Title: CJ's Price is Right - Episode 2 - THE BIG FINALE!
Post by: CJBojangles on May 12, 2009, 11:18:27 AM
That was so much fun, I've got to do it again. Here it comes! Episode #2 of CJ's Price is Right!

In our first show, we gave away over $130K in cash and prizes. Let's top that this time and have a DSW, shall we? The same guidelines as the previous show apply, but here's a refresher:

This show will begin Thursday, May 14, 2009 @ 12:00pm EST, or whenever I reach 15 contestants, whichever comes first.

Good luck! :)

RICH: A NEW TRUCK!!! (Music sting #2) (cheers and applause)

And Steve, I don't think I have to tell you where this is going. Just OPEN THOSE BIG GREEN DOORS!

RICH: Steve, IT'S A NEW CONVERTIBLE!!! (Music sting #3) (wild applause)

That's right, Steve! It's Triple Play! You can't win just one car, or two, you HAVE to win all three cars in this game. Let's get started! Tell us about that first car, Rich!

RICH: OK, CJ. First, it's the Chevrolet Aveo 4-door LT! Comes with standard features and 4-speed automatic transmission. The Chevy Aveo!

Check out these two prices, Steve. Neither of these is the price of that car. BUT, it's your job to tell me which is closest to the actual retail price without going over. Tell me, is it $12,875 or $15,290? If you're right, we move on to the truck.

Not Steve's best game. Steve, this will be your favorite game if you win these three cars. He says $19,450. And if we see the word "Yes" behind it, we're going to the Pontiac Solstice. Is there a YES?

BUZZ! (Losing horns) (awws)

Oh no! The game's over, Steve. I'm so sorry... which one was right? The $17K?

At the risk of interfering, but only trying to be helpful, may I point out (before the game proceeds) that the Take Two board reads, in relevant part, "DISHWASHER" even though it is a range that is the corresponding offered prize?
Title: Re: CJ's Price is Right - Episode 2 - PG#3. Or PG#2, Really.

At the risk of interfering, but only trying to be helpful, may I point out (before the game proceeds) that the Take Two board reads, in relevant part, "DISHWASHER" even though it is a range that is the corresponding offered prize?

By George, you're right. And there's further explanation to be done here as well, but I'll get to that in a moment. Despite the improper labeling, JR has elected to go with the Elliptical and the armoire. We know the elliptical is $999, now how much is that armoire? $1,139... For a total of...

BUZZ!

Now, allow me to explain. When I was writing this game, I had a couple of prizes in mind, and at one point, I believe I had a dishwasher instead of a range. That would explain why my mind created the "Dishwasher" sign for the board. As if that wasn't confusing enough for JR, the price of the range turned out to be only $18 less than the price of the camcorder, which my mind for some reason was under the impression was $2,700 when I included it in the game. A word of advice to future hosts, it's never a good idea to drink whilst writing a Host Your Own.

With all that out of the way, the only sensible thing I can do JR is GIVE you all 4 prizes. (Cheers and applause) It just wasn't fair, by any means, and that's not something I want to see on one of my shows. You have my apologies. I'll see you at the wheel! (Main Theme 2007)

So, I hit my first snag. I promise not to do it again! More pricing games after this.

I'm kinda surprised we didn't get a shot of the covered-up Take Two board, CJ. And let me just say (again) that your props are AWESOME. I might need to recruit your skills whenever I get to doing a Host-Your-Own show!
===================================================
...As for the game, I'd say the Hand Soap would be a good first choice.

(Cheers and applause) We're back! And doing fairly well, if I must say. 2 out of 3 games won, even if one was a technical win. And here are our three players! They've won over $17,000 in prizes combined so far, and each of you could win $26,000 on this big wheel.

Contestant that scores nearest to $1.00 without going over goes to the showcase at the end of the show. And you never know what surprises may appear there. Also don't forget that $1.00 on the nose gets you a bonus $1,000 and a shot at up to $25,000. Here is your spinning order:

DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING-DING! (Walking 2007) (Applause)

Here's your cash, CU! Congratulations on that. Take a look what you can win next, it's behind these doors!

RICH: A new gas grill and fun electric scooter!

First, this Lynx 42 in. free standing grill has two red brass burners, one ProSear burner, and a 1200 sq. in. cooking surface. Ceramic Briquettes facilitate even radiant heat, and heavy-duty welded construction eliminates gaps where grease and moisture can collect. From Lynx!

Next, it's the Zapino electric scooter! With an advanced 3000-watt brushless DC hub motor, it's perfect for city commuting. Able to reach speeds of about 30mph, you'll be able to keep up with traffic without contributing to pollution. And there they are, CJ!

Alright, CU. We have a price of $5,349 on the grill. We have a price of $3,495 on the scooter. Are those prices right, or should they be switched? If you're right, I'll give you both.

Welcome back! We're here at the showcases with JHarv and CU. CU, you're the top winner, and Harv is the runner-up.

Both of you pay close attention, because here's your first showcase!

RICH: This showcase is full of prizes designed for two! They're all things you can use with a friend! First, there's no better way to get into shape than by working out with a friend. And we recommend using this new home gym! (Applause)

Designed for two bathers, the Concord Bathtub's built-in FM radio player soothes the ears; seven different chromotherapy lighting options accommodate any mood. By the way, out of curiousity, what were the two games switched around due to the error?  Certainly it did not affect any game, they were all fun.
Title: Re: CJ's Price is Right - Episode 2 - THE BIG FINALE!
Post by: CJBojangles on June 02, 2009, 07:58:55 PM
Well, I was gonna see if anyone could figure that out, but I guess I'll just tell you. :P

Ten Chances was actually slotted 5th, but I incorrectly had the game graphics labeled as pricing game #4. So, without looking at my master game script, I went ahead based on the graphic names. I didn't discover the misstep until the game had already begun, so I had no choice but to play Switch? 5th, making for a less-exciting 2nd half than I'd hoped.

You live, you learn.
