I sure wish I watched this show, but I ended up oversleeping again.  I'm just waiting for the recap to see how today's show fared.

BTW Joe, I would give you a penalty of ONE LETTER GRADE for being late with the recap...just teasin' you!! :-D  :-D

It was a pretty good show Bulldog. There were some fun contestants and then a contestant who seemed to me like they could have cared less to be there, and I think everyone will know the one i'm talking about on that front.

Not many games won today, but still a fun show.

IUFB#1 Interesting that John had no nametag on. Wonder what Bob would have called him had he won.

Ford “Ranger Game”—If she had only gotten up to her lucky number and stopped at $15,700 she would have won.

Punchy—Never listen to the “dudes” in the audience

Ten Chances—At first I thought, “Wow! She really knows how to play this game!” Then I thought, “Maybe not.” Still she was the only one to pull off a win on a PG today.

SCSD—Unlike the previous two days, nothing exciting here. An abrupt cut to the commercial though.

Freeze—His choice looked good to the casual viewer—I wouldn’t have stopped on $6374 myself.

IUFB#5 Hilarious! I am always shouting bids to the TV for items I have seen many times before. Glad it paid off for her.

Pass the Buck—Tough break! She was fun, though.

I noticed that when Kalanchi won her showcase, there was a discrepancy in the total winnings. The screen flashed $42,695 while the podium read $42,402.

Bidding Round #1- #4, Jennifer (http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/4331/4jennifer92006ao1.jpg)! :-D

Punch a Bunch- Even though Jennifer didn't win a lot, hearing Bob say "dude" made that playing great. :-)

Showcase Showdown #1- Looks like the Big Wheel is back to its hottie-hating ways. Sigh.

Bidding Round #5- #5, Melissa (http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/4164/5melissa92006zb3.jpg)! :-D

One Right Price- How the heck was that lost? That was way too easy.

Showcase- That looked like a surefire double overbid. What a surprise.

BEST CONTESTANT OF THE DAY- Kalanchi.

SHOW SUMMARY AND GRADE- Only one win today? Another one of those shows where it was kind of hard to tell... Grade: 3

Awesome show today...I didn't even realize only one game had been won until Robair pointed it out after 1 Right Price.

It's too bad Kalanchi didn't stick with her guns in Range Game.  If she had, she probably would have won.

Jeannine played Ten Chances beautifully.  Her only fault was that she didn't quite get how expensive the car was...she clearly didn't want to make the guess she ended up making for the sixth chance.

The ticket plug being edited out was disappointing, especially since they probably did the normal one today.

Freeze Frame and 1 Right Price were both very hard today.  All three of the prizes in the two games were way more expensive than they looked.

Marylinn struck me as being not quite all there.  She looked halfway out of it, and she was very visibly nervous during the first part of Pass the Buck.

The Dr. Phillis showcase was excellent, although not as funny as the square dance showcase from yesterday.

I'm still shocked about both of the showcases. I figured both were wayyyyyyyyy over.No way did I think that either one was as expensive as they turned out to be. Kalanchi's bid was excellent. So was Garrison's (or whatever his name was), course I think from his reactions throughout he could have cared less whether he won or lost.

Too bad, Kalanchi went with the audience rather than with her own instinct during Range Game. As mentioned she made up for it by winning her Showcase.

I loved what Bob said to Christopher during Freeze Frame: "A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do." Hillarious.

Oh yeah, we got another good shot of Roger today too during 10C.

This was a great show, Bob was in top form, great contestants. This has been a great week so far.

Range Game-I figured the truck was around $15,700.

Punch-a-Bunch-Maybe Jennifer should have looked to different "dudes" for advice...

Ten Chances-She started out great.  I was screaming at the TV when she wrote $13,920; at least she won the car at chance #8.

Freeze Frame-I also thought the cruise was $4,095.  I was wrong.

Pass the Buck-This is the first time a Dodge Caliber was offered on TPIR.  It was interesting to see her try to move the price displays over the dollar bill..

One Right Price-That sofa did not look like it was $3,389.

Showcases-I knew the first showcase would be around $40,000 because I know trips to Tahiti can be very expensive and a Mustang convertible is in the upper-$20,000 range.  I was surprised that the second showcase was over $30,000.  That hot tub and the bedroom must have been really expensive.

Overall, an average show today.

Maybe I ought to consider opening up a snowmobile dealership near Studio 33...

Kalanchi must have really faked out the Range Game operator - there was a distinctly visible pause in the Range Finder at about $15,652 when it first looked like Kalanchi was going to stop (she stopped about a second later).

One-Bid #1:  Fireball Hottie #1--Kalanchi!  (http://www.golden-road.net/grnoldx/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif)

PG #1:  Range Game first for a truck!  WOW!  The Dobber's full of surprises this week... and it's only Wednesday!  Ouch... the hottie missed it by $17.  :-(

One-Bid #3:  It took only three days to get our first contestant who gets on stage prematurely.

PG #3:  Despite that stupid $19,302, Jeannine knew how to play this game.  Savor this moment, ya'll--it might be several months before we get a 10C player as good as her.

SCSD #1:  That fade to black at the end was extremely awkward.

PG #4:  Range and Freeze on the same show?  Has that ever happened before?  "No, Christopher... cruises are not that cheap."

PG #5:  Those Pillsbury crescent rolls are on their way to becoming the Dolphins & Friends on Season 35.

PG #6:  Tough today.  Neither of those prices looked $3,899, but I would've picked the sofa just cuz it was from Highbrow Furniture.

My showcase bids:
Convertible--$36,850
Starcrossed--$27,677

Result:  YAY!  The first hottie of the season to win it all!   :-D   :-D   :-D

Sorry, folks.  Other than the fact that it was a three-car day and the great Ten Chances playing, this wasn't too good of a show.  The first half was good, but the second half lineup was lackluster at best.

The highlight was definately the Ten Chances playing.  It's really rare when we get a contestant as good as that playing the game!  I think she got a little confused when she did not end that one chance with a zero because she was apparently convinced the car cost $19K.

Wow, what an average lineup it was!

IUFB#1 - Does anyone want motorcycles? And do they know how to use them?

Range Game - ouch! Stopped way too soon!

IUFB#2 -And does anyone dare for electric guitars as well?

Punch-A-Bunch - Woohoo! But probably the red shirt Iowa (or Idaho) college "dudes" may be responsible for bailout decisions, but the punches are at best the contestant's ideas.

IUFB#3 - At least the laptop is worth something.

Ten Chances - I am glad to see someone who knows the "zero" rule... almost. Aside from the faults, she wins all three!

SCSD#1 - If only you stay at 45 cent, Jennifer, that'd be interesting. doesn't matter now, I found typical but exciting odds seen.

IUFB#4 - the pool table is worth keeping as well.

Freeze Frame - Okay, let's skip this part now. However, $4k is not right for the trip, and my instincts are correct.

[skip my rants if necessary]

IUFB#5 - Marylinn, Marilyn, MARILYNNN (if I want to call you that)!!! Do you EVER watch this show very often!? You wore some homemade t-shirt, and then get into the stage without winning IUFB TWICE!! Worse, you nearly bid $200. ARGHHHH!!! Worse, you were glad you got a perfect bid get be onstage thanks to these red t-shirt people nearest you, thus winning $500.

Pass the Buck - Worse, Marylinn, you got a chance to win a vehicle in this luck-filled game. Worse, you thought Pillsbury dough is $3.39!? (We've seen cat chow yesterday, but probably it doesn't affect what I've seen there) Worse, you won something more than nothing, but at least you don't win something more valuable YOU DON'T DESERVE!! I can't find anything worse now. I'm smelling a worst clone of Boo-Boo here.

IUFB #6 - Garrison, if you only bid 1000 times more than your bid, you'd win $500. Oh well, I hope I have a chance to root for you.

One Right Price - [buzzer] God, I don't feel empathy for you now and forever. And either you thought $3k goes to the ski equipment, or you just wanted to lose. Ah well, I thought it was an easy set-up though.

SCSD #2 -Woohoo! Double spinoff. Thank god that Boo-Boo wannabe goes bye-bye here! But someone I don't care for nearly tried spinning backwards and goes into the showcase. Aww...

[rant ends here]

Showcases - Dr. Phillis? Does America "love" its male counterpart? At least this showcase was interesting. And the bids? Garrison, you were glad you're not over, but not for the prizes. And I was glad you lose.

I would hope for rarely played games tomorrow, but that won't happen that it should.

Range Game...If only she stuck to her lucky number....

Ten Chances: I was worried Jeannie wouldn't nail the price of the Fusion after a great start.

One Bid 5...It was interesting to see Marylinn change her bid to $1680 and hit the $500 bonus.

Showcases:  I was surprised that the snowmobile showcase was that expensive and Garrison was under.  I would have bid $17,000.  On the Mustang, I would have went with $40,000 and hit a DSW!

Overall: Despite a one win show, it was fun to watch.

The lineup could've been better if Ten Chances took Pass the Buck's place, and some random grocery game took Ten Chances' place.  Ah well.  Nice start, bland finish.

I wonder if Jeannine knew the zero rule in Ten Chances, or if she just had the good sense of realizing that zero usually is the last number for prices in general.  Either way, good for her for winning!  Even if she didn't really have any idea of the general price of the car, she at least knew what the price should look like, more or less.  She just made an honest mistake with the one non-zero chance, kinda' realizing on her third $19,000 guess, that she was out of ways to end it with zero.  I forgive her.  She played well and won, yay!

Marylinn was enjoyable, if not all there.  I do wonder why Marylinn didn't take her front row friends' advice for the second pair of products in Pass the Buck, though, since they were clearly pointing to the cat food side.  After they give her the $1680 bid, and Marylinn still didn't trust them about cat food and crescent roll prices.  Ah well.

...actually, I wonder if the "two dudes" telling Jennifer to give up the $500 were the same "two dudes" helping out Jennifer.  I liked her whole conversation with Bob about the dudes she didn't know helping her out, and her "bad" punch to hole #10, forcing her to repunch the hole!  She was a lot of fun, really, seeming to have a lot of fun with Bob up on stage!

I was disappointed with how Kalanchi played Range Game, though not really surprised.  Kalanchi said she wanted to stop at $15,700, since 7 was her lucky number.  But of course, the audience convinced her to stop it early, and that killed her:  she'd have won if she had stopped where she actually said she was going to!  Turns out 7 was her lucky number:  just too bad for her she didn't trust her own lucky number.

Freeze Frame wasn't really set up for a win at all, was it?

I noticed that too, Noah, it stopped for a split second and continued on up the scale, that was cool though faking the operator out like that.

I object on the grounds that you first have to know what a Ford Fusion is.  Considering it only started in 2006, that should not be counted against anyone.

Why does everyone expect Ten Chances players to be perfect?

Range Game: Kinda surprised the truck was so cheap. I probably would have won this today. Tough loss.

Punch-a-Bunch: The bad luck here starts again.

Ten Chances: Played pretty well, but I can see why the car tripped Jeanine up a bit.

Freeze Frame: The Random Alaska Trip Curse strikes again.

Pass The Buck: The Caliber makes its first appearance.

One Right Price: Should not have been lost. The equipment couldn't have been that expensive.

Showcases: I'm not surprised the first showcase was so expensive, since a trip to Tahiti was offered. But I was shocked the second one was super-expensive. I thought it was at the most $21,000.

Overall: Decent show today.

I'd have to disagree.  I wouldn't have guessed any of the $13,000 prices, but I definitely would have tried the the $19,000 prices.  I had no idea it was over $20,000 either.  I don't think she was just making a random guess either with the non-zero guess, but rather, she realized too late she was out of $19,000 guesses that ended with 0 but had already started the price out.

There's only one reason I knew the price of that Fusion, and that's because it was the car Joy won in that fateful "I cannot believe that happened!" edition of Ten Chances last season.  I too would have started with the 19's had I not seen the price last season.

Range Game: Too bad Kalanchi didn't follow Katelyn's Triple Play Memorial Rule: Forget the audeince and go with your gut. But what a beautiful fakeout of the game operator!

Punch-A-Bunch: Wonder how many people would've given the $500 back anyway, regardless of two dudes helping them or not...

IUFB#3: Here comes MaryLinn...

Ironically, I'd just downloaded the audio of Boo Boo Cooper's infamous Grocery Game playing off tpir.tv last night. And now we get Boo Boo Cooper version 2.0 today.

Ten Chances: Jeannine was a very good player. I'll chalk up chance #6 to nerves. Nice to see Roger get more camera time.

Freeze Frame: $4095 seemed good to me.

Pass The Buck: MaryLinn/Boo Boo 2.0 could've done better by ignoring Katelyn's Rule in regards to the "Evil" Cat Chow, which clearly was $6.99. Still, she got herself a cool $1k on the board.

1 Right Price: This was tough for me as neither one looked to be $3389, but the couch looked like the less expensive of the two. But since Garrison didn't seem to care too much, I won't worry about it.

Showcase Showdowns: Double spinoffs, nice.

Showcases: I was convinced that this was a D.O.B. since I bid $30,000 for Kalanchi's and I severely lowballed on Garrison's, going for $17,000. I was suprised that it wasn't.

Not here in Miami, apparently. Dr. Phil just moved last week from WFOR-4 to WPLG-10, which cancelled it's moderately rated 5 and 5:30pm newscasts to make room for the show. It's been almost last in the ratings among the big network stations since then, piled on by the competing newscasts like a rabid football team.

Average show today, with more little quirks like yesterday.

Boy, Ferdy. I couldn't say I'm glad you are with me for BooBoo/Marilyn part (though I am, seriously). But I would say that we're glad to discuss. I don't know which one is the real another "Boo Boo": the '80s Shell Game contestant who lifted up a shell before Bob did the results, either Joy or Rita in 10 Chances. But the problem is that Boo-Boo was the contestant in the show's first week of its run in history while the rest were contestants as years went by.

Showcase #2

Range game- Ouch that was a bad break there. I thought that kalanchi had that won.

Punchboard-Ugh another bad break there.

Marylin is officaly the first person this season to forget to go to contestant row.

Ten chances- Jeannine start of very well but started to falter  towards the end but it was nice that she won the car.

Freeze fame-When Christopher freeza the price at $4085 dollars there was no doubt in my mind he had loss.

Pass The Buck-Well,$1,000 dollars is too bad I don't think Marylin understood the game

Are those the same sailors from recent?

Range Game: For a Ranger? Hee-Hee!
No laughing matters here, because her whisper number was actually close to the right price and most of us wanted to stop the Rangefinder a little early.

Punch-A-Bunch: I don't care wether Jennifer won the ten grand or not, this was an interesting playing of the game today.

Ten Chances: I thought this game was a breeze, until I had the recall of those numbers for the car. "Is that the same car and the same price that everbody screamed at Joy to get?" It got a little nerve-wracking that Jeannine had to break the 0 rule a little.

Freeze Frame: Back in 1986, yes; but in 2006, no.

One Bid 5: When I left work to watch Price, I had the vision of Michael in my mind. So far I had two instances of people actually knowing the price just a little too soon. Are we LFaTs or what?

Pass the Buck: What made Marylinn want to pass the buck to the Crescent Rolls? If the Cat Chow was that same price in Grand Game yesterday, that would have been a little difficult to win.

If those two guys from Iowa State helped Marylinn in the last One Bid, maybe John should've got some help from them. If he didn't, that's his own fault.

1 Right Price: I never would have thought skiis would cost over $3000. I think I saw a sofa like that costing that much. Another instance where the audience was right instead of the contestant.

I never thought of it until I read the end of the recap: We almost had a stinker on the first week of the season.

I can picture it better than I can that dinky little sofa!

Bah.  The minute I heard "Herman Miller" I knew the sofa was overpriced.  These are the same guys that make those $800 Aeron office chairs, so the $3000+ sofa was not out of the question.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I found it strange to see Range Game and Freeze Frame in the same show.

Correct, Dave.

Somewhat interesting episode.  As someone else mentioned, I didn't even notice until the recap that it was a 1 for 6.

Range game:  I don't care if all the cool kids are looking at the audience, pick a price and stick with it.

IUFB #3:  A Dell notebook?  You better hope it doesn't explode in contestant's row...

10 Chances:  Is it just me, or does every time this game shows up nowdays seem like a disaster waiting to happen after last season's debacle?

Freeze Frame:  I would have gotten this wrong too.  On a mainstream cruise line (Carnival, Princess, Royal Caribbean, etc.) $4095 would be a perfectly reasonable price for a cruise for two, even a bit high.

Pass the Buck:  Is it just me, or do people seem to mess up the pricing portion of this a whole lot more than they should?

Showcases:  I thought for sure this was going to be a double overbid, that $38,250 bid seemed ridiculously high (that must be one heck of an expensive Tahiti trip.)  And remind me never to buy a snowmobile from wherever Price gets theirs...

Also, the people in the "Bob... That's Hot" shirts seem oddly familiar for some reason.  I'm pretty sure I saw those shirts at the taping I attended in January...

Pricing Game Length:
The time of the game begins at the moment a prize is revealed for the game, or the game itself is shown.

Range Game -- 2:11
Punch a Bunch -- 3:14
10 Chances -- 4:08
Freeze Frame -- 1:48
Pass the Buck -- 3:41
1 Right Price -- 1:01

Could someone clear this up for me: What is that Green Light on the Range Game board supposed to do??  Is it to signify that the Rangefinder is in motion??  It used to turn off once the contestant hits the button, but now it's anyone's guess whether or not it turns off.

Actually, I immediately thought that seeing Freeze Frame.  Just kinda' forgot as the day went on and I made my post, I guess.

Then again, considering Range Game and Side by Side back to back last season when Range Game was supposed to be for a car, maybe Roger just treats the game differently when it's played for a car?

Poor Kalanchi fell victim to listening to the instincts of "so-called know-it-alls".

Punch-a-Bunch lady could've played this any better with or without the "Dudes" :D

Ten Chances started smooth and got crazy but still she got the car and she deserved it if you ask me.

I thought that Cruise was $8000, Shows you what I know.

 :-(

Is Mariyn the "BooBoo Cooper" of 2006? She has the voice but still I found her fun and trying to get up CR after her named was cool was very funny. She earned a nice $1,000 and its better than nothing.

That 1 Right Price guy looked like he wasn't happy with the prizes offered. When he lost, I laughed my rear off.

Rachel as "Dr. Phillips" was very unique. If only they actually did spoof "Dr. Phil", We would've seen Rachel with a bald wig and a fake mustache. That would've made good TV.

I only thought the runner-up overdbidded. Kalanchi showed bravery bidding high and winning that nice convertible.

Yeah, that's what I thought too, Edmo. He didn't look happy at the big wheel, he didn't look happy during the showcases, and when Bob read the ARP of his showcase, he kinda shrugged like he could have cared less.

Watching Jeannine play Ten Chances, it looked like it simply didn't occur to her that the car could start with 2 instead of 1, resulting in that bad guess. An understandable enough mistake -- glad she won the car.

Personally, I thought the 1 Right Price didn't go on either of the prizes!

Overall, this show was pretty good.

For the most part, Ten Chances was played well. Her only real bad one was the sixth guess.

I thought 1 Right Price was pretty much a tossup.

The word "dudes" was said 10 times this episode:  8 by Bob and only twice by the contestant in Punch-a-Bunch.

That rotating wine cabinet reminded me of that "Magic Fridge" commercial for beer... :-)

The contestant who played Range Game was really believing the fact that the "Rangefinder can't be restarted for another 37 hours!"  :-D

People have mentioned the potential conflict between Range Game and Freeze Frame.

I actually thought it was weird seeing Punch-a-Bunch and Pass the Buck together - 2 games where you guess things randomly from off a board, both of which involve cash.
