you will automatically bid $10000/lose the game, we don't want that

After three games, we will have the showcase showdown. In my version, you will decide how hard or soft you want to spin the wheel by picking 2 numbers from 1 to 100 and where you want to stop if the first spin is enough.

The winner of the showcase showdown will move on to the Grand Showcase final. You will pick a number from 1 to 9, and the margin of error will be revealed, from $4000 to $20000. Then you will see the showcase. At the end you will need to put in your bid. if your bid is within the range you picked, without going over, you win the showcase. If you are within $250 of the price without going over, regardless of range, you win a $250,000 bonus(We want to see this happen :)    )

Signups are open, in 48 hours(or when 12 people have signed up) the game shall begin.

Good Luck

After each correct elimination, you can take the money you have earned and go back to your seat or continue.
if there is a pink slip, mores the pity.
At the end if you leave the correct price of the Lincoln, you win the car plus $10,000 in Cash!!!

Ok Prizes, pick an amount that is NOT the price of that Beautiful Lincoln

I see what you did there for a Big Door, revamping the site's logo- that's really cool, actually. Your interpretations of pricing games, while different, are really a sight to behold; like Safe Crackers, too. Nice work.

Anyway, I think $50,120 is too high; let's get rid of that tag first.

Prizes wants to get rid of $50,120, and we see...
GAS MONEY

        $47,140    $48,260   $48,580   $49,170    $2000

(Ding Ding Ding)(applause)

You have $2,000. Now, you can take that money or continue. Remember, If you eliminate the right price of the car, you lose the $2,000 you have.
What is your decision??
Title: Re: ASja2002's The Price is Right: PG3

Keep going. I'll take the $48,580 tag off, next, please.

Prizes22 has chosen to continue(applause) and has chosen $48,580... we want to see money... we see..........

                                                GAS MONEY

$47,140      $48,260
      $1,000      $49,170    $2,000

(Ding Ding Ding)
You are up to $3,000!!(Applause)
You have eliminated two tags correctly. You can take that money and go back to your seat or keep going. There is still $7,000 and the Lincoln on the board... What would you like to do??

Title: Re: ASja2002's The Price is Right: PG3

Keep going! $47,140, off you go!
Title: Re: ASja2002's The Price is Right: PG3
Post by: ASja2002 on December 12, 2010, 02:15:31 AM
Prizes wants to make $47,140 a thing of the past, will it be a historical mistake, or a blessing for the ages.........
                                GAS MONEY
$4,000   $48,260  $1,000   $49,170   $2,000

(Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding)(Audience cheers wildly)

It's  $4,000!!!!!!  Now, Prizes22... You've come this far. You now have $7,000 in Cash!!!!!  You have one last decision. One that could be worth $10,000 and the Lincoln, or nothing at all. You can try to get rid of the last wrong price, leaving the correct price and the car title on the board, or take $7,000 and run. If you choose incorrectly, you lose everything. Two prices remain...$48,260, and $49,170...What will your pleasure be?????

                      GAS MONEY

$4,000       $3,000     $1,000   CAR    $2,000

Ooo, so much to love in that showcase! Too bad that seems REALLY hard to price; at least I can still garf and win. I can always use another car, always wanted a 3D TV, and Wii... wow this REALLY is something else. If I can get within $250 of this, I think I'd be correct in guessing that this would be the largest non-MDS winnings on this forum. Ummm, ummm, as I gasp for air, I'll bid, ugh, WOW...

Wow, that was an amazing end to the show. Prizes22 is the first Showcase Champion on my series,(the only one at that)

Winnings Recap

Prizes22:$193,111
TPIRighteous:$14,547
WooWho:$7,577
FrenchFan, Rlotpir1972, Shieldsy101, Masterlock(the audience member) Ocean Spray Juice, Quaker Oats, Active-On, 12 12-Pks of Sprite Zero, Nintendo Dsi with TPIR 2010 Game, $200 courtesy of Lobster Hut(Not a bad Consolation Prize Package

A few notes about the show

1. I know that some of the IUFBs threw a few people off where the price was so low. I had originally planned for the entire audience to participate in a Contestant's Row style Pricing test, similar to the way the players are picked at the stage shows, and have the three best bidders come on stage. After conversation with SideshowPA on the administration of such a game, I decided to scrap that aspect of my game and recycle what would have been used for the pricing test as IUFBs. Hence 10 snuggies instead of one, a Kitchenaid to go with the blender, and 4 DS XLs instead of 1.

2.WooWho clearly saw my inspiration in the Showcase Showdown. Too Bad the Mustang didn't leave the Garage

3. I chose to go with the European/Atinale II Showcase Game, so as I could include a bonus for near perfection in that game(similar to a DSW)

4. The Breakdown of the Showcase:

Ipod 16GB Nanos ($179 each)              $        358
Nintendo wii with 5 games                     $       399
Ipod Touch 64GB Pair($399 each)       $           798
2 apple iPad(16GB standard)             $           998
HTC Evo/1 Year Plan                           $       1,159
2 LCD LED 3D HDTV                              $       7,998
2011 5 dollar bills                            $  10,055
Corvette ZR1                                    $111,500
--------------------------------------------------------------
Grand Total                                         $133,265.00

5. Special thanks to SideshowPA, all the players, and everyone on the Daytime TPIR, for without their help, this HYO would not have happened

Thanks Again, a Dream has been fulfilled.

FANTASTIC bid. Wow.

Thanks a bunch, I appreciate it!

My reasoning goes as follows: I knew the Apple products because I buy them a lot (for instance, buying an iPad recently really helped out). I'm always in the market for a new phone, too. As a friend of mine on this board know, I'm getting a Wii this Christmas, so I know the price of that, because it has to be budgeted for. Finally, you can't garf the cash, and the car was a guess, a shot in the dark; I figured, based on the word "fastest" means at least 100K, add in a little more for the features mentioned.

WOW! I won... that was incredible! I can't believe it, what a game, man, I'm so happy! YESSS!

Host again Steve, your games are awesome... I love your designs, this is great stuff. I want more of your hosting, it's that good!

Thanks Prizes, A lot of work and planning went into preparing the game. You truly get a feel of what the producers go through in getting a show to air. All the graphics were done in paint except the website doors for the Lincoln in Gas Money. I have good experience in doing stop motion and other videos on youtube, so thats how the win designs came about. The 3 chord TPIR94 win sequence is something I absolutely wanted for the game. The Bruce's PIR open has a double sting at the end of the intro. I remixed it for a triple with all the appropriate sfx included. It is truly a labor of love and a tribute to an American institution

Fantastic job, Steve.  I'd recommend making the Showcase bid/range/ARP numbers a little bigger to make them easier to read for next time.  Other than that, a wonderful show!
