Bill comes out to applause, and tells us the winner of the Hollywood Sweepstakes will be announced later. On to the bargain hunters:

* - The returning champ, back for his fourth appearance, is Charles Kraft, a photographer from Mt. Olive N C. He has so far won $4221 in his past three appearances. He brought his good luck charm, a chihuahua named Rebel who had just been given his shots.

* - Barbara Bivens is a housewife from Little Rock, AR.

* - Eujean LaPlante is from New Bedford MA and is a grandmother.

* - Julia Gillion is a supermarket demonstrator from Augusta GA.

A commercial for Wisk Detergent follows. First item up for bids: A Dixie schooner 12-ft. sailing hull. It has a 75 sq. ft. sail and is made of waterproof marine plywood in mahogany finish. Price authority: Confederate Headquarters, Charleston S C.

Next item: An Amana Stor-Mor upright freezer. It has 19.6 cu. ft. of storage and can hold up to 506 punds of food. It has frrezing coils on eacxh shelf for zero temperature storage. Price authority: Amana Refrigeration, Amana OH.

Following is a  commercial for Dove soap. Third item: A summer dress ensemble consiting of a cotton blouse with skirt, a velvet beret from G. Howard Hodge, beaded necklace from Narvella, handbag, and Trim Tread pumps.

Mrs. LaPlante opens and it's a one-bid item:

Third item: A Castro convertible sofa, which opens up to show a king-size bed that sleeps two. Bill models it by lying down on the bed.

The home viewer winner of the Hollywood sweepstakes is announced. The items and their prices:
(1) Pen/pencil set - $35.00

(4) Hat box - $11.20
(5) Perfume - $18.00
(6) 2-week stay at the Hollywood Hotel - $196.00
(7) Skoda car - $1635.50

Total price of the Calendar showcase: $1979.20. Two postcards submitted had identical bids of that price, so they were asked to submit a telegram bidding on one item in the showcase, namely the hat box. The closest bid, on the nose at $11.20, won the showcase for A.L. Jones of Casanovia N Y.

A promo for NBC's Saturday night shows (The Julius LaRosa Show, George Sanders Mystery Theater, Encore Theatre) follows. Just before the final item, Mr. Kraft's pet chihuahua, who was backstage, is brought to him on the panel. Final item: n dining room ensemble from Van Lee. Consisting of a 2-piece breakfront with drawers and storage cabinets. The oval table which extends to 8 feet and the six chairs are in cherrywood finish. Along with it is a serving cart imported from Italy.

Mr. Kraft opens, and everyone is asked to bid at least $100 over the previous top bid:

Correction--Mr. Kraft's total should be $5720. Also on the Castro convertible sofa, Mrs. Gillion's opening bid should be 75.
