Pushover: Well, somebody realized that the producers tend to shoot the correct price at the end of the line. Today, it didn't work out.

Temptation: I'm surprised the digit Monica didn't lose on wasn't the third digit, as she could have been easily tripped with the 8. But there is no excuse for missing the fourth digit.

Clock Game: Dennis was not on his game.

Calldown 4: What the heck gave that fan permission to call the next person to come on down? That was neat!

Side by Side: Fairly easy.

Cover Up: Well done! I thought it was $18,516.

Hi-Lo: I was shocked to see this played for a car! There were four products that were possible choices- the baby formula, the vitamin chews, the foot cream, and the snore aid. It's too bad she had to blow it by choosing the allergy medicine, because she was doing so well up until then.

Showcases: Both were pretty nice today. That F-150 continues to throw people off in showcases, and this episode was no exception. I was surprised it was so cheap, given an arcade game was also involved.

Overall: Things got better as soon as the fan got to call the next person to "Come on down!".

Pushover- Ouch! The moment that Rachel went pass $7524 there was no doubt in my mind she had lost.

Temptation- Monica should have took the prizes  and run with it. I had a feeling that one of the numbers were wrong.

Clock Game-Ugh! Whatit just me or did Dennis seem to be scattered.

Cover up-Karen couldn't haven't played that any better, nice win.

Good lineup.  Great show.

Nice to see Bob involving more audience members in bits. (Like allowing them to call someone down)  That's a throwback to years past!

Trisha was a lot of fun.  She just "knew" she was going to win the showcase, so yay for psychic sense!  Not that she'd have been too upset if she were wrong, but nothing wrong with her optimism, and just being happy getting up there in the first place!  And it's always nice having the day's best contestant make it to and win the showcase, anyway!

I liked Catherine a lot for no real reason besides her $421 bid on the gumball machine.  Even though the bid didn't win, just that she'd avoid the evil $420 bid like that (http://www.angelfire.com/la3/goldenroad15/misc/smile1.txt).

I wonder why Bob never explained the rules for Clock Game to Dennis.  When Bob asked if he knew how to play, Dennis said he only sorta' knew how to play, and Bob never did tell him how to play, or try to make sure he understood how to play.  That was odd.  As it is, Dennis did seem to know sorta' how to play, with "sorta" being the key word.

I do have to give Dennis some credit for realizing how many prices in the real world end in 95, though.  He'd have won a typical playing of Coming or Going easily (http://www.angelfire.com/la3/goldenroad15/misc/smile3.txt)!

Today's gifts had to be the junkiest gift package offered in Temptation in years.  Even the TV was absolutely nothing special.  Despite how obviously wrong the second 9 was, I really can't blame Monica at all for risking the gifts today.

The audience member calling down the fourth contestant?  Really weird.  I'm sorry to say I was completely unimpressed by it.  Guess it's nice that Rich got on camera, though!

As nice as it was seeing Hi Lo for a car, I do wish Roger could've switched the slots for Hi Lo and Push Over.  A car could've actually justified playing a grocery game in the first slot for the first time in years.

I was surprised that there was no SP in this show, since SP-less shows were so rare earlier in the season, and today's lineup didn't seem to justify it.  I don't think I'll ever fully understand that system.

No.  Instead of running with the gifts, she should've just changed that second nine.

Um, she didn't really play particularly well.  She got lucky that the fourth digit actually was high for a change, though.

I have two quick comments:

Temptation: I knew from the git-go Monica had lost when she bid $19,390. And I had a hunch she should went with the "4" on the third prize and not the "9"

Clock Game: Too bad he lost. I was really confused when I saw the yellow board. When I saw it I thought "oh wow, they decided blue didn't really work and changed it back." Then I remembered today was a "lost episode" that was taped before Hurricane Katrina. For some reason whenever I see the current board, I want to change the name to the "Crayola Game." It makes me think of Crayola crayons for some reason.

I know Rachel from Push Over.  She's a student from the University of Pittsburgh and is from Connellsville (sp?) PA.  She'll be entering her junior year and has probably been watching PIR on KDKA, Channel 2 in Pittsburgh.  I know that heels gave her a smilely, but being on her floor freshman year, beauty isn't everything.  Let's just say she kept her door open at bad times.

A shame she lost.  I would have thought $5K.

Hi Lo for a car was interesting and admittedly tough.

Bidding Round #1- #233, Catherine (http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/37/233catherine612061bm.jpg), AND #234, Monica (http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/1452/234monica612068kt.jpg), AND #235, Rachel (http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/6413/235rachel612061rr.jpg)! The second 3-hottie bidding round this season!!! :-D

Clock Game- Just a few more seconds and he would've had it. He took way too much time on the first prize.

Hi Lo- Ouch, that's painful loss. A car being won in Hi Lo would've been pretty sweet.

Showcase- New Orleans goes 2-for-2! Good to see. :-)

BEST CONTESTANT OF THE DAY- Catherine.

SHOW SUMMARY AND GRADE- Fairly uneventful show today... Grade: 1

You know, heels, Trisha is going to feel left out on your first bidding round comments.  Then again, I'd have picked Karen over your choices, so what do I know (http://www.angelfire.com/la3/goldenroad15/misc/smile4.txt).

That is both cryptic and confusing.  You don't sound like you like her, but you also sound disappointed that she lost.

Push Over: I had a feeling Rachel had it right for a second before she made her final push. I thought she made a bad aftermove. She did.

The Temptation of Price: "Two 9s? I think you should change that second 9." [The buzzer] "Oh, if Monica should've changed it..."

Clock Game: Oooh, I didn't think Dennis would get both, especially during those 1000+ bids for the sofa.

Side by Side: I wasn't too sure. My best guess would be 5245.

Cover Up: Once again, using double numbers fooled me. Because of what happened on Temptation, I didn't think Karen wouldn't win with 18571. Give me a couple of buzzers.

Hi-Lo: It's been a while since I've seen someone trip up on the Airborne Gummies, even though this was a backdated show.

Crud. My tape ended after Hi-Lo. I missed the New Orleans offer in the Showcase. I would've been even more upset if there was another full credit roll like last time. But since I didn't see any other posts about it, I think it didn't happen.

I don't NOT like her.  She's a very nice person that just has a few bad habits that are NWS and that's all that we need to be discussed.

Push Over: I had a bad feeling Rachel shoved the price down too far.

Temptation: I knew Monica lost once she left the sencond 9 alone.

Clock Game: I really wanted Derek to win.  Then again, starting with the $1000 range would cost him.

Side by side: I knew $5245 was correct.

Cover Up- Nicely played.

Hi-Lo, I was surprised that it was grest to see this game played for a car.  But darn, I figured the Airborne would trip up Trisha.

Showcases: I was surpised that Trisha made a good bid on the FRCS.  I had a hunch Derek would go over.

Overall: It was a fairly average show.

PS: thewhammy_2000, the split screen credits were used, so you're safe.

This was a fun show, not perfect but very fun. I loved Rich on camera. Even it was only to let some dweeb call somebody down.

Catherine, when you jump up and spin the wheel, there is no excuse not to get it all the way around. Glad you didn't lose a tooth. LOL

And did anyone else notice that this postponed episode was aired while Alberto is in the Gulf? I thought that was funny as hell.

Don't worry, it's not going to New Orleans and it's only a category 1 as of this typing, but it is coming here. But still, I thought that was funny.

Actually, the one time she didn't get the wheel all the way around was the one time she didn't perform a jumping spin.  I guess Bob talked her out of trying that for her second spin, but then, since she couldn't get it all the way around the normal way, she did a jumping spin again the third time.

Pushover: Too bad, we were due for an all the way push, but not today!

Temptation: Well, 2500 total for the 4 prizes, I would have went for the car. Should have changed that second 9, I knew when she went for it she was hit.

Clock Game: If he wouldn't have stumbled in that first prize, he would have got the second one right(wasted time!)

4th One Bid..Whoa....How did Rich keep the contestant from seeing if his name was on the list for 5th or 6th one bid? Very nice to see Rich!

Side: I thought we were gonna see DP, but hey, what's the difference. A win(and a yawn, as usual for this one..)

Cover: Could have been tricky with that 1 on the end, but she won!

Hi/Lo: Has the snore stop been on here before? 8.99 sounds a little low for that anyway....

BIG QUESTION: What happens to the contestant who won the NOLA trip? Substituted trip? Anyone know?

I gotta bite on this one, what the hell is so funny about the upcoming record busy (again unfortunately) hurricane season? I live hundreds of miles from the gulf and don't see the humor in your smart alec remark.

One-Bid #1 - Monica!  :-P

PG #1 - Wow, that was more expensive than I thought!  I would've said $5,922.

PG #2 - This is gonna sound strange, but Tempty was actually winnable today!  The only toss-up number was the third number (3 or 8).  This game absolutely should not have been lost on the fourth number.  Roger would not be that evil as to double up any number in Tempty.

PG #3 - I'm sorry, but that prize cue absolutely does not belong in Clock Game.  For not knowing how to play this game, Dennis actually played it better than some contestants who do know how to play.

SCSD #1 - Darn, Dennis knocked the hottie out of the game.  Well, Stu Dunfy of "In Living Color" said it best:  "The wheel can be a ho."

Before One-Bid #4 - Yay!  Rich on camera!  :-D  :-D  :-D  And Britland, don't quit your day job.

PG #4 - Yay!  Side By Side!  :-P

One-Bid #5 - I've never seen a contestant before with Secret X written on her T-shirt.

PG #5 - Cover Up again?  Didn't we just play this... oh, never mind.  Hallelujah!  Somebody picked 1 as the last number in a Pontiac!  :-D

PG #6 - "Man, these are some tough products.  Why would Roger make this game so hard today?  He'd do it if we were playing for a car, but there's no way in Hell that Hi-Lo is gonna get played for a-- :-o oh my God, Hi-Lo is getting played for a car!"  So when was the last time Hi-Lo was played for a car?  The sunflower seeds was the only product up there that obviously did not belong on the "Hi" row.  With products as tough as those, this game should've been played for a nice car instead of a Cobalt.

Showcases - It's time for CSS, with special guest David Vitter!  :-)

My bids - FRCS:  $15,100.  Truck:  $23,700.

I just wanted to say hello to everyone.  I'm Rachel from today's show. I spoke to a few people on the "talk is right" board before I ever went out to California, and now that the show has finally aired, I thought I would come back.  I certainly do not enjoy the comments with my personal information posted and anything not true and slanderous that is said by this person, but the other ones are always great.  Looking at the show, I knew I messed up, too.  Although, I got to see it a long time ago as TPIR sent me a dvd in about January since the show was so delayed.  Any other questions are certainly welcome.  Thanks for the smiles!

David Vitter is a horrible speaker. (http://www.golden-road.net/grnoldx/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif)

I'm kind of disappointed...I've known since October that Plinko wasn't played this week, but it never, ever crossed my mind that this was actually the first show of the season without a small prize game. (http://www.golden-road.net/grnoldx/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_sad.gif)

I'm not going to say Push Over necessarily should have been won, but it certainly shouldn't have been lost that way.

Temptation was actually pretty easy as long as you got the third number right.  It was sort of painful to watch the end of the game -- you knew the price wasn't going to have the second and fourth numbers both be 9.

Dennis seemed like a nice enough guy, but he never quite got the hang of Clock Game.

This might be the most face time I've ever seen Rich get.  It was awesome to see him on-camera for so long -- I don't even care about the audience member calling the contestant.  (Rich obviously did, though, which was also great -- he was clearly having a ball with the whole thing.)

I really hope some of the summer reruns are from early in the season just so we can see some more episodes with the mid-show bumper.

Hi Lo was winnable, but it certainly wasn't a gimme.  I had a hunch as soon as I saw the Airborne that it was the cheap package.

The showcases were both pretty good...the first one had a neat theme, and I thought it was neat that they actually worked a story into the Mall showcase.

Assuming that the credits airing on the October 17 show had something to do with it running on Memorial Day or a mistake that they "fixed" on this episode after discovering it on that one, I really wish they'd run this program first -- there was a full credit roll today. (http://www.golden-road.net/grnoldx/modules/Forums/images/smiles/icon_sad.gif)

John or Marc should be upgrading you to Glod Star status any time now.

Jacob Wilkey just won an internet.

Hi Rachel! :D  Good to see you poke your head in.  I have two questions:

1) This DVD you got?  Was it the PiR DVD game or something random?

2) I assume you'll be keeping the motorcycle?  Western Pennsylvania seems like bike territory (unless your name is Ben Rothlisberger.)

heck, the weather channel where i live does not have that kind of graphic anymore.  but how I miss that graphic though. also, rachael, did that audience member bug bob that much to call that 4th one bid contestant down.  just wondering.

It is the actual DVD of the show I was on.  The Price Is Right sent it to me with a letter saying they hoped to air the show by the end of 2006.  (This was in late January.)  A lot of people in McCormick saw it last winter.  It's a amusing because it has blank space in it for commerical breaks, as in black space on the DVD where the commericals went today.

Why would an Eagle's fan bring that up?  Haha...No, actually.  The bike is huge, far too big for me.  As can only happen in Southwestern Pa, I traded it in for half of my current car (my dad paid the other half).  I figured it was best that someone had it who could actually get some use out of it.  I'm in the city 9 months a year anyways. (see facebook if you're curious for some pics, but they're not all there)  BTW, the dealership still hasn't sold it...Here it is. (http://www.scottcautosales.com/listingview.php?listingID=454)

Nah...not really, he told Rich that he wanted his job someday.  Bob asked him to come up to the mic during the previous commerical break, and Bob thought he was so good he let him do it on camera.

Since I'm a geek about this sort of thing...does the DVD have the slate at the beginning, or does it just begin with the actual episode?

Pushover: I wasn't sure whether to go with $5,922, or $7,592 here. What I do know is the second Rachel went past the seven, this game was toast. You're not going to get to Barcelona on $3,175 unless you get shipped there in a crate.

Temptation: One of the few times where I would've won the car on this game... A shame Monica didn't change that second 9 to a 4.. :-?

All Prizes Are Less Than $999: First Dennis didn't exactly do too well on the washer/dryer, then his first five guesses on the sofa are over $1,000?! Ugh... That was painful to watch.

Pre-IUFB #4: Uhhh.. That was, uhh... interesting. How the heck did an audience member get the chance to play announcer?

Side By Side: Having seen that sauna enough, that was obviously $5,245.. And for anyone who hasn't seen the sauna before, $5,245 just looked better than $4,552 anyway... Wheee! A win!

Cover Up: You know, I was more than a little worried here after Karen's first turn.. But she managed to not only pick the 1 on the second turn, but get the 5 right as well.. Wow.. Two in a row!

Hi-Lo: Trisha must've gotten herself mixed up, thinking the "Gummi lozenges" was the regular ol' Airborne.. Not that would've saved her with the SnoreStop being $8.99... Brutal setup. Ouch.

Showcases: It's always nice to see someone give a pretty decent bid on a showcase with trips, instead of falling into the $15,000 or less trap we see a lot of.. I was thinking $18,000 myself, but $17,500 was a pretty nice bid (and I was shocked it turned out to be $19,000 and change, though Trisha was still in pretty good shape)..

As far as Dennis'.. While an F150 is more expensive than a Ranger, it's not an Explorer.. I was thinking $25,500, and had absolutely no doubt he was well over at $30,100...

Roddyfan, they haven't used that graphic on TWC in at least 6 years(probably more actually). And if you have satellite, you'd never see the local anyways..

Rachel, glad to hear they at least cared to send you the tape/dvd of your show considering that it may have never aired at all.

And did anyone else notice that this postponed episode was aired while Alberto is in the Gulf? I thought that was funny as hell.

That was ironic to say the least...and some of the media around here were hyping Alberto as if Death Itself were swirling in the Gulf. As far as I'm concerned, Death Itself struck on August 29th (and went right over my backyard as a category 1 storm 4 days before).

Over here we missed the introduction and the show opening due to WFOR channel 4's bulletin on Tropical Storm Alberto. I didn't mind that as much as I minded the 90 seconds of ads and plugs that they insisted on airing after the bulletin. That's a bad habit they have.

So as a result we joined in just as Rich begins describing the motorbikes for one-bid #1.

Pushover: Going all the way to the end didn't make sense today. Either the $7520 or $5922 prices looked good, with $7520 looking better. Too bad Rachel kept going...she knew the game allright, but she knew it too well.

Temptation: The 3rd digit tripped me up as well. The $19,390 just didn't look right to me.

Clock Game: Nice to see the yellow board again. Too bad Dennis lost it by $1, he seemed to have gotten a reasonable grasp of it.

Wow, some Joe Q. Plinko gets to call a contestant down. All the wierd stuff seems to happen on preempted shows...

And of course it's nice to see Rich get some face time.

Side By Side: It was nice seeing this again (maybe it was on one of the recent shows I haven't seen).

Cover-Up: I'd seen that price before so I was rooting for her to pick the 1 as the last digit.

Hi-Lo: Once Trisha picked the lozenges, it was all over.

Showcases: A contestant and I had the ESP thing going again. Trish and I both went with $17,500. And somewhat similarly...Dennis and I both went over. I bid $27,000 on his showcase.

Interesting show today.

EDIT: Jacob, that was some good work you did with that Weatherstar 4000 graphic! My cable system last used it around mid-1998.
EDIT 2: (since for once I didn't read all the posts before replying     ) Hello, Sarah. Too bad you lost the trip, but I hope you had fun anyway.

Not true.  It all depends on where you live.  In fact, the one around here didn't start using that graphic until about six years ago.

I would have lost Push Over today. I was thinking the $5,000 one. The right price just seemed.....too expensive.

Tempy, on the other hand, seemed easy. Unless we were to be fooled with two 9s, it should have been easy.

Of course, that third number was a little bit tricky.

*sigh* We might as well offer $1,000+ items in Clock Game, if people go that high anyway. Tough loss, all the same.

Side by Side, covered in dust, as usual. I'll bet we see this one more time before the season is through.

Cover Up gets no comment today as I can't think of one.  :-)

That Airborne! No wonder this was for a car. :-x

Good to see someone go in the $30,000s on a showcase that could have been in the $30,000s. Did that make any sense?

Overall: I wasn't too impressed with the way that 4th contstant was called down, but between giving Rich more face time, and the poster with Bob on it, it was a decent show.

It's sort of confusing; each cable company's headend has a different WeatherSTAR computer (which is responsible for the local forecast graphics, and information). Most use the IntelliSTAR (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IntelliStar), which came out in 2004, or the WeatherSTAR XL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weather_STAR_XL), which came out in 1998.

However, since Steve is in such a small town, his cable company still has the WeatherSTAR 4000 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weather_STAR_4000) (which by the way, still uses the old, rounded TWC logo, and  came out in the late '80s!), because it probably couldn't afford one of the newer STARs.

Consider yourself lucky, Steve. 4000s that are still in use are very rare these days!

Whew, better get back on topic here...

Nice to hear CBS was thinking of the contestants having to suffer an indefinite delay before getting to see their episode.

Anyway, Steve asked about the slate, but I'm curious about a few other things.  I assume there was no CBS bug in the corner of this DVD recording, was there?  And did it include the real credits?  Plus, what kind of a title menu was there for the DVD?  Was it something with a little creativity, or just a standard title list seen for something recorded on a DVD recorder?  Plus, did the disc have any special label on it, or was the episode number and date just written in with a marker?

Yeah, I know this is a lot, but this is the first time I've heard of the show providing episode copies to the contestants.

No, there was no CBS bug.  It included the normal credits.  The menu was divided into 6 parts.  You could start that the bigening of the 6 game segments, that was all.  The label simply said "TPIR #3342K" written in black maker.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you.  I've been working a lot.  I hope I answered everything you were looking for, but if I didn't feel free to ask more.

I see...was the menu very plain and generic looking, or was there anything special to it?

Well, you've answered everything I was looking for, but two more things I'm wondering.  Was the commercial portion of the closed captioning plug included (actually, were the closed captioning plugs included at all?)?, and do you happen to know if the other eight contestants called that day received copies, or did just the six on-stage contestants get copies?
