This season, the NFL will celebrate its milestone 100th season in business! Beginning September 5, the season will kick off with the oldest rivalry in the league, when the Bears host the Packers. Then 13 Sunday games, followed by two Monday night games (Texans at Saints in the first game, and Broncos at Raiders in what will probably be the final season opener at Oakland).
Happy 100th, NFL!
-
It is fitting that the Bears-Packers will open the 100th season of NFL football. I'm glad the NFL made an exception to the Super Bowl Champion opens the season thing to give the NFL's 100th season the opener it deserves. FWIW my vote for greatest player in NFL history goes to Jerry Rice. Joining Rice on my NFL Mount Rushmore are Tom Brady, Lawrence Taylor, and Walter Payton.
Have a great 100rh season, NFL:)
-
I'm hoping for a great season, but it won't be with Andrew Luck.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27456682/luck-informs-colts-retiring-source-says
Possibly the most stunning football news of the year. Early reports suggest Luck's been mentally ground down.
-
Wow. Luck's retirement tonight is probably the most stunning retirement since Barry Sanders retirement just before the 1999 season. Luck was a great talent but just didn't have the durability not unlike Rob Gronkowski. Despite the brevity of his career, Luck was reasonably accomplished. 4 time Pro Bowler. 4 seasons over 4000 yards, and 3 seasons over 30 touchdowns.
-
Yeah, it's a shame when someone's body won't hold up to support the talent. I'm a Redskins fan and went through that with RGIII. Still, at least Luck had some good years before it took too much of a toll on him.
-
The Falcons drafted some OLs to help protect Matt Ryan. I know it's only preseason, but so far they have shown nothing. Ryan has landed on the turf more than dog poop.
-
Disband the team. The Falcons win their first preseason game in three years.
-
The Bears have to figure out a way to fix their kicking game next week when they face the Packers on Thursday night for the kickoff.
-
A low scoring affair tonight but in the end with all the penalties the Packers hold on in the end to take this one over the Bears 10-3.
-
Great for the Cheeseheads but... that-was-ugly :P
/Go Seahawks! :)

TV ratings were way up from last year's opener.

In news that doesn't surprise anyone, The Oakland Raiders have cut Antonio Brown following an Instagram post asking for release and voiding nearly $30 million dollars in guarantees.
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/raiders-cut-antonio-brown-after-instagram-post-asking-for-release-and-voiding-nearly-30m-in-guarantees/

And, just like that, Antonio Brown is a New England Patriot.

At virtually the eleventh hour, the Falcons sign WR Julio Jones to an extension through 2023. Will he prove he's worth the money this year? We'll get a sampling today against Minnesota where the Falcons are a 3-point underdog.
-
My Cardinals begin their season with a 24-24 tie after Kyler Murray led a furious 4th quarter comeback and the Lions shot themselves in the foot with an ill advised timeout. Too bad the Cardinals couldn't score a touchdown instead of a field goal on that 1st possession in overtime but Murray's 4th quarter Performance was encouraging.

27-27 and no one should really care about the timeout. Lions need to do a better job of executing. Oh, and not blowing 18-point fourth-quarter leads.
On the flip side, very nice debut for Kyler Murray. Now the Cardinals need to play a full 60-minute game.
-
Matt Ryan gets sacked on the first friggin' play of the game from scrimmage. Then he gets picked. The run defense couldn't stop a crippled turtle much less the Vikings' run game. Well-earned loss for Atlanta.
-
Alright, I don't follow football that closely, but let me say this: the tie between our Detroit Lions and the Arizona Cardinals last night was downright disappointing. Matthew Stafford threw for 385 yards, and the Lions made three touchdowns, with no interceptions, giving us an 18 point lead in the fourth quarter...and in spite of all this, we tie. The Lions were all set to win this thing, and while we didn't lose, it still felt like we lost. I will give them credit, however, for keeping the Cardinals at bay early. I just believe that they let their guard down too early, leaving the job unfinished.
On the bright side, they've got a better rotation than they did last year, and from what I've heard, they've been tightening up their overall game, so we'll just have to sit tight and see how the season unfolds.
-
Redskins status: Choke confirmed.
Really, the Redskins came and played their hearts out in the first half, then laid down and got dominated by Philly. This loss is mostly on the coaching I feel, we've seen this song and dance too many times. This sort of heartbreaking loss in Week 1 is brutal and may well make Gruden's seat hotter.
As a side note, I don't think deactivating Adrian Peterson for this game mattered much in light of how it unfolded. Nonetheless I think it was the wrong choice and more importantly beggars the question of why we still have him. He was recently named team MVP and he's not dressing for the game? This isn't a question of Xs and Os, this is a question of what are you doing to team morale.
-
Not sure how the Seahawks won yesterday but I'll take it :)

Well, I'm not sure if he had any hand in the decision, but if he did, it would go without saying that after 20 years, Daniel Snyder has absolutely no clue what he's doing (although not that the rest of the division minds, of course).
-
As a lifelong Cowboys fan, I could care less about the Redskins and the crappy way they're run. At least Jerry Jones knows how to win at all costs, proving that you can't just talk the talk, but you have to walk the walk too.
Kudos to Dallas on their opening win over the Giants on Sunday, and good luck against Washington in Week 2.
-
But I hope they realize that if they do give Prescott the deal he appears to want, they'll have to let everyone else on the team not currently under contract go over the next two years, as that plus Elliott's new deal would take up too much of the payroll. So it may be fair to say this year could be their last chance to win it all in the near term.
-
In terms of contenders, I think the AFC is basically Patriots and Chiefs again. The NFC is more wide open. I would probably make the Cowboys the favorites in the NFC but the Rams, Seahawks, Eagles, Packers, Bears, and Vikings all have a shot. But there's no chance of any team other than the Patriots or Chiefs winning the AFC.
-
Patriots and Chiefs are 6:1 favorites to take the Super Bowl. Worst odds are Miami at 500:1.
-
Wow, the Bears pull this one out of nowhere as they take it 16-14 on a last second field goal.
-
I love Redzone :) Only got to see that great Bears-Broncos finish because of Redzone. My Cardinals remain winless after being shredded by Lamar Jackson :( Adarin Peterson surpassed Jim Brown for 5th place in career rushing touchdowns in the Redskins loss to the Cowboys with his 107th. And Father Time has finally caught up to Adam Vinatieri.
-
Atlanta gets the breaks to fall their way against the Eagles. They convert on 4th for a go-ahead touchdown, then on the ensuing drive they stop the Eagles on 4th and 3 to ice it.
Saints-Rams rematch was devoid of controversy this time but notedly devoid of suspense as well. La-la Land prevailed.
-
I'm a big fan of the New England Patriots, started the season with 2 huge wins(33-3 over the Steelers last week and 43-0 yesterday over the Dolphins).
-
The Dallas Cowboys have released defense end Taco Charlton.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27645896/free-taco-cowboys-cut-former-first-rounder
-
The Giants have benched Eli Manning and will start Daniel Jones in his place against the Buccaneers this Sunday.
-
After Antonio Brown was released again for the second time, this time by the Patriots, he says he won't be playing in the NFL anymore.
-
Atlanta-Indianapolis: Matt Ryan couldn't throw the football in the ocean in the first half then threw for three TDs in the second. Falcons defense was unable to stop the Colts when it counted. Falcons lose, 27-24.
-
My cardinals lose to the Panthers as Kyler Murray is sacked 8 times and the Cardinals defense plays like girls, allowing 38 points to Kyle freaking Allen. Cardinals are 0-2-1. :(
-
Cardinals defense plays like girls
You're saying girls can't play football? Watch the gender stereotypes please.
-
And are you saying women could play professional football, especially defense, against men?
-
Well, this got out of hand quickly. Anyway, the Panthers always had the potential for an explosive offense. Sunday proved an injured Cam Newton was clearly holding the Panthers back. Having a healthy quarterback allowed Carolina to unlock some of their potential and allowed guys like D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel to finally begin the breakouts everyone was expecting out of them.
-
And are you saying women could play professional football, especially defense, against men?
Some could, absolutely.
And that will be the last remark on the subject that is to be made in this thread.
-
Atlanta loses safety Keanu Neal for the season after an Achilles injury Sunday. Adding insult to injury is that after he removed his helmet upon his injury, the refs threw a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty flag on him.
-
The Super Bowl halftime show this year will be Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.
-
The Packers suffer their first loss of the season against the Eagles, 34-27.
-
Atlanta loses again, 24-10 to Tennessee. Same issues: stupid penalties, porous defense, poor red zone efficiency.
-
There is one reason why you need to play to the whistle and the Chiefs go to 4-0 with a close 34-30 win over the Lions thanks to a 99-yard fumble return for a touchdown. This was the same crew that blew the call in the Saints-Rams game a few weeks back, but this time they got it right despite the crowd in Ford Field not agreeing with the call.
-
Guess who's in first place in the AFC North? Yep the Cleveland Browns, who've haven't held first place since 2014.
Daniel Jones continues to impress despite some hiccups.
And Miami hasn't won a game since the miracle win against New England.
-
Meanwhile, the Patriots stay undefeated by winning a 16-10 slugfest over the previously unbeaten Bills.
The Chiefs stay undefeated thanks to a key 100 yard fumble return touchdown and a key 4th and 8 conversion on a run by Mahomes.
The Dolphins might well pull a 2008 Lions.
-
My Cardinals remain winless with a 27-10 loss to the Seahawks as our defensive woes continue. :(
One silver lining: Larry Fitzgerald, the greatest Cardinals player ever, surpassed Tony Gonzalez for 2nd place on the all time receptions list now with 1326 to Gonzalez's 1325. :) Only Jerry Rice with 1549 receptions caught the ball more times in his career than Larry Fitzgerald.
-
New Orleans Saints pulls off an upset against the Dallas Cowboys winning 12-10.
-
Answer: Cotton, a bunny, and the Falcons' zone defense.
Question: Name three things that are soft.
-
YES! My Cardinals finally get a win with a 26-23 win over the still winless Bengals. Kyler Murray gave the Cardinals their first points of the day with a rushing touchdowns and made a key run on the winning drive to set up Zane Gonzalez's game winning 31 yard field goal. It feels good to finally get a win. Now I know we won't go winless. Too bad Mr. Bidwill wasn't able to live long enough to see Kyler Murray's 1st win.
No revenge for Khlail Mack as the Raiders beat the Bears 24-21 in the London game.
Justin Tucker makes a clutch kick to tie the game with 10 seconds left and another in overtime time as the Ravens beat their archrivals the Steelers 26-23 in overtime.
And in the weirdest turn of events, the Panthers and Saints are a combined 6-0 without Cam and Drew.
-
I'm seeing lots of Cowboy fans on Twitter wanting their head coach Jason Garrett fired.
-
Washington, off to an 0-5 start, shows Jay Gruden the door.
-
I'm surprised it took this long, I thought Gruden was toast after Week 4.
-
In Atlanta, many fans seem to think that Falcons' head coach Dan Quinn could be next if they lose to Arizona next week. Quinn is also the defensive coordinator and he's not getting it done on that count, surrendering 53 points to Houston yesterday. Arthur Blank, the team owner, says he's disappointed but he is still hitching his wagon to Quinn's star. But who knows what's being said behind closed doors right now.
-
The 49ers are 4-0 for the 1st time since 1990 with their 31-3 win over the overrated and overhyped Browns tonight thanks in large part to a dominant defense led by Nick Bosa.
-
Locally they're saying that Dan Quinn may be out by the Falcons' bye week if they don't turn things around. Judging from their performance so far against Arizona, the toaster is about to get plugged in.
-
My Cardinals get their 2nd win and 1st home win with a 34-33 win over the Falcons. Kyler Murray throws for 340 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win. :) Way to go KM!
As for the Falcons, the 1st thing that they need to do is cut Matt Bryant.
Meanwhile, the 49ers remain undefeated with a 20-7 win over the Rams.
-
Bryant missed his first PAT in the last 25 tries. I don't think that would warrant the Falcons cutting him, even if this did cost them at least a tie.
It doesn't get any easier for Atlanta with the Rams and Seattle beckoning before the bye.
-
The New York Jets win their first game of the season winning 24-22 to Dallas. And with the analogy made by Ccook about the Atlanta Falcons loss earlier today, how long before the toaster will be plugged in for Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett?
-
I think Jones probably keeps him till the end of the season at the moment since he likely still believes the team can win it all at the moment, whether delusionally or not (and looking increasingly so). Keep this up, however, especially if they look bad next week against Philadelphia (who, if they can at least go .500 the next few weeks, have what right now looks like a ridiculously easy last month to really get into a groove), and perhaps he will yank the plug in favor of the next yes-man up before New Year's. We shall see one way or another.
-

I think they should be more worried about the fact their defense continues to be in shambles, especially with Dan Quinn overseeing the unit.
-
Two questions stick out heading into Week 7:
Dolphins (0-5) and Bengals (0-6) are winless, which team will win first?
Patriots (6-0) and 49ers (5-0) are undefeated, which team will lose first?
-
1. Dolphins. 2. 49ers. (Now that I've said that, watch my predictions go to smithereens like they usually do.)
-
Two questions stick out heading into Week 7:
Dolphins (0-5) and Bengals (0-6) are winless, which team will win first?
Patriots (6-0) and 49ers (5-0) are undefeated, which team will lose first?
Bengals could beat the Jaguars this week. Patriots may be going 16-0.
-
The Dolphins have 1 of the worst rosters in recent memory and as a Cardinals fan, I can attest to what a terrible quarterback Rosen is. The Dolphins could easily pull a 2008 Lions.
The Patriots will stay undefeated longer than the 49ers. The Patriots are a better team than the 49ers and the AFC is MUCH MUCH weaker than the NFC. Hard to imagine a team going 16-0 though because it's so hard to do. If you're bad enough you can go winless. Going undefeated is tough.
-
Meanwhile, normalcy has been restored to the AFC West as the Chiefs flat out destroy the Broncos 30-6. This was also Andy Reid's 200th career win.
-
And in that game last night between Denver and Kansas City, what happened? Oh yeah, reigning MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a knee injury and could be out for a few weeks to the rest of this season. Gee, I wonder how this could have been prevented? Maybe if the NFL didn't make Mahomes play on 3 days rest!
Seriously, can Thursday Night Football just DIE already? It's not needed, nobody except diehard football fans would miss it, it doesn't make Thanksgiving games as special as they once were because now they're playing every Thursday of the season (granted it's still somewhat special because it's played on a holiday), and on top of that it's just bad for player safety in this age where the long-term effects of concussions on players health are more known than ever.
Oh but who am I kidding, it's not going away because the NFL just wants to boost their profits any way they can even if it means risking their players health. This is a great example of why greed is in my opinion the deadliest sin of the seven. Paul Tagliabue during his tenure as NFL commissioner may have turned a blind eye to the concussion problem, but at least he knew how much NFL football was enough to schedule per week and that was all games on Sunday except one primetime game on Monday.
And one more nitpick. If the game's gonna be on the local FOX affiliate why does it have to be on NFL Network as well? Why not show some original programming relating to those teams playing like Top Tens, America's Game, A Football Life, just anything but the game FOX is airing.
-
The only thing missing from the Falcons game against the Rams is a laugh track.
-
30th ranked Cardinals defense sacks Giants QB Daniel Jones 8 times, yet Gettleman won't do anything to fix the o-line. Pathetic.
-
Yes! My Cardinals are now on a 3 game winning streak with a 27-21 win over the Giants thanks in large part to 3 rushing touchdowns from Chase Edmonds. With the win, the Cardinals are 3-3-1. The waters are about to get murkier with visits to the red hot Saints and undefeated 49ers in the next 2 games. But for now it's really enjoyable to be on a 3 game winning streak after how poorly the season started.
Congratulations to future Hall of Famers Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford on reaching the 350 touchdown and 40000 yard milestones respectively.
The suprising Colts are now 4-2 and the Buffalo Bills at 5-1 are looking like they'll have a great shot at a wild card.
It's tough to say at this nanosecond whether the pack or vikes should be favored in the NFC North.
-
After a field goal from Brett Maher, the Cowboys lead the Eagles 27-7. Does anyone else have a feeling that Dallas will manage to screw this one up in the second half or is this just me that has this feeling?
-
Does anyone else have a feeling that Dallas will manage to screw this one up in the second half or is this just me that has this feeling?
Just you.
-
Falcons make two moves while we slept. WR Mohamed Sanu is traded to the Patriots for a second round draft pick; LB Vic Beasley is put on the trade block.
-
Atlanta cuts kicker Matt Bryant, who has missed three FGs and a PAT in the past three games. The new kicker is Younghoe Koo (first name pronounced "yung-hway") who hails from Georgia Southern.
-
My Cardinals lose to the 49ers. Kyler Murray threw 2 touchdowns as the Cardinals made a bit of a rally in the 4th 1/4. But Ultimately, Garoppolo's 4 touchdown passes, each 1 of them to a different receiver, allowed the 49ers a 28-25 win. The Cardinals are 3-5-1 after 9 games. Meanwhile, the 49ers are 8-0 and the battle for NFC Supremacy this season appears to be between the 49ers and the Packers.
-

Drew Brees says hi.
-
Looks like a 49ers-Patriots Super Bowl...but don't hold your breath just yet.
-
A 30-yard field goal made by Jacksonville's Josh Lambo towards the end of the second quarter barely makes a shutout victory for the Houston Texans to happen as the Texans beat the Jaguars 26-3 at Wembley Stadium in London.
-
Halftime score: Bye Week 24, Atlanta 3.
-
There goes the undefeated season for the Patriots as the Ravens take this one 37-20. That leaves the 49ers as the only unbeaten team of the season so far.
-
So that means, that, if the 49ers lose a game, the 1972 Dolphins will be able to pop that champagne.
The Chiefs hold down the fort without Mahomes with a 26-23 win over the Vikings largely on the strength of Harrison Butker's 4 field goals, including the game winner at the buzzer.
Russell Wilson throws 5 touchdown passes, including the game winner in overtime, as the Seahawks outshoot the Buccaneers 40-34.
The Texans, led by my current MVP Deshaun Watson, give the Jaguars a 26-3 butt kicking as Minshew Magic appears to have run out. Minshew threw 2 interceptions and lost 2 fumbles for 4 total turnovers.
-
A black cat ran onto the field during the Giants/Cowboys game. An omen of sorts?
-
A black cat ran onto the field during the Giants/Cowboys game. An omen of sorts?
For the Giants yep as the o-line and the refs continue to give them a hard time.
-
The cat scored more touchdowns than the Giants did. ;)
-
The cat scored more touchdowns than the Giants did. ;)
Unfortunately, it was four to eight days too late.
-
After the cat appeared, Joe Tessatore said"If the Cowboys season doesn't go as expected, blame that guy." And then the Cowboys went on a 34-9 run the rest of the game. LOL!
You do have to wonder how a cat could get into the stadium in the 1st place.
-
You do have to wonder how a cat could get into the stadium in the 1st place.
The black cat is one of the "resident stray cats" at MetLife Stadium, and the stadium plans to capture the cat and take it to a vet for an examination is what Sports Illustrated studio host and New York Giants reporter Madelyn Burke said on Twitter.
-
Drew Brees has been sacked six times against Atlanta, who had six sacks going into the bye week. Atlanta leads, 23-9 but there's still time.
-
My Cardinals fall to 3-6-1 with a 30-27 loss to the Buccaneers. It looked like the Cardinals might have a shot when Kyler Murray threw a 4th 1/4 touchdown pass to Christan Kirk. But a bad interception by Mutray gave the Buccaneers another shot and they took advantage of it. The Cardinals then couldn't get anything going on the final drive and that was that.
Some poor special teams play really hurt the Chiefs in their 35-32 loss to the Titans. All credit to Ryan Tannehill and the Titans offense for pulling that game out, but with the Chiefs leading 32-27, an inattentive holder not ready for the snap ended up having getting an intentional grounding penalty on 4th down and later the Chiefs game tying field goal attempt on the last play was blocked.
Oh, and Lamar Jackson may have taken the lead in the MVP race. Lamar Jackson was totally awesome baby. Jackson accounted for 4 touchdowns today ( 3 passing and 1 rushing) and looked mighty impressive doing so.
-
Atlanta wins, 26-9, snapping their losing streak and the Saints' winning streak. The Saints fail to score a touchdown in a home game with Brees at QB for the first time.
And correction: Atlanta had seven sacks before the bye week.
-
At the last possible moment, there are no undefeated teams left thanks to a last-second field goal win by the Seahawks, taking it 27-24 over the 49ers in overtime. A lot were thinking this would be the first MNF tie since 1983 but Seattle had other plans...
-
And so the 1972 Dolphins can pop that champagne. That was easily the best MNF game in 2019. The Seahawks have closed to within a 1/2 game of the 49ers in the NFC West race and Russell Wilson is now 2nd in the MVP race behind only Lamar Jackson.
-
Cleveland DE Myles Garrett was one of three players ejected last night in the Browns' 21-7 win over Pittsburgh after he ripped off the helmet of Pittsburgh QB Mason Rudolph and hit him in the head with it. Browns TE Larry Ogunjobi and Pittburgh C Maurkice Pouncey were also ejected.
-
Well, see ya next year, Garrett. The NFL's already getting pressured to suspend him for the rest of the season.
-
Garett should be suspended for the rest of the year. This is worst on field incident in the NFL since Albert Haynsworth in 2006. If Garrett really does get suspended the rest of the year, the 6 game suspension would be the second longest suspension in NFL history for on field behavior (I believe the longest ever was Paul Hornung being suspended the entire 1963 season for gambling.) The longest is Burfict's current 12 game suspension for accumulated illegal hits.
-
And it could even be some of it next year depending on how serious they will suspend Garrett for this brawl incident.
-
Disgusting spectacle. That gives the entire sport a bad name. Take your win with dignity.
-
Garrett has been suspended for the rest of the season.
-
They are now saying Garrett's suspension is indefinite. And he will be fined.
-
If I understand correctly, he would have to be "reinstated" to play in 2020 and would have to have a meeting with the commissioner's office before that could be considered.
-
The Falcons have their first takeaway in their favor since the Philadelphia game. They've picked off Carolina QB Kyle Allen three times in a game Atlanta leads, 20-0.
-
The best player in football wears 8 and the best team wears purple. Didn't expect a 41-7 blowout but man that was impressive.
Jameis Winston is a bust. I don't care how many yards you throw for if you have this many turnovers.
The Vikings overcome a 20 point halftime deficit with a 20 point 4th 1/4 as Kirk Cousins and Kyle Rudolph hook up on the game winning touchdown and the Vikings defense has a goal line stand on the final few plays.
The Falcons last 2 wins are flat out weird. Where did these back to back strong Falcons performance come from? SMH.
-
One aspect is that head coach Dan Quinn fired DC Dan Quinn and made LB coach Jeff Ulbrich the DC. The defense is suddenly in beast mode.
-
My Cardinals lose to the 49ers 36-26 after a back and forth 2nd 1/2. Kyler Murray gave the Cardinals a 26-23 lead with a rushing touchdown with 6:31 left but Jimmy Garoppolo responded by throwing a game winning touchdown pass with 31 seconds left. The final score was the result of the 49ers returning a fumble for a touchdown on the Cardinals last desperate play. Cardinals are 3-7-1 while the 49ers are 9-1.
-
Garrett is going to appeal the helmet swinging suspension decision this Wednesday.
https://www.sportsnet.ca/football/nfl/browns-myles-garrett-appeal-helmet-swinging-suspension-wednesday/
-
Sure, he's saying he's sorry now, but that's medicine after the funeral. He needs to own up.
-
Garrett is going to appeal the helmet swinging suspension decision this Wednesday.
https://www.sportsnet.ca/football/nfl/browns-myles-garrett-appeal-helmet-swinging-suspension-wednesday/
:oldevil:
-
Well, Garrett's suspension is upheld as it should be the case. Meanwhile, Mason Rudolph has been fined $50,000 for his role in the brawl at the end of the game.
-
The nightmare that was Atlanta's first half of the season came back to haunt them as they lose 35-22 to Tampa Bay and take up housekeeping in the NFC South cellar. Matt Ryan was sacked six times while Jameis Winston, although throwing two INTs, never got sacked.
-
The 49ers DEMOLISH the packers 37-8 in a game in which Nick Bosa's early fumble recovery seemed to set the tone for the whole night.
Perhaps the 49ers biggest threat in NFC comes from the 1 team to have beaten them, the Seahawks, who improved to 9-2 with a 17-10 road win over the Eagles.
The Patriots win a defensive struggle over the Cowboys 13-9. The Cowboys made a mistake by kicking a field goal rather than going for a touchdown about halfway the 4th 1/4 when it was 13-6. They made the field goal, but then 13-9 was the final, a completely plausible scenario at the time. Aikman even said on the game telecast that the Cowboys needed to go for it.
Oh, and way to lay an egg against an inferior opponent, Raiders.
-
Any MVP voter who doesn't vote for Lamar Jackson this year should never be an MVP voter again.
-
The Julio Jones-less Falcons could not take advantage of late onside kicks in their 26-18 loss to New Orleans who clinch the NFC South. Matt Ryan throws for 312 yards but throws two picks and is sacked nine friggin' times, 29 times for the year to date.
-
Well the Ravens go to 10-2 after a last-second field goal to win it 20-17 meaning that the 49ers are now 10-2.
-
The Seahawks defeated the Vikings 37-30 in the best Monday Night Football game of the season. The Seahawks clearly had the superior special teams while Kyle Rudolph made some really impressive catches for the Vikings. But the difference was the fact that the Seahawks have a quarterback who is capable of winning big games and the Vikings don't. The Seahawks are 10-2 with the win and own the tiebreaker over the 49ers due to head to head. So despite being 10-2 the 49ers find themselves a 5 seed! Meanwhile, the Vikings lead over the Rams for a wild card has shrunk to 1 game.
-
Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera leaves the stage with some parting gifts. Thanks for playing, Ron.
-
This was probably the pivotal week for the season, as the 49ers and Patriots both lost, and the Ravens and Seahawks both won, resulting in the top teams for each conference being switched. It's going to be a very exciting finish, if the next four weeks are any indication.
-
I feel if the Vikings either don't make the playoffs at all or make it and are one-and-done (especially if they get blown out), Zimmer and Spielman are gone.
(Disclaimer: I don't really care what happens; this is just what I THINK will happen - the Wilfs have been adamant about getting the franchise Super Bowls.)
-
The NFC East is now a grease fire as with Dallas' 31-24 loss to Chicago last night there is no team in that division at .500 or better.
-
Falcons beat Carolina 40-20 in a game meaning nothing apart from pride and beefing up divisional records. Matt Ryan throws for 313 yards and 2 TDs. Roddy White is inducted into the Falcons' Ring of Honor.
-
A high scoring game by the 49ers and Saints but in the end with the winning field goal the 49ers take it, 48-46 to improve to 11-2.
-
Now the 49ers are rooting for a Rams loss tonight as the 49ers will clinch a playoff berth with a Rams loss.
Meanwhile the Ravens have clinched a playoff berth with their 24-17 win over the Bills.
WTF happened to the Texans today?! SMH!
-
And the Kansas City Chiefs have clinched the AFC west by virtue of their own win over the Patriots 23-16 and the Raiders losing to the Titans 42-21.
My Cardinals shoot themselves in the foot with turnovers in a 23-17 loss to the Steelers. There were chances for the Cardinals to score more than 17 points today but untimely interceptions killed us and even our last last ditch effort was ended by an interception. :(
-
Also, Kansas City ends New England's home winning streak at 21 games.
-
Green Bay might have a great record but they have also had an easy schedule this year.
-
Bad news for the 49ers as the Rams beat the Seahawks 28-12, preventing the 49ers from clinching a playoff berth. The Rams themselves are in the thick of the wild card race but remain a game behind the Vikings, who beat the Lions 20-7 earlier today.
-
Atlanta is an 11-point underdog against the 49ers this upcoming Sunday. WR Calvin Ridley is done for the season with an abdominal injury.

The Dallas Cowboys have released Brett Maher and have signed Kai Forbat.

Tonight, Lamar Jackson broke Michael Vick's single season rushing yards record for a quarterback. Vick ran for 1039 yards in 2006, Jackson has 1103 rushing yards as of the end of tonight's game. Unlike Vick, Jackson can actually pass. Lamar Jackson threw 5 touchdown passes tonight and currently has 33 on the season, tied with Vinny Testaverde (1996) for the most touchdown passes in a Ravens season. He needs 1 more touchdown pass to take that record for himself. Congratulations to almost certain 2019 MVP and future Hall of Famer Lamar Jackson on your record setting season.

Vick was actually a really good thrower as well, so let's stop that right now. And let's also pump the brakes a tad on calling Lamar Jackson a future Hall of Famer this early. Yes, he's certainly the huge favorite for MVP right now, as some will likely see the last few weeks for the Seahawks as taking a hit to Russell Wilson's chances (not that Wilson wouldn't deserve MVP either).
-
Yeah, one season does not make a HoFer. See also: RG3's rookie season. If nothing else, all the talent in the world can be destroyed by injuries and a bad choice to play him when he's injured.
-
Vick completed only 56% of his passes and never had a 25 touchdown season. He only had 2 20 touchdown seasons and his career high was only 21.
My Cardinals get their 4th win of the season by beating the Browns 38-24 as Kenyan Drake runs for 4 touchdowns. It was nice to win the last home game of the season. :)
Meanwhile, the Rams loss to the Cowboys has clinched playoff berths for the Packers, Seahawks, and 49ers.
-
Cant just look at numbers. Vick was just fine as a passer. Box score scouting is fun. You also have to take into consideration the passing attacks in the 2000s were nothing like they are today.
-
Who says upsets do happen? Well the Falcons did just that but not after tension booth reviews that could have made the difference. Anyway they took this one over the 49ers 29-22, but will that be enough for Dan Quinn to save his job?
-
The winning TD pass to Julio Jones was the nailbiter, but the ensuing kickoff and subsequent lateral fumble recovery for an irrelevant touchdown with :00 left (2 TDs in the space of 2 seconds of elapsed time) was just zany beyond belief.
-

At this point, I'd think Vick just misses Canton, but personal issues aside, his overall career on the field was certainly nothing to look down on. And his role in lifting Atlanta up after they'd been basically irrelevant for two decades prior to his arrival can't be understated in the city either.
As noted above, pure numbers aren't always the key to greatness. I for example feel Randall Cunningham should be inducted eventually given there's no question at least from my own point of view that he revolutionized the quarterback position in adding the running facet to it that really hadn't been there before leaguewide, and at his best was supremely talented as well. Had Buddy Ryan been able to give him a better offensive line and better wide receivers, I think it's likely he would have hoisted a Lombardi Trophy at one point during his time in Philadelphia, especially with the defense he had on the other side--plus, he did have better numbers in key categories than both Phil Simms and Troy Aikman, both of whom he did beat regularly as well.

I always thought Steve Young, another dual threat who played at the same time as Randall Cunningham, was better than Cunningham, though I do think Cunningham has a legitimate Hall of Fame argument. As for the Cunningham era Eagles never winning a Super Bowl, 4 things worked against them: not signing James Lofton in 1989 when he was a free agent, the tragic death of Jerome Brown, in 1992, losing Reggie White to free agency in 1993, and Cunningham himself missing most of the 1991 season due to injury. 1991 was Cunningham's best shot at a ring. If Cunningham himself doesn't get hurt in 1991, he may well have gotten his ring that year.
Speaking of numbers, tonight Drew Brees surpassed Peyton Manning to become the NFL'S all time in touchdown passes with 541 at the end of the night. Brees currently holds the career triple crown of passing being the all time in passes completed, passing yards, and passing touchdowns. However, with Tom Brady sitting at 538 touchdowns, it's a bit murky which one will end up the all time leader in touchdowns passes.
-
I myself can't help wondering as well if 1991 would have been their year had he been able to play the whole season (so a word to the wise, never mention the name Bryce Paup in the Delaware Valley out loud). You could also add to the argument management letting Cris Carter go after 1989; while he had some personality issues at the time, he likely would have flourished and settled down had he been given time. He plus Mike Quick, had he been able to play a full career, would have been a pretty lethal combination for Cunningham in his prime to throw to--and perhaps, to go back even further, had Marion Campbell been smart enough to draft Jerry Rice in 1985 when he had the chance, even more so.
-
The Miami Dolphins are the only team with nobody in next month's touch footb--I mean, Pro Bowl.
-
The Miami Dolphins are the only team with nobody in next month's touch footb--I mean, Pro Bowl.
Neither do the Giants.
-
That's surprising, because I always thought the Pro Bowl worked the same way as the MLB All-Star Game, in which each team must have at least one representative on its respective conference's roster. And I don't know what the worst part about it is: that the game now takes place one week before the Super Bowl instead of after, or that the Super Bowl teams are exempt from it (BTW, when was that rule introduced?).
-
The Pro Bowl started being played the week before the Super Bowl in 2010.
-
Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff's jobs with the Falcons are safe. For at least another year. The team's 5-2 record since the bye week was a factor. This week's tilt against Tampa Bay is a Pick 'Em.
-
The early games provided shockers for some and others not, but the biggest upset in the early game comes when the Miami Dolphins stunned New England Patriots 27-24 and by doing so, Kansas City Chiefs clinches #2 in the AFC seed (and a first round bye) with a 31-21 win over Los Angeles Chargers.
In the other early games, Green Bay Packers get a first round bye with a 23-20 comeback win over the Detroit Lions, the New York Jets won 13-6 over the Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears defeated the Minnesota Vikings 21-19 (although too little too late playoff wise), Cincinnati Bengals take the Battle of Ohio 33-23 over the Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints easily handled the Carolina Panthers 42-10, and the Atlanta Falcons take an overtime win (on an interception TD return) over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 28-22.
Late games are going on now and the final game comes at night to close out the regular season.
-
Jameis Winston's pick-six was the seventh he's thrown this season, the most since 1950.
-
The Buccaneers need to move on from Jameis Winston. It doesn't matter how many yards or touchdowns you have if you continue to hurt your team with turnovers.
Meanwhile, the Titans and Eagles will take the final two playoff berths.
Sunday Night Football is HUGE for the 49ers. With a win the 49ers get the number 1 seed and the 1st round bye that comes with it. If they lose, they're a 5 seed and don't get the bye. The game is less important for the Seahawks since they can't get a 1st round bye either way.
-
Doesnt mean its not important to Seattle. Its the difference between playing at home in the playoffs versus having to travel to Philadelphia. Pretty sure thats plenty of incentive. Theyd love nothing more than to send the 49ers to Philadelphia.
-

Jameis Winston's pick-six was the seventh he's thrown this season, the most since 1950.
What if I told you Jameis Winston went 30/30 this season?
-
It was so fitting that a pick-six put him at 30 interceptions.
-
What if I told you Jameis Winston went 30/30 this season?
Wouldn't doubt it. The story of his season.

Giants head coach Pat Shurmur and Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens have felt the guillotine of Black Monday as has Redskins president of operations Bruce Allen. Ron Rivera, recently fired by Carolina, is expected to take the HC job at Washington.
-
Now it's official: Ron Rivera is the new Redskins head coach.
Anyone up for a playoff simulation on Madden 20? That game is an instant collector's item, as it celebrates the NFL's centennial season. (BTW, I just bought it to go with my new PS4, along with two other sports games whose names should not be disclosed here)

FTFY
Maybe we can finally beat them next season.
-
If the NFL isnt rigged, the refs are doing a terrible job proving that.
-
A key sack by J.J. Watt turns things around for the Texans in the wild card game. Once trailing 16-0 in the 2nd 1/2, the Texans come back to win 22-19 in overtime as Watt, Watson, and Hopkins made key plays during the comeback.
-
How Watson avoided getting sacked by two Buffalo defenders I'll never know. Meanwhile in Foxboro, it looks like pea soup for dinner.
-
The Titans have eliminated the Patriots in what could possibly be the end of the dynasty. Former Patriot Logan Ryan with the pick-six dagger.
PayingTheRent you must be going ballistic :D
-
This also means the AFC Divisional round matchups will be Titans at Ravens next Saturday and Texans at Chiefs next Sunday.
-
In today's tilts, New Orleans is giving 7-1/2 to Minnesota while Seattle-Philadelphia is Pick 'em.
-
Eagles now giving 1. Was listening to WEEI in Boston this morning, and suffice it to say they are not happy campers. They're saying everything from the Mohamed Sanu acquisition being a joke to the team buying into their own bumper sticker philosophies then tanking.
-
60 minutes weren't enough but the Vikings still upset the Saints. Seahawks/Eagles to follow.
-
And Kirk Cousins sends the Vikes to the next round.
-
Adam Thielen made the best catch of his career and red zone extraordinaire Kyle Rudolph caught the game winner. Really impressed with the Vikings receivers in that overtime. Vikings will play the 49ers on Saturday.
-
We're starting the new decade with Tannehill and Cousins winning a playoff game against hall-of-fame QB's. Never thought I say that in a sentence.
Let's see Wentz make it 4/4 for QB's winning their first playoff game.
-
Saints Nation is now wondering if they weren't victimized by another PI no call, this time on Kyle Rudolph pushing off on P.J. Williams when he made that catch. It appeared it was going to be reviewed but obviously it wasn't.
-
Even if it was reviewed, I'm not sure if there would have been enough evidence to overturn the call.
-
If that and what's going down in Philly is any indication, the NFL is about as serious about enforcing rules as its refs are.
Also, the Cowboys have fired Jason Garrett.
-
Technically the team is simply running out his contract haha. And Garrett allowed them to. How nice.
Also, technically the touchdown and supposed OPI was reviewed. Al Riveron said they looked at all angles of the play from the FOX replays and found that there was contact on both sides but not to the point of a foul.
-
If anything screwed the Saints, it was the overtime rules that didn't give Drew Brees a chance to touch the ball in overtime, you know the same rules that screwed the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game last year when Patrick Mahomes never touched the ball in overtime.
-
Or the absolute poor play of the Saints all game long. I think thats a bigger factor than the overtime rules, which I dont have a problem with at all. Saints has their opportunities throughout the game just like the Chiefs did last year.
-
The road team wins 3 out 4 this weekend as a Russell Wilson bomb allows the Seahawks to close out the Eagles. The Seahawks move on to play the Packers next Sunday. While it's fair to wonder if things would have gone differently for the Eagles if Wentz hadn't gone down but man that throw by Wilson was 1 of the best throws of the season.
-
Next week:
Saturday
Minnesota-San Francisco - NBC 4 PM ET
Tennessee-Baltimore - CBS 8 PM ET
Sunday
Houston-Kansas City - CBS 3 PM ET
Seattle-Green Bay - Fox 6:30 PM ET
-
Ok lets not act like that was a historic moment. Nice throw sure but the Eagles were getting eaten alive all game long by Metcalf and that was honestly a fitting end to their season, with the secondary getting torched. The Eagles also had their opportunities all throughout the game and didnt execute. Miles Sanders, as great as he was, dropped what was probably a sure touchdown on fourth down.
-
Don't let that distract you from the fact that 40-year old Josh McCown nearly led the Eagles to victory (or at least tie the game) in his playoff debut.
-
Though he will be the first to tell you he was on the 2008 Panthers haha.
-
SKOL BABY! I love the passion of this team, we have nothing to lose everyone has counted us out all season and no shot against the saints. Bring on the 49ers!!!
-
Also, the Cowboys have fired Jason Garrett.
Mike McCarthy is now the new Cowboys head coach.
-
McCarthy won Super Bowl 45 with the Packers and made 3 other appearances in the NFC Championship Game. That's certainly a lot more than Garrett can say. We'll see how it works out in Dallas with McCarthy coaching.
-
Carolina is putting the finishing touches on making Baylor's Matt Rhule their new head coach.
-
And Patriots assistant coach Joe Judge becomes the Giants head coach.
-
49ers advance to the NFC Championship round, beating Minnesota 27-10. Kirk Cousins get sacked six times.
-
Having Dee Ford back was huge for that 49ers defense and Nick Bosa was dominant as well. Jimmy Garoppolo went 5-6 on his 1st drive completing passes to 4 different receivers. He didn't do much the rest of the game but getting the 49ers into the end zone on that 1st drive made all the difference in the world. Richard Sherman's key interception in the 3rd 1/4 essentially set up Coleman's clinching touchdown.
It was also just revealed on CBS that Bill Cowher has been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a member of the centennial class of 2020. Congratulations to coach Cowher on his Hall of Fame induction.
-
That 10-point candy Tennessee was getting is looking pretty tasty right now.
-
What happened to the Ravens?
-
What happened to the Ravens?
Derrick Henry. That's what.
-
Derrick Henry and the Ravens offense underperforming. So far the playoffs have not been kind to Lamar Jackson.
-
21-0 Texans with the Chiefs getting a punt blocked and muffing another. And the first quarter isn't even over yet.
-
And now the Texans are choking. They're about to make this a one-score game.
-
This game is drunk.
-
The game turned around after the stupid fake punt that didn't work. The best tight end in the NFL has now caught 2 touchdown passes.
-
Make it 3 touchdown catches for the best tight end in the NFL. Patrick Mahomes has tied a postseason record for most touchdown passes in a postseason 1/4 with 4 tying Doug Williams from Super Bowl 22, also done in the 2nd 1/4. At halftime the Chiefs now lead 28-24.
-
The 52 points between the two teams is the most in the first half of a game in postseason history.
-
And that's all she wrote. Houston's going to need answers after blowing a 24-0 lead and losing 51-31.
-
What's really interesting about the AFC Championship Game is the contrast in styles. The Titans are a ball control running team with Derrick Henry whereas the Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes throwing the ball all over the field in an explosive passing game. We'll see next week what wins out.
-
I wonder if the questionable 4th down decisions that Bill O'Brien made may cost him his job?
-
The Packers hold off the Seahawks 28-23 as Jimmy Graham shows he's still relevant by catching Aaron Rodgers 8th conversion on 3rd down in pass attempts. I thought the Seahawks should have gone for it on 4th down instead of punting on their final possession owing to the possibility of never seeing the ball again after punting, which is exactly what happened. Packers at 49ers in the NFC Championship Game next Sunday.
At halftime, it was revealed that Jimmy Johnson joined Bill Cowher as the 2 coaches to enter the Hall of Fame this year. Congratulations to Jimmy Johnson on the Hall of Fame.
-
This is going to be a very exciting conference championship weekend, especially when there's the possibility of a Joe Montana Super Bowl (with the 49ers, a team he led to their first four titles, and the Chiefs, with whom he finished his career). What I wouldn't give to see that happen...and this comes from a rabid Dallas fan, of all people!
Congrats to coaches Jimmy Johnson and Bill Cowher on making it to the Hall of Fame; well-deserved moments after their respective successes on the sidelines (two Super Bowl championships for the former and one for the latter).
-
Kansas City and San Francisco are both 7-1/2 point favorites this Sunday. Baltimore and New Orleans know first hand it means nothing.

The Kansas City Chiefs are your 2019 AFC Chamioms with a 35-24 win over the Tennessee Titans as Patrick Mahomes throws for 3 touchdowns and runs for a 4th. A bit of redemption for Mahomes and the Chiefs after losing the AFC Championship Game last season.
Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on their 1st AFC Championship in 50 years and 3rd overall. Enjoy the Lamar Hunt Trophy, named after your own founder. Chiefs.
-
Sports talk kept saying that Tennessee was "playing with house money," and it looked promising for them at first till Mahomes put on the cape.
-
In other news, the Houston Texans have reportedly fired Senior Vice President Chris Olsen.
https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/texans/article/Sources-Texans-fire-senior-vice-president-Chris-14988458.php
And at the half, the 49ers lead the Packers 27-0 for the NFC Championship. If this keeps up for the 49ers, there could have a Super Bowl where both teams haven't won the big game as long as most of the current players have been alive.
-
Raheem Mostert has been a beast. Green Bay does not have an answer for him.
-
I can't help but wonder who Joe Montana will be rooting for in the Super Bowl, the Chiefs or the 49ers, since he played for both franchises.
-
It's official, it will be the Chiefs and the 49ers in the Super Bowl in two weeks time in Miami.
-
49ers ran over the most overrated team of the season. Hard when you have to play an actual team.
-
They just showed a stat that Mostert's 220 yards is the 2nd most rushing yards in any NFL playoff game. Eric Dickerson holds the record for the most rushing yards in a playoff game with 248 for the Rams in a 20-0 win over the Cowboys in the 1985 NFC Divisional Round Game on 1-4-1986. In addition to his rushing yards tonight, Mostert also set an NFC Championship Game record with 4 rushing touchdowns. Mostert's performance tonight was totally awesome baby! :)
-
Kansas City is a 1-point favorite in SB54. Over/under is 53-1/2. We'll see how the books fluctuate in thirteen days.
-
49ers ran over the most overrated team of the season. Hard when you have to play an actual team.
I've been telling people that the Packers record was inflated due to a very easy schedule.
Nice to see Kansas City get in their first Super Bowl in 50 years. Hopefully Andy Reid can end his legacy of failure.
-
Here's something mindblowing about Super Bowl LIV: The champions from the NFL's 50th anniversary season (Chiefs, they were still in the AFL then) and the 75th anniversary season (49ers) are meeting up in the Super Bowl played in the NFL's 100th anniversary season. Whoa.
-

On another note, I am referring to this game as the "Joe Montana Bowl".
-
Could have been the State Farm Bowl had Green Bay won Sunday.
-
^ And a rematch of the first-ever Super Bowl. I wish that had happened.
-
Giants QB Eli Manning is to officially announce he is retiring.
-
^ He's had a great run, beating Tom Brady (TWICE!), but alas, it was for the better he retired. I wish him all my best.
-
In other news, the Raiders have made their long-awaited move to Las Vegas official.
-
Eli's going to make an interesting Hall of Fame case, that's for sure.
The positives:
2 time Super Bowl Champion.
2 time Super Bowl MVP.
Longevity and durability Played in 236 games over 16 seasons.
7 seasons of over 4000 passing yards and 3 seats of at least 30 touchdowns.
Retires 7th all time completions, passing yards, and touchdown passes with 4895 completions for 57023 yards and 366 touchdowns.
The negatives:
117-117 record as a starter is pretty pedestrian.
Missed playoffs in 7 of last 8 seasons.
Led NFL in interceptions thrown 3 times.
Never made an All Decades Team and was never a First Team All Pro.
4 Pro Bowl appearances in 16 seasons means he was a Pro Bowler in only 25% of his seasons and the 4 total Pro Bowl selections are low for a Hall of Famer.
I've already heard multiple opinions both ways so this really will be a case that could go either way.
-
Eli is a hall-of-famer but is not first-ballot. He'll probably get in in about his fourth or fifth year on the ballot.
-
Eli has one huge thing going against him for getting into the Hall of Fame. When they look at his statistics, theyll say he wasnt as good as Peyton.
-

Which is a rather unfair metric. Very few quarterbacks are as good as Peyton Manning.
That being said, he's a third or fourth ballot Hall of Famer in my eyes. Something like that.

While not an official stat to use for or against induction, both officially and here, those of us in Philadelphia's sphere of influence can't help noting that over the last 24 meetings between the Eagles and Giants, Donovan McNabb (who I'd say comes up a bit short of induction, though he made a good effort) has as many wins against New York (4) as Eli has against Philadelphia during the same stretch.
-
I Googled the Manning brothers' head-to-head record, and I found out that Peyton beat Eli all three times they played against each other (twice with the Colts and once with the Broncos). So there's another factor working against the younger Manning's Canton aspirations.
-
The 2020 modern era Hall of Fame class has been announced,:
Troy Polamalu is the only 1st ballot guy. (Was there ever any doubt? Nope.)
The long overdue Steve Atwater and Edgerrin James made it.
Isaac Bruce made it. Bruce is a borderline guy in my opinion but I don't have any problem with the selection.
Steve Hutchinson rounds it out. Not a bad pick by any means but I'd have voted for Alan Faneca instead.
-
The line on SB LIV only moved a half point in the last two weeks. People are making wagers on anything from which non-QB will throw a touchdown pass (a la "Philly Special"--a $500 bet nets you $1500) to how long it will take Demi Lovato to sing the National Anthem.
-
At the half, it is all tied up between the 49ers and the Chiefs 10-10 thanks to a pass to the 49ers Kyle Juszczyk from Jimmy Garoppoloand the extra point from Robbie Gould.

1st of all, congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs on being Super Bowl 54 Champions.
The 49ers had the upper hand most of the night but Patrick Mahomes came to life just in the nick of time. Mahomes threw a key 44 yard pass to Tyreek Hill to set a Mahomes to Kelce touchdown and Damain Williams scored the winning touchdown with 2:44 left and a strong Chiefs pass rush finished the deal. Great players aren't always great, they're just great when they have to be.
Cobgatulatins to Andy Reid as well. Winning a Super Bowl should ensure his future place in Canton.
Oh, and seeing the NFL 100 All Time Team on the field before the game was totally awesome baby! :)

I'm so happy for Andy Reid. No one deserved a title more than him. So happy he finally brought one home. He absolutely clinched his spot in Canton.

I'm so happy for the Chiefs and their Super Bowl win!
Guess those who bought Madden 20 will be glad we did, because the cover athlete in that game won the Big Game. And he's the youngest MVP ever.

Yes, he'll go down in history as the man who brought an end to the 50-year championship drought.

All of us in the Philadelphia area pulled for him as well; though I of course wish things had gone differently way back in XXXIX, this was well worth the wait for he.

Andy Reid had great teams, but lacked a QB with leadership qualities. Patrick Mahomes was the answer and it finally paid off for Reid.

My heart said San Francisco but my wallet said Kansas City. Wallet 1, Heart 0.

- Holy guacamole, Batman. Is Aaron Boone clairvoyant or what?!

Cleveland's Myles Garrett has had his indefinite suspension lifted by the NFL. The Browns say they will welcome him back.
