The TALK Is Right / Re: Perfect Bid: The Contestant Who Knew Too Much
« Last post by crinos43 on Today at 01:41:19 AM »
It is now on Hulu, so I got a chance to watch it yesterday.

I enjoyed it a lot. It was really cool to hear the history or how the exacta came to be.

I find it extremely off-putting though to hear that while Bob and Roger were all for contestants being able to perfectly bid items because of how often they were used, that Kathy Greco has the opposite opinion.

Ted had been to the show at least two DOZEN times. He was mentioned by Bob on camera multiple times BEFORE being a contestant. Seems to me like the only person who doesn't like seeing LfaTs around there was her.

Here's the article that is talking about what may be the worst clue in the history of Pyramid:

Yeah, everyone's blowing his gaffe out of proportion.

The real worst clue was that guy a couple seasons back who thought "your wife" was a good clue for "things you hit."

How would they do that?

They already screen test contestants around the country, so it wouldn't difficult to find a family or two with a serviceman serving overseas, stick 'em behind the Big Doors at the right moment, and have them model a car. If Ellen can pull it off, so can Price.

Does Drew's 2000th episode as host air this coming season?

Drew's 2,000th show happened back on February 13, so no.

...I'm upset that I'm the only one who moved the marker. Barker's Markers is literally the Monty Hall problem with 4 prizes instead of 3 doors.

Though it is a bit different in this format, since in the actual game you'd know which two were left and could then choose to move (or not) by that.  Depending on your first picks, it might be easier or harder to choose.

For example here, if you first picked $1945, $2377 and $2869, you would have had $2377 and $2869 revealed to be correct.

That would leave you with $1945 marked, and $3893 as the other choice.  With those it would likely be easier to pick which was correct for the third item (since there is quite a difference in the two options).

I know they have around 100 Supermarket Sweep episodes (almost every 1991 episode) of which they're now in their second cycle.
Except they added new ones a few weeks ago, and they're moving into the 1992 season as of the second episode tomorrow.

I noticed that by this episode the black area (steps that is) around the big doors is gone, leaving it a solid white. This narrows the change between late January 1975 and this episode.
