It’s back!!!
After a nearly two-year-long hiatus, Renty’s Price is Right is back and better than ever!
I consider it an honor to be the first host under Roadgeek Adam’s tenure as HYO moderator, so I want this show to be a darn good one! This section has been slipping in participation lately, and I would love to turn that trend around with an excellent show full of excitement and quality participants! And by “quality participants,” I mean those who represent everything that is great about this site. This show is open to all, but the nine I choose will be based purely on merit. You know who you are, so please, sign up!
Rules:
Sign-ups will be open to all for a minimum of 72 hours.
Priority will be given to those who display quality and excellence in their posts and actions on the site; however, everyone is welcome to sign up.
Contestants will have the typical 24 hour response time before being buzzed out of their item up for bids or pricing game; a failure to respond during the Showcase Showdown or Showcases will be allowed, but only if it is your first instance.
Two failures to respond within the 24 hour limit will result in disqualification from the show.
Other general HYO rules apply.
I have an excellent show lined up full of exciting pricing games and wonderful prizes, so I hope to see many of you sign up -- especially the greats!

I esteem this approach. It is interesting to peruse, with respect to your player selection method; it is the same modus I use to determine with which shows to amalgamate my name. Given what high approbation many old guard members, including myself, have for you, I'd be more than appreciative to hopefully come on down and disport on this production.

I want to make it clear that any and everyone is welcome to sign up -- I'm just giving priority to senior/quality members, especially with this being the first show under Adam's watch. Jess understood, but I want to make sure everyone else does, too. My criteria is meant to encourage participation, not discourage.

I'm mainly more of a host than a player when it comes to forum shows, but since I haven't had a lot of time for working on scripts, the least I can do to help support the HYO section is to get in line with the other fine folks.

It’s a 4K UHD TV! Because 1080p wasn’t a high enough resolution that was a pain in the ass for both media content creators and cable and satellite providers to upgrade their respective infrastructures for, this 43 inch television by Sony features a resolution that very little content can currently take advantage of, as well as a built-in Android TV tuner that supposedly makes this a smart TV, but in reality, it’s probably not all that smart when compared to a Roku or Apple TV box!

Now, I have to ask... Would you like to change any of those numbers on the board? You seemed unsure of yourself a couple of times, so if you would like to go against your initial gut instincts, you are perfectly able to do so. After all, what's the worst that could happen, except potentially losing your pricing game and having to wait a day or two or three before having a chance to redeem yourself in the Showcase Showdown?

Yeah, I wish there was a way hosts could be given some sort of temporary mod power over their own threads so we can continuously change the main subject line as the show progresses instead of having to wait on someone else (Roadgeek Adam, cough cough :P) to do it. I'm quite positive no such setting exists on the admin side of the forum, at least one that doesn't also give mod powers over all of the other threads within the section, but it would be nice if it did.
And while we're discussing subject lines, Teddy's last show still shows up as being in Pricing Game 1, with the 'thumbs up' indicator still in place, even though the show ended over a month ago.

Wow, what can I say?
I couldn’t have hoped for better participation. Just an excellent showing from you guys and gals all around. I hope I delivered well on my end on things. More importantly, I hope this show was able to spark some life back into this section. Roadgeek Adam, thank you for giving me the opportunity to host the first show under your watch. I tried to make it a darn good one for you, and I think we’ve succeeded here.
Thank you all so much for participating, and here’s to hopefully many more excellent shows to follow! I’ll probably slip back into retirement from hosting for a while, but I’ll definitely be signing up for future HYO’s whenever I can!
/The holidays are fast approaching, and it would be really cool if one of you could host a special, perhaps? Just saying… :P
