The very rare version hosted by Garry Meadows

What does Garry mean when he says Prize bank?

Has the exact the same effect as all other Reg Grundy-produced knock-offs of American game shows--I feel like I'm watching something beamed in from an alternate (but extremely similar) universe.

What....exactly was this that I just watched?

I feel like I'm watching something beamed in from an alternate (but extremely similar) universe.

I don’t think one could come up with a much more accurate description than this.

You described it the best, They cloned our sets and add their own spices to it.

If you think that's crazy you should see The Price is right Thailand set

I assumed he meant the contestant's winnings total, but based on this short clip, her bid on the fur coat was apparently what would determine her place in the Showcase round instead of her winnings total.

Pretty fascinating to watch anything from Australian television in the early 70's, especially TPIR, but aside from the above and the unintentionally funny music knockoffs, this really didn't seem too different from the Barker/James episodes of the same era.

I dunno...I'd say playing Double Prices for a prize that's not the one being used to play the game is pretty different.

You know I just checked out their show the open of it anyway....and the oddest thing about it to me is NO MAIN THEME. It just keeps repeating Walking right through the host entrance. That sounds incredibly strange. It doesn't seem right lol.

There is a main theme. You can here a subtle change in the music. But the audio isn't the best so it's hard to differentiate. The theme is pretty close to the "inverted" U.S. theme used on Ian Turpie's incarnation.

I meant the Thailand show. Not the old Australian one.
