Title: New Pricing Game Idea - Extremes
Post by: 123123123 on November 02, 2013, 07:24:51 PM
I don't know if I ever made a thread about this game, but I saw the 3 other pricing game ideas that came recently, so here goes nothing.

The game is a relatively simple, but difficult, cash game that is played for $10,000

The contestant will walk up to the turntable and be shown 7 grocery products, each accompanied by a small box.

5 of the boxes are empty, but the other two have $5,000 each. The $5,000 boxes are with the least expensive and most expensive products on the table.

The contestant gets two picks and is then shown the prices of their picks, to add to the suspense a bit.  They can end up winning nothing, $5,000 or $10,000.

I was debating the idea but after they see the prices, no changes can be made.

If that wasn't clear, here is an example

Hello Bobby, you are going to play Extremes for $10,000!!!

Now all I want you to do is pick the least expensive and most expensive prizes on this counter.

Francesco Rinaldi Pasta Sauce:
Aspercreme Pain Reliever:
Gold Bond Healing Lotion:
Cheez Whiz Cheese Product:
Challenge Butter:
Allegra Allergy Relief:
Duracell D-Batteries:

{chooses pasta sauce and allergy relief}

OK, so let's reveal those prices.

Francesco Rinaldi Pasta Sauce: $1.99
Aspercreme Pain Reliever:
Gold Bond Healing Lotion:
Cheez Whiz Cheese Product:
Challenge Butter:
Allegra Allergy Relief: $6.47
Duracell D-Batteries:

Let's start with the sauce. On the count of three lift the top off.

1...

2...

3!!!!!!!

{money flies out, applause}

OK, now lets see if you won another $5,000

1....

2......

3!!!!!!

{empty box}

Francesco Rinaldi Pasta Sauce: $1.99
Aspercreme Pain Reliever: $6.99
Gold Bond Healing Lotion: $8.99
Cheez Whiz Cheese Product: $3.39
Challenge Butter: $3.99
Allegra Allergy Relief: $6.47
Duracell D-Batteries: $12.99

That's OK. I hope you enjoy your 5 grand.

What do you guys think?

It's too easy. It's In The Bag always has the least expensive and most expensive prizes as the first two in order, and those are only worth $2,000. Not sure really how this could be tweaked.

Sounds like with some tweaking it could be good
I would change the boxes to something else & maybe keep all the prices within a set limit...like all of them between $3 & $5
