Due to a recent situation, this must be said. If you are a contestant, and you miss your deadline in an episode, and you have a good excuse, by all means, explain what happened. No one's going to be angry, and the host might even decide to allow you back in.
On the other hand, if you don't have a good reason for missing your deadline, you don't have to say anything. No reply is necessary. If you decide to explain why you missed, though, then take responsibility for missing your deadline. It isn't the host's responsibility to nag you when it's your turn to bid. Some hosts may send a PM for each turn. Some hosts may never send a PM. Respect each host's choice. As long as you were given at least 24 hours to bid, or higher if the host allowed for more time, then it was fair. Please don't whine, or otherwise try to paint yourself as a victim.
