The preseason kicks off tonight with the Hall of Fame Game: Packers Vs. Colts tonight at 8:00 p.m. Discussion open.
-
Falcons start exhibition play Thursday against the Redskins. Head coach Dan Quinn is liking what he's seeing from his players in practice while they're still ironing out a bug or two. They signed former Colts DE Dwight Freeney to give the pass rush a boost.
-
And now it's cancelled due to unsafe field conditions.
-
My preliminary guess for Super Bowl LI will be a rematch of Super Bowl XXXVIII, Panthers and Patriots. We'll see how everything unfolds over the next few months.
-
And now it's cancelled due to unsafe field conditions.
It was because the paint that was used for the logo & the end zone congealed making it unsafe. Fans were disappointed.
-
Falcons topped the Redskins, 23-17 Thursday night. Matt Ryan is shaking off his 0-4 start and giving mad ups to back-up Matt Schaub, who was finding his targets and getting the Falcons in striking distance. They expect Dwight Freeney to play this week against Cleveland.
And welcome back to the City of Angels, Rams. Nice come-from-behind win.
-
Denver DE Vance Walker is out for the season with a torn ACL.
-
Thursday's Washington-Tampa Bay preseason finale has been rescheduled for Wednesday so they can avoid the effects of Tropical Depression 9, which is to become a tropical storm today.
-
Colts will play their final preseason game against the Bengals without their starters.
-
Minnesota may be without starting QB Teddy Bridgewater for the season. He tore an ACL in a non-contact practice yesterday.
-
Minnesota may be without starting QB Teddy Bridgewater for the season. He tore an ACL in a non-contact practice yesterday.
He will be gone for the rest of the season. Local radio stated the Vikings have placed him on IR.
-
Colin Kaepernick of the 49ers is still refusing to stand up for the national anthem for games because of him protesting. And today there is a concern about his socks.
-
The 49ers have announced that Blaine Gabbert will be their starting quarterback next week.
-
Super Bowl Champs Denver Broncos overcome a 10 point deficit to beat the Carolina Panthers 21-20 due to a missed field goal with :09 left.
-
Week 1 of the season is underway and the Falcons are picking up where they left off last year. A 31-24 loss to Tampa Bay. Matt Ryan is usually very effective in 2:00 drills but today he wasn't. The defense had zero sacks on Jameis Winston, who had four TD passes.
-
Giants pull off a scrappy victory against the Cowboys, winning a nail-biter 20-19.
-
Did anybody get the license number of that truck? In their first game for Los Angeles in 22 years, Rams gets shutout, 28-0 against the 49ers.
Falcons are getting 5 against Oakland on Sunday.
-
Giants are now 2-0 after their win against the Saints.
Is it just me are we seeing a lot of "leaping" penalties during field goal attempts this season?
-
Atlanta notches a win in a hostile environment, a 35-28 decision over Oakland.
Announced: Lady Gaga is Super Bowl 51's halftime show.
-
Eight sacks, three picks. Who put the Kryptonite in Cam Newton's Gatorade? ;-)
-
:shoottv:
Giants beat themselves against the Redskins. Tough schedule coming up as they face the Vikings, Packers, and Ravens.....
-
Colts pulls off their first victory against San Diego 26-22 due to a touchdown pass from Andrew Luck to TY Hilton.
-
Falcons win their first Monday night road game in ten years, topping the Saints, 45-32.
-
Ten? Their last Monday Night road win was in 1979.
-
That was from a radio source, so they're wrong. Two Falcons received kudos: QB Matt Ryan was named NFC offensive player of the month, and LB Deion Jones was named NFC rookie defensive player of the month.
-
Falcons hand Denver their first loss of the season. Broncos QB Paxton Lynch was sacked six times.
And welcome back to the playground, Tom Brady. He leads the Pats to a 33-13 pasting of Cleveland.
-
So who believes the Browns will go 0-16?
Meanwhile Eli and OBJ beat the Ravens and Jeff Triplette 27-23 to snap their 3 game losing streak.
-
Carolina Panthers lose again and are 1-5. :-o I don't think anyone seen that coming.
-
Falcons lose at the last minute to Seattle 26-24. Many instances were cited for the loss but what they're talking about on local radio is the pass interference on Falcons' WR Julio Jones that did not get called.
-
After their disappointing game against Houston, Colts beat the Tennessee Titans 34-26
-
Seattle and Arizona played to a 6-6 tie last night. Shocked that both teams missed pretty easy field goals in OT that looked otherwise certain of a win by either of them.
-
Falcons fall to San Diego, 33-30 in overtime. Too many missed red zone opportunities, too many penalties.
-
Colts defeat the Packers 31-26 & will have a bye week next week.
-
Big no-no for Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs as he got ejected for two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties in a row by throwing his towel at the official. Chiefs still won 19-14 over the Jaguars despite this incident.

I prefer the Erving/Irving ejection pair.
-
Falcons, who defeated Tampa Bay Thursday night, are still looking through their rear view mirror in the NFC South as Carolina and New Orleans won today.
-
The Chargers' days in San Diego may be numbered. Ballot measures C and D, regarding a new stadium for them, were defeated in last night's election.
-
Heck yes! :-D
The Seahawks escaped Foxborough with a victory over the Patriots and did so with a magnificent goal line stand, with the cherry on top being a fourth and goal incomplete pass from the one yard line that was intended for Rob Gronkowski!
Next up is a bird battle at home with the Eagles. Go Hawks!
-
Following a 24-15 loss at Philly, the Falcons now have the bye week to get their walking wounded (Tevin Coleman, Jacob Tamme and Desmond Trufant) healed up. Falcons maintain a 1.5-game lead in the NFC South.
-
My Vikings have decided to throw in the towel.
-
Perhaps not yet. Any chance Peterson may return by year's end? Depending on who you listen to, he either may or may not, and if so, there's still reasonable hope (although I'll admit the NFC North currently looks like Detroit's to lose).
-
My Vikings have decided to throw in the towel.
That happens quite regularly with Minnesota teams these days, my friend.
-
Colts get their 11th straight win against the Tennessee Titans & a second consecutive win 24-17.
-
My Vikings have decided to throw in the towel.
Not quite! They had a sweet win over Arizona today!
From a Seahawks fan, thanks to your team for beating the Cardinals! I can't stand Bruce Arians and it's hilarious when his face turns the color of Red Square when he gets angry. The NFC North is still within grasp.
-

I hope Bruce is okay though! But yea the heart that we showed the win that game was great, HUGE game this Thursday against Detroit!!!
-
Painful loss for the Falcons yesterday against Kansas City. Up 28-27 after a TD, they go for two but Ryan gets intercepted by the Chiefs' Eric Berry who takes it the length of the field for a safety. Turned out to be the game winner for K.C.
-
After the Thanksgiving day loss to Pittsburgh, the Colts dominated the Jets 41-10.
-
On radio Boomer Esiason quipped that the security guards who tackled the yoyos who ran out onto the field hit harder than the Jets defense.
-
Giants sweep the Cowboys!
-
Falcons go wire to wire in their tilt against the Rams. 42-14 the final. OLB Vic Beasley had another fine game.
-
Rams fire head coach Jeff Fisher.
-
As he seemed to be treading water, the move is understandable, particularly since it makes sense for the Rams to try and forge a new identity for L.A.
-
How's this for incentive: local politicos are offering the Chargers a 99-year $1-a-year lease at Qualcomm Stadium to stay in San Diego.
-
Update: the NFL has given their OK for the Chargers to move to Los Angeles.
-
The Oakland Raiders are playoff bound for the first time since 2002.
-
Falcons continue to romp while San Francisco and Cleveland continue to circle the drain. Jacksonville fires Gus Bradley as head coach, having gone 14-48. Assistant head coach/offensive line coach Doug Morrone will most likely be named interim head coach.

Now we have thrown in the towel...
-
I'm calling it now....The Browns will beat the Chargers for their only win of the season.
-
I'm calling it now....The Browns will beat the Chargers for their only win of the season.
I really don't think they do. I hope they can, but I can't see it. A lot of people have joked about how Alabama would beat Cleveland. While that would not happen, the Browns overall are just on a level that's below the other 31 teams. To be clear, it looks like they are on the level between a college team and an NFL team (that has at least one win). They are so outmatched, it's really sad
-
I'm calling it now....The Browns will beat the Chargers for their only win of the season.
If they lose their last two games, they'll be the second team to go 0-16 along with the Detroit Lions (I forgot what year.)
-
If they lose their last two games, they'll be the second team to go 0-16 along with the Detroit Lions (I forgot what year.)
The Lions' 0-16 season was 2008.
-
The line on Saturday's game has San Diego giving 5. The way the Chargers have been playing, getting a lead then blowing it late, I'd take Cleveland and the candy.
-
If they lose their last two games, they'll be the second team to go 0-16 along with the Detroit Lions (I forgot what year.)
2008
-
Thanks. Of course if the Browns lose one more game, they'll be guaranteed the number one pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
-
Actually, looks like they would lose the tiebreaker with the 49ers. So say they both finish 1-15, I believe San Francisco would have the number one pick, Cleveland at two.
-
I'm calling it now....The Browns will beat the Chargers for their only win of the season.
And I was right! The 2008 Lions remain the only 0-16 team in NFL history.
-
Falcons sweep the Panthers; they need New Orleans to beat Tampa Bay to clinch the NFC South. Then several things need to happen to get them a playoff spot.
-
Falcons are in the playoffs as they are the 2 seed in the NFC. A win next week against the Saints earns them a first round bye.
-
Well, I was wrong about the Browns. I'm not a fan and would not have lost sleep if they went 0-16, but IMO going winless in the pros is unacceptable. I used to say unforgivable based off of what the Lions did in 2008, but that might be too harsh. Especially how they've turned it around over the years. Speaking of Detroit...
Falcons are in the playoffs as they are the 2 seed in the NFC. A win next week against the Saints earns them a first round bye.
I assumed that Detroit would have had the edge if they had won out, but upon checking, they would be tied with Atlanta in several categories before SOV. Atlanta has a rather huge lead right now, not sure if the Falcons clinched the SOV yet but if they haven't, a win by the Lions over Dallas would be rather significant
-
Dallas prevailed last night.
-
#Rexit!!!
-
Woo! Giants eliminated the Redskins today. They play the winner of the Green Bay/Detroit game tonight.
-
Browns almost pulled off an upset but the Steelers scored the game winning touchdown to win it in OT, 27-24.
-
Chargers fire Mike McCoy as head coach.
-

Last year was the Rams' final season in St. Louis. Will this be the final one for the Chargers in San Diego, and/or the Raiders in Oakland? We'll find out in the offseason, I'm sure.
-

They say by next Friday we will know about the chargers which I am sure will be moving
-
The Cowboys will have to play in the postseason without Randy Gregory who was suspended for a year for a substance abuse violation.
-
Houston will face New England after beating Oakland 27 - 14.
-
Houston will face New England after beating Oakland 27 - 14.
The Steelers have to win for that to happen. It's not set just yet.
-
Atlanta will host Seattle this Saturday afternoon.
-
Gonna be hard for them to win without both of their twelfth men siding with them I might add.
-
Early line has Atlanta a field goal favorite. The money will swing back and forth between now and game time.
-
:boo: Giants seem to have thrown in the towel.
-
What an epic performance by Rodgers today. More proof he is one of the most clutch QBs in NFL history and a lock for the Hall of Fame.
-
Wow, that hail mary pass for a touchdown to end the first half - unbelievable.
-
My picks for next round:
Packers over Cowboys
Seahawks over Falcons
Patriots over Texans
Steelers over Chiefs
-
Mine are Falcons, Patriots, Steelers and Packers.
-
Divisional Round Locks
Seahawks sneak away with a close victory over Atlanta (Falcons are 1-4 in the playoffs when Matt Ryan's been the starter)
Patriots wallop the Texans (I think they essentially got a second bye week)
The well rested Kansas City Chiefs topple the Steelers (Andy Reid coached teams are 4-0 after a bye in the playoffs, and I believe the trend will continue)
Luck runs out for Dallas as Aaron Rodgers and the blazing hot Packers humble the Cowboys
2-2 in the picks last week, I hope I do better this week.
-
Seahawks, Pats, Steelers, Packers
-
Consensus with the experts at ESPN have Atlanta, New England and Dallas favored. They're split on Pittsburgh and Kansas City.
-
Hello, Los Angeles Chargers
-
If it goes through--and barring somebody from San Diego doesn't make a last minute attempt to buy the team from the Spanos family to keep it in town--it would be disappointing to a loyal fanbase, but perhaps inevitable at this point. At least San Diego city officials did try their best. Now as an Eagles fan personally, this becomes an interesting development, as the team is scheduled to visit both the Rams and Chargers next season, so hopefully the head of league's scheduling office will be generous enough to put the two games in question either directly back to back or at opposite ends of the schedule for traveling convenience.
-
From what I saw concerning the Pro Bowl that it's going back to the AFC vs.NFC format.
-
The Steelers-Chiefs game originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon has now been moved back to Sunday night due to an ice storm in the forecast.
-
Yaaaaaaawn.
I doubt the Patriots/Texans game will be any better.
-
Blech...
0-1 to start the weekend and my team got dismantled.
Time to jump on the Chiefs wagon for the rest of the season.
-
Keep treating the Falcons like underdogs and we will win Super Bowl 51.
-
Fine product you're selling here, NFL.
-
Wow, what a game. The Packers are Atlanta-bound.
-
Green Bay should easily beat the Falcons. GB is unstoppable right now. Rodgers is having possibly the best playoff performance in NFL history.
-
I think it'll be close but Green Bay will prevail. Aaron Rodgers just keeps finding ways to win.
-
Ultraprice,
Matt Ryan hasn't been chopped liver either. Time to pay back Aaron Rodgers the last time we met in the playoffs. We will knock him and his State Farm Commercials into next season.
-
Steelers are marching into New England.
I'm going with Packers-Pats for the Super Bowl.
-
The Steelers are going to Foxboro.
I'm going with Packers/Pats as well.
-
2-2 in the picks again. I hope that I go 0-2 next week.
Genghis Tom & the Patriots win the AFC crown again.
Aaron Rodgers outguns Matt Ryan and the Falcons
-
Bob, if Matt Ryan does not throw an interception, the Falcons will play in Super Bowl 51. And here's to the Steelers to upset Pretty Boy Brady and the Patriots.
-
3-1 in picks for me again as I was wrong on Raiders/Texans and Seahawks/Falcons.
My picks:
Patriots over Steelers
Packers over Falcons
It looks a rematch of Super Bowl XXXI will happen 20 years later.
-
I like to see the Packers against the Steelers in the Super Bowl.
-
As per 92.9 "The Game" in Atlanta: There is scuttlebutt that the Raiders are considering a move to San Diego. Also bantered about: they would play in San Diego for at least two seasons until a stadium in Las Vegas is built for them.
Also: StubHub says that the cheapest tickets for the Super Bowl will run just a little over $3000. And with Dallas eliminated, the cheapest seats for the NFC Championship goes for just over $800.
-
Early lines have New England (-4.5) and Atlanta (-4) favored. New England covers; take the Packers and the candy.
-
Seahawks, Pats, Steelers, Packers
3 out of 4 I'll take it
-
I'm rooting for whoever wins the NFC. Not very fond of either the Pats or Steelers.
-
The Raiders have officially filed to relocate to Las Vegas.
-
Well, wasn't expecting a Falcons blowout.
-
Same old boring NFL.
-
0-1, but I'm very happy that the Packers were shown the door and I'm on the Falcons wagon.
Now, if Genghis Tom and the Patriots can be conquered, that would be the icing on the cake.
-

-
New England opens up as a 3 point favorite.
-
This was the worst edition of the NFL playoffs in quite a long time. Only one game was entertaining all the way through and the rest were blander than a cracker with no seasoning.
1-1 in the picks. At least the Packers lost...
I'll pick the Pats to win and hope that I'm wrong.
-
I pick New England to win it all.
-
Atlanta is in the Super Bowl for the first time in 18 years. Hope they can upset the Patriots.
Bill Belichick will coach his 7th Super Bowl which will break the all-time record for most Super Bowl appearances by a head coach. New England will now be the leader in Super Bowl appearances.
-
Two weeks out and local sports talk radio is already saying it'll be a shootout. They're also rationalizing that people were skittish about Aaron Rodgers coming in the Dome and lighting it up, and look what happened. They're now rationalizing that about Tom Brady.
-
After firing Ryan Grigson, the Indianapolis Colts hire Chris Ballard as the new General Manager.

Michael Vick has announced his retirement. (Good riddance)
-
Oakland's plans to move to Las Vegas has hit a snag as a party to fund a stadium there has pulled out. There is now talk of the Raiders moving to San Diego.
-
This year's class of NFL Hall of Fame inductees has been announced:
QB Kurt Warner
RB LaDanian Tomlinson
DE Jason Taylor
S Kenny Easley
RB Terrell Davis
K Morten Anderson
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones

Considering that the Patriots have cheated numerous times (Brady, Belichick, etc.) on various things over the years, if they win again tonight then in my opinion I will call them real cheaters. Let's hope I'm wrong and that the Falcons win tonight.

What did the Patriots do this season that sets them apart from any others? If anything, the real cheater here is Roger Goodell who felt the need to enforce double jeopardy at Tom Brady's expense. Brady's suspension shouldn't have stood but they're there because they did fine without him. I'm sure if the suspension did make a difference, Roger would be the one thrown under the bus.
-
Seriously? Can the Patriots get first downs without the help of the freaking refs?
Edit: Brady throws an interception return for a touchdown. Nice try.

Call an offensive hold on Atlanta and miss a facemask by New England on the same play.
Yeah, that's fair.
-
We have a first in Super Bowl history. This game is going into overtime.
-
The fix is in.
-
WOW!
WOW!!
WOW!!!
-
Only one thing to say is wow - I really didn't think this could happen at all. The Falcons really choked
-
Disappointing result.
-

Waaaaaaaaaaaah
-
Tom Brady= GOAT
-
Did the Patriots cheat last night? No. The Falcons simply went vanilla after that 28-3 lead. The Falons should have won but the Patriots deserved to win.
-
The fix is in.
I love the Pats, but it's okay if you don't/hate them. This kind of stuff, though, I don't take kindly to, independent of teams involved, given its too frequent connotations/parallels to this board's primary function with game shows. We're not talking about Dotto, flat tires, or the WWE, this isn't fixed.

I'm one person so good luck trying to convince these people otherwise as well.

Yeesh, didn't even have to type in the "l" for that result to show up in the first picture. Yes, the Falcons deserved to lose but with any controversial outcome, people will believe what they want to believe. Case in point:
There are people who still believe game shows can be fixed despite that being illegal since the late 1950s. Doesn't make them right although they are entitled to their opinion. Pains me as well but I can't do anything about it.
-
Ignorance is bliss to them. Assumption unfortunately trumps fact-finding.
-
The Falcons now own the dishonor of the biggest choke job in Super Bowl history. Their playcalling in the second half was absolutely terrible, and the evil empire took full advantage and quashed the rebels to win the war. I don't know about everybody else, but I'm ready for the Major League Baseball season to kick off.
-
I wonder if all of this is going to make them change the OT rules for next season? Like to allow each team to have a possession regardless if they score a touchdown, field goal, or any other score.
-
I wonder if all of this is going to make them change the OT rules for next season? Like to allow each team to have a possession regardless if they score a touchdown, field goal, or any other score.
Doubt it. OT should be about the first score winning and it was right the way they had it before. The way it's set up now with the game continuing after a field goal on the first possession is broken.
-
Disagree. I'd much prefer the college rules for OT be implemented for the NFL.
The fact that the outcome of the game essentially came down to a coin flip left a bad taste in my mouth...and I'd be saying the same thing if the Falcons had won the toss and scored on their first possession. That still doesn't change the fact that this was probably one of the best Super Bowls I've ever seen...even if it resulted in a team that wins entirely too much winning yet again.
-
Atlanta wasted zero time in a change in personnel. OC Kyle Shanahan leaves for the 49ers head coach job and will be replaced with Steve Sarkisian from Alabama.
