Title: goldroadfanatic's TPIR episode #13: FINALE (Comments Welcome!)
Post by: goldroadfanatic on October 03, 2008, 11:03:30 PM
I got the green light from Frank, and for the first time since May, I am doing a show.  In our last show, ChinookUT became the second person to win both showcases in this series and took home over $65,000 in prizes, including two cars!  pathfinder20 unfortunately suffered a painful loss in Dice Game, and other stuff was given away.  Now here's your chance to win some random...stuff!

Here are the rules:

*Contestants will have 24 hours to place a bid, play a game, etc.  Miss the deadline once, you will receive a warning; if you do it twice, you are out of the game.
*I will send a Private Message to contestants who are called on down, but after that it is the contestant's responsibility to know when it's his or her turn to play.
*If you are going to be absent from the game when it's your turn for one reason or another, please send a private message to me.
*Audience participation is encouraged.
*If someone is eliminated from the show for whatever reason, I will notify that contestant's replacement via a PM and bring them up to speed.
*The show will begin on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 8:15 PM EDT.

As always was the case for the last 12 shows, good luck and have fun!

Who knows Unique, that $1 bid may come in handy.  We will find out as a tell you all that the actual retail price is $1,030 and blow me down, Unique's strategy worked!

DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING

How are you Unique?  We got off to a great start with rob winning Shopping Spree and I want you to continue the streak by winning this!

(harps)(Giant Price Tag rises)

Unique, it's a chance to win $25,000 in cash!

(cheers and applause)(Janice holds bill)

That's right, we are playing Punch-a-Bunch!  This is not for $10,000 anymore, we decided to give contestants a pay raise and are now offering the chance to win $25,000!

Now, we have two $25,000 prizes, three $10,000 prizes, and smaller prizes all the way down to $100.  I am going to give you a chance to win four prizes and four punches.  What's the first one, Rich?

This is actually a little tough, because those could be expensive pillows, but I don't think they'd be THAT expensive so that they'd be about $40 each.

Lower.

To answer your question, Unique, the $25,000 slips were behind holes 3 and 9.  You were just one away from a $25,000 slip on your first punch and you were also one away from punching out a $10,000 slip on your second chance punch.

Anyways, our next contestant is....

tdawgg used strategy, let's see how it plays out.  The actual retail price is $720, and the $1 bid worked again!

DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING

Now tdawgg, I hope I can give you this!

(door #3 opens)

It's a new car!

(Big Banana)

The 2009 Honda Civic Coupe DX!  Crafted in East Liberty, Ohio, it comes with standard features plus: automatic transmission, and all-season floor mats.  From American Honda Motor Company, the Honda Civic!

(http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/8711/oneawayseason37zo1.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)

A Honda Civic, tdawgg!  Starting with this episode, the foreign car ban has been lifted and we will have a larger variety of automobiles to offer our contestants now and in the future.

Now you're going to play One Away.  The price of the car is not $25,683, but each number is one away from the correct number.  The first one could be a 3 or a 1, the second could be a 6 or a 4, and so on.  Now, I want to speed things up, so please give me your guess for the price of the car.

Thank you, Rich!

You know, in the two times we played One Away, both of them ended up being played perfectly.  Roger, make the game impossible next time!

(laughter)

Anyway, tdawgg, since you won the most this half, you will spin last.  Unique, since you won the least, you will be setting the pace here.  The one of you who is closest to one dollar without going over will be in the showcases.  If you can spin one dollar in one or a combination of two spins, you will win $1,000 and a bonus spin.  But starting with this episode, the bonus spins are going to be different.  We decided our contestants deserve a pay raise, so the green sections are no longer worth $5,000, but $10,000.  That dollar, is no longer worth $10,000, but $25,000!

(applause)

That means each of you can win up to $26,000 on here.  Step over there, Unique and let's see if you can do it!

(Please submit two numbers between 1-20 and the lowest amount you are willing to stand on if you get it in spin #1.)
