Title: Shock's Half-Hour Price is Right: Episode 1: Modernized 1972 Price! - Final
Post by: DarkShockBro on July 04, 2019, 01:23:31 PM
Come on down!

I'm back, baby!  :-D

You have no idea how pumped I am. After two and a half years, we can finally host a show on this amazing forum once more, and I'm so excited to be able to call all of you down once again!

And to pay tribute to this forum's renewal, and just The Price is Right in general, this will be a half hour show, just like it was back in 1972. And, coincidentally, that is going to be the theme of this show. That's right; I'm going to modernize this episode based on how it would have appeared in the first year The New Price is Right was aired!

So if you're excited to see this modern adaptation of classic Price is Right, sign up so we can have some fun!  :-)

I still don't have any graphics, but I will have pictures and different font colors, so you'll be able to see everything nice and clear.  :-)

Now, I'll restate my rules.

1. I will send you a PM when you are called down to Contestant's Row, but it is your responsibility to check your messages frequently to make sure you don't miss it.

2. 24 hours for everything! If you fail to meet this 24 hour deadline once, you will be skipped in Contestant's Row, and I will call up another person if you miss this deadline during a pricing game, the Showcase Showdown, or the Showcases. If you miss the deadline twice in Contestant's Row, you will be eliminated.

3. I can be flexible with the deadline as long as you PM me details beforehand. I can and will handle it from there.

4. Audience participation is very much encouraged!  :-) ...It's also more or less compulsory.  ;-)  :P

Oh, and because it's topical, I have a juicy little question for you all! The funniest responses will allow you to gain heavy priority in when you are called up to Contestant's Row, so it is very much encouraged for you to create one if you sign up for this show.  :-)

Here is the scenario:

Since Mike Richards left Price to pursue a job with Sony, the executives naturally decided to promote existing producer Adam Sandler. ...However, due to an accidental typo, they hired the actor and producer of such movies like Happy Gilmore to be the executive producer instead! The producers realized this clerical error too late, and now Adam Sandler has full control of The Price is Right for the 48th season premiere! ...What happens in that episode under his 'direction?'

I expect great things from you all.  ;-)

Have fun, and I will start the episode on July 7th! As such, you all have about 72 hours to sign up for this show, although I am open to extending this deadline at any point.  :-)

Hey Shock! Glad to have you back. Allow me to be the first to sign up, please. I bet this will a great show.

As for the S48 premiere, the show opens and everyone is dressed in hockey gear. The pricing game Hole in One (or Two) will be played six times, albeit with a different obstacle to overcome, maybe a loop, or a ramp, or a rigged clown obstacle with its nose all smashed up. Each time Hole in One is won...well...the contestant gets beat up by Adam Sandler himself. Too bad.

Kevin James hosts, and David Spade fills the role of announcer. The models are Chris Rock, Jackie Sandler, and Rob Schneider. Rob Schneider is in drag.

The lineup includes 3 Strikes (retitled The Benchwarmer), Lucky Seven (retitled Ridiculous Six), and a new game where the contestant has to reach into various buckets to find the correct price. The right buckets have the prizes the contestant is looking for. The wrong buckets have maggots, scorpions, manure, and other gross-out jokes.

Showcase 1 is themed around Operaman with a trip to the finest opera houses around the world, and Showcase 2 is based on a bunch of jokes about bodily functions.

The episode is released directly to Netflix as soon as it finishes airing on CBS. It inexplicably is the highest-rated Price is Right episode in fifteen years.

In all reality, since Fremantle would make sure that Sandler doesn't go too overboard, the show would look something like:

One Wrong Price (The price is wrong, [expletive])
Vend-O-Price (Somehow get 50 individual dates on one level, Airheads on the next, and frozen peach cobbler, as a joke to 50 First Dates, Airheads, and The Cobbler)
That's Too Much (Going Overboard)
Make Your Move (Just rip off the Band-Aid and do the Jack and Jill stuff here, since there literally is a Price is Right scene in that movie. Prizes would be a set of Adam Sandler DVDs, a coffee machine (Dunkaccino), and a trip to New York (Hometown of Jack and Jill))
Bonkers (aka Mixed Nuts)
Rat Race (Zookeeper/The Animal/whatever joke)

...but since no one cares about the quality of the showcases anymore, both the showcases are just Adam Sandler failing miserably to be funny. One jokes solely on potty humor, while the other is supposed to be Hotel Transylvania themed, but just like the series, the execution just falls flat.

I'm in!

In Adam Sandler's first show in control: -Adam offers Drew a cameo in the upcoming sequel of Happy Gilmore, and when Drew passes Adam does not take it well and punches him. Drew gets up and fights back quickly, and the two fight through the first segment of the show as gameplay is going on and Drew utters Bob's infamous line from the first movie as he throws to commercial.
-During Hole in One, Drew's inspiration putt spectacularly fails and he ends up taking out stage lights from the ceiling and monitors to prove he has no skill in golf. Adam comes out with the gold hockey stick putter from the movie and he hits the shot despite all the debris on the ground in his way.
-Drew decides to accept and the second Showcase includes filming his cameo, with the winner getting a trip to the premiere. Both contests overbid and Adam comes up and relentlessly mock them. He storms off at the end of the show and we see a pre-taped segment of Adam leaving the studio and going to Bob Barker's home and begging him to return.

I'd be down to join.

With Adam in charge, I would  hope the show turns from a into a game show into a hour long roast of Adam Sandler from some of his closest friends.

Honestly don't know a lot about Adam, but I could see him being able to take a good joke  :-).

gamesurf, come on down!

tpir04, come on down!

And JayC, come on down!

You are the first four contestants on The Price is Right!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYxy55L3TWA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYxy55L3TWA)

And now, here's the star of The Price is Right... DarrrrrrkShockBro!

I come out of the big doors, wearing a regular suit without a tie, and my normally messy hair is very neatly combed with a bit of hair gel in it. The audience roars with applause as I take it in before jogging up to Amber Lancaster, pumping my fist, and then taking the 70s style microphone.

Welcome back to the Price is Right, everybody!

I stand there with the microphone, nearly in tears, as I take in the crowd's reaction.

...You all are the best. You truly are.  :-) Say hello to George Gray as well!

The audience applauds as George waves for the camera.

George: We're back, everyone! Hi, Momma May! We're on air again!

How about that, everyone? I didn't think we'd get back, but here we are! Now, to celebrate this amazing show coming back, I feel like we should pay tribute to the real life Price is Right! So, as such, this episode is heavily inspired by an episode all the way back in 1972; the year this amazing show made it to the airwaves!

The audience, and Contestant's Row applauds with gusto!

I feel the same way! Now, are you four ready for the first item up for bids? I know I am! George, tell them what it is!

George: We're gonna start with the first item up for bids The Price is Right ever offered: a fur coat!

Rachel Reynolds models the coat, and fluffs it a bit while turning around to show the front and back of it off.

George: It's the Nadia Hooded Fur Coat, from Alice + Olivia, with long sleeves, stretch material, hook closures, and made from... um, fur! Now cut away from me before Bob shows up!

Relax, George, um, it'll be fine! We're preserving Price is Right history, after all... I think! Anyway, that... luxurious coat goes to the one of you four who bids closest to the actual retail price without going over!

JayC, you're up first! And, um, please bid quickly!

to tpir04 Pfffffft, PETA? What are they gonna do: make me play a marathon of their terrible parody flash games like Super Tofu Boy?  :P I mean, come on, they're basically an internet punchlin-

I suddenly hear a song come from around gamesurf, and my eyes widen. ...A second later, I start to grin widely.

On second thought, I feel a musical coming on!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SiylvmFI_8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SiylvmFI_8)

I clear my throat as the lights dim. The only places where the spotlights aren't dimmed are under me, and the fur coat, which is now off of Rachel and on a stand. My expression becomes much more serious, as I start to sing, albeit an octave lower.

Spend all your time waiting for that second chance
For the break that will make it ok
There's always some reason to feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction oh beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
They may be empty and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight

In the arms of an Angel fly away from here
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of an Angel; may you find some comfort here...

For all of those in Contestant's Row, you may be able to win this coat so that you can use it in a much more humane way than a crazy cat lady in Beverley Hills. Call 1-800-FUR-COAT to learn how you can help, and remember, my fellow LFaTs... help control the pet population. Have your pets sprayed or neutered.

The lights finally go back to normal as the audience applauds and I start lightly chuckling.

Ah, man, that was great. Thanks for the inspiration, gamesurf.  :-D

Anyways, we do have a show to continue, so let's lock in all of your bids!

JayC      PayingTheRent      tpir04      gamesurf
$2,200         $1,400               $2,500      $1,401

With that said, the actual retail price of that luxurious coat is... $1,595! gamesurf, you've got it! Come on up here!  :-)

The bell dings repeatedly as gamesurf makes his way on stage excitedly!

(Continued in next post.  :-) )

gamesurf makes his way down to me, and I extend my hand to him.

Welcome to the show! It's so great to see you!  :-)

gamesurf shakes my hand firmly, and then attempts to compose himself.

You made it up, man! Now, folks, I can't begin to tell you how happy I am that gamesurf was the first one to make it up. After all, he played a huge part in allowing this show to be renewed in the first place! Give it up for him!

The audience applauds and cheers.

And I bet you didn't notice, but I got called down to his first show as well!  :-)

overdramatically ...But, alas, I got called down last. So I was all but forced to take the consolation prize... of some denture adhesive. Which I'm not going to be able to use for half a century! Oh, woe is me!   :P

But, don't worry, everyone. Because I finally got my revenge! Now gamesurf is the not so proud owner of a fur coat; an item that all LFaTs will judge him for if he actually wears it! Now he has a morally questionable prize, and... has the chance to win even more prizes.

An awkward silence lingers for a few seconds.

...I didn't think this through at all.  :-D

The audience laughs for a few seconds before I turn back to gamesurf.

But, in all seriousness, that coat is yours, and you can do whatever you want with it. You can give it to charity, an animal rights organization, or even burn it like Drew Carey's former LeBron James jersey when he took his talents to South Beach!  :-D

And I know the perfect prize that you can do that with! George, tell him about it!

Devin Goda proceeds to push out...

George: It's an electric range!

From Premier, this 30" Freestanding Electric Range comes with a 3.91 Cubic Foot Oven, Coil Burners, Full Width Storage Drawer and Exclusive Lifetime Warranty to make sure anything from food to fur is heated up easily!

The audience applauds.

That's a nice range, isn't it, gamesurf? He nods. But, that's not all we have to offer you; no, not in the slightest! You see, this is a throwback to 1972. And as you said, the first game ever played was Any Number. And the very first playing of that pricing game was for a Chevrolet Vega; in other words, a car!

The audience applauds louder!

But... I'm sorry to say...

Chevy doesn't make the Vega any more. But that's OK! It wasn't a very good car anyways. Can you believe this amazing game show started off with a fur coat and a car like that? It may as well be a miracle it got off the ground, y'know?  :-D

However, I digress. Chevy doesn't make the Vega any more. And the Vega's successor: the Monza, is also defunct. Same with the Cavalier. And even the Cobalt!

...But guess what? I'm going to give you the chance to play the role of a crazy cat lady in Beverley Hills as you ride off from the show with this!

The big doors open to reveal Amber in...

George: It's a new car!

It's the 2019 Red Hot Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback! This compact beauty comes complete with a 1.4 liter Turbo ECOTEC 4-cylinder engine that creates 153 horsepower, 6-speed automatic transmission, 17" 5-split spoke, Ultra Bright, machined face, Midnight Silver aluminum wheels, engine block heater, front license plate bracket, and a roadside emergency reflective triangle! Enjoy how far we've come with car designs with the Chevrolet... Cruze!

The audience applauds wildly as the turntable moves around to show the set. But not just the regular one... it's the old set, straight from 1972!

Man, oh, man, look at this beauty! Just seeing it makes me feel all tingly and nostalgic inside! Now, gamesurf, as you guessed; and correctly, might I add, you're going to be playing the first ever pricing game on the Price is Right: Anyyyyyy Number!

This is tied for my favorite pricing game ever, so I truly hope you win that car! Anyway, let's light up the first digit in that car!

CRUZE  2 _ _ _ _

RANGE _ _ _

P. BANK _. _ _

It's a 2! So you're playing for at least a $20,000 car, my friend!

Now, as you can see, there are ten spaces yet to be occupied, and there are ten digits in the typical numerical system. As such, each digit corresponds to an empty space on this board. So, I'd like for you to give me a digit from 0-9, and when you do, that digit will be lit up on the board. Whichever prize you fill out first will be the prize that you win.

So, with that said, give me any number you'd like, and let's start the game! Best of luck!  :-)

The way this HYO is going, I better not get stuck with Double Prices. :P

Huh...well, I thought a 4 also. There are a lot of accessories on that car, and since "Red Hot" was specifically mentioned, that probably cost extra. Try for a 3. I don't think it's $25K.

I don’t think the Cruze is that low... but with a “roadside reflective emergency triangle” I’m betting it doesn’t end in 5, and I don’t think the range ends with 2...

So 2 seems like the safest choice since I’m unsure.

What the heck, 2.

CRUZE  2 2 _ 4 _

It does! gamesurf, you're doing great! Only two more digits in that car to go, and it'll be yours! Give me one of those two and you'll be going out of here in style!  :-)

I’m gonna hold off on 5, 9, and 0 for now—they all look like prime candidates for the last digit in the oven.

Hey, 6 isn’t any of those numbers. Let’s do 6!

gamesurf wants a 6. Let's give him a 6!

CRUZE  2 2 _ 4 _

RANGE 3 _ _

P. BANK _. _ 6

Piggy bank. That's OK, that's OK; plenty of game left to be played. You're still safe from the range and piggy bank, so I hope you'll stay safe with another digit!  :-)

I don’t think it’s a $31x or a $3x1 range

And it would be really mean to offer a $1.x6 piggy bank

So if that’s true, the only think that could hurt is a $x.16 piggy bank

Let’s go 1!

And it would be really mean to offer a $1.x6 piggy bank.

Oops.  :P

Even still, I'm sorry; you just guessed two consecutive digits in the piggy bank. You need to be careful and avoid that bank for the rest of the game, or else you aren't walking away with a lot of pocket change. Another digit, if you please.

Audience, any help? That middle digit has got to be high, could it be an 8 or 9?

**yells 0 from back of crowd**

I'd avoid the 9 because I feel big appliances like that usually end in 9s, and it would be REALLY mean to put the 0 not at the end of a price and in the middle of the piggy bank

Dang...at this point I'd leave it up to random.org but what help is that?

Hmm. I find it hard to believe that the last digit in the car is a 9. So try an 8 and hope for the best!

OK, you're still in this game. It's not looking great, but you have a chance, and that's all you need. There are 4 digits left: 0, 5, 7, and 9. Two of them are in the car. Pick one of those two. You can do this.  :-)

It's either a $380 range or a $389 range

I don't think it's a $385 range, that's a funny number

The 0 looks out of place in the middle of the car, and I don't think the car ends in 0 cause, well, “roadside reflective emergency triangle”. So 0 is right out.

Here goes nothing... let's go for both of them at a time.

Let's go 7 first.

If 7 is the last digit in the car, my next choice is a 5. I really hope the car is $22,547

If the 7 is the middle digit in the price of the car, then my next choice is 9. Cause $22,749 is more plausible to me than $22,745

If the 7 is not in the car, then game over and I'll enjoy my range or $1 and change

Is it in the car?!

...

CRUZE  2 2 7 4 _

No! Oh man, I'm so sorry. You came so close... but at least you walk out with a nice range! Let's light up the 0 and the 5 to show you which one was in the car.

CRUZE  2 2 7 4 5

The audience groans.

It was the 5... I'm sorry. But you've been such a great contestant, and since this is a half-hour show, you won't need to spin the wheel to potentially end up in our showcase! Thank you for playing.  :-)

I shake gamesurf's hand, and he heads out.

Well, that was a bit deflating. But I'm not giving up just yet! George, who's next up on Contestant's Row?

George: It's gonna be 123123123! Come on down! You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!

Numbers! Good to see you again! Come right over here on the green podium, and look over there for the next item up for bids!

George: It's a sewing machine!

James sits down on a table and pretends to sew a piece of cloth.

From Janome, this Sewist 780DC Computerized Sewing Machine features an auto one step buttonhole with 3 styles, 80 built-in stitches, a horizontal full rotary hook, and an LCD display! It'll put you in stitches! ...OK, who wrote this?

I shrug and 'innocently' whistle.

While George tries to figure that out, that sewing machine will go to the one of you four who bids nearest to the actual retail price without going over! Numbers: you're up first!  :-)

Coming in super late here, but son of a...

You literally offered my car in Any Number! :P

Well, sort of... Mine’s a 2017 and not a hatchback (they also made a slight alteration to the front end during the mid-2019 cycle).  But it’s red and mostly the same body style!

It’s funny you mentioned the lineage of the Vega-Manza-Cavalier-Cobalt-Cruze, Shock, as the latter has actually just been discontinued here in North America (a darn shame, too...it’s a great car!).  The last Cruze rolled off the assembly line back in March, I believe.  It seems crossovers and SUVs are taking over the market.

Also, random sidenote, but the Cavalier was actually reintroduced in China a few years back.

Anyway, just wanted to chime in.  Also, CU, yes.  Very much yes. :oldlol:

I’ll await my turn to bid now.

to PayingTheRent Hey, I mean, we could have just found where you live, taken your ride, and updated it, Xzibit 'Pimp My Ride' style. Feel free to double check after the show and if you have proof, we'll give it to you free of charge.  :-D

The audience laughs, and I suddenly notice a sign in the audience.

PETA: People Eati-

I cover my mouth and try to control my laughter.

Oh... oh, man. That's a good one! Can't believe I didn't notice that earlier, but man... that's great. That's just great.  :-D

I take a deep breath to recover.

In any case, all of the bids and tpir04's written bid are done, so let's lock them all in.  :-)

JayC      PayingTheRent      tpir04      123123123
$720                $850                    $851               $555

...Boy, oh, boy; PayingTheRent, you've had it rough in Contestant's Row. You've been one-upped twice, and the first time, the one who one-upped you got on stage! Do we offer financial compensation for Smeghead gambits like this? ...No? That's a shame.  :P

And you know what the crazy part of all of this is?

I take the pricing card out of the folder.

...It worked. The sewing machine is $1,247! tpir04, time to play the next pricing game!  :-)

The bell dings as tpir04 makes his way on stage and runs up to the next flight of carpeted, relatively flat stairs before jumping up next to me!

Welcome to the show! Someone's excited!

I extend my hand, only for tpir04 to shake it while jumping up and down, causing me to lightly chuckle.

Y'know, I think that seems like the behavior of someone who signed up for this show thrice. Call me crazy.  :-D

But in any case, let's see what's behind the turntable... ooooh, it looks like a set piece! I can almost see it! It's...

It's the Bonus Game! Not only is this a classic, but it's very winnable as well! You're a lucky man, for certain.  :-D

So, here are the rules. You see this gorgeous, classic set piece? There are four asterisks, and behind each asterisk, there is an item with a corresponding price below it. That price is wrong, so I'm going to ask you if the correct price of that prize is higher or lower than the price that goes along with it. Guess correctly, and you'll win that prize and that panel.

And guess what? Under one of the four panels is a bonus. Y'know, like the bonuses some executives get for corrupt business tactics. But I'm sure that's not relevant... nah, I kid, I kid.  :-D

In any case, George: show tpir04 what that bonus is!

The big doors open to reveal...

George: It's a new laundry room!

Manuela walks up to the back to back washer and dryer before George continues...

First, from Speed Queen, this 27" Commercial Front Loaded Washer comes complete with a 4-compartment dispenser, Quantum touch screen controls, 1,200 RPM, 4 cycles, balancing technology, high capacity meter case, stainless steel tub, and 3.42 cubic feet of capacity!

And, to match it; also from Speed Queen, it's a dryer! This 27" Commercial Gas Dryer features 7 cubic feet of capacity, reversible door, upfront lint filter, 5 temperature selections, durable galvanized steel cylinder and high efficiency exhaust blower!

Manuela then places her hand above her head to slightly pan up to...

And to complete your new indoor laundromat: it's a new TV!

From Sony, this 77" OLED A9G Master Class 2160p 4K UHD TV with HDR features Pixel Contrast Booster Technology, Acoustic Surface Audio+, Android with Google Assist built-in, an ultra-thin design, and hidden speakers! It's a bonus worth $10,991!

The audience applauds!

Wow, that's a nice bonus! You won't have to go to a laundromat ever again! ...Maybe.  :P

In any case, let's reveal the first prize...

*      TYPEWRITER
            $115
*

*

*

A... typewriter? OK, I guess. George, tell us about the typewriter.  :-)

Devin pushes a podium with...

This 14 pound Royal Scriptor II 13 Portable Electronic Typewriter features an LCD display, spell check system and memory storage capacity, impression control, and relocation features!

I didn't even know they still made typewriters! Guess there's still an audience for 'em.  :P

So, tpir04, the typewriter is not $115. So, my question for you is: is the correct price higher or lower?

That's not what the coin slot is for. It's because this is a tribute to 1972. I thought that was obvious. It's not like I'm a college student who brings a lot of laundry when I head back home; no sir!  :P

George: From Conair, this 1.5" 2-in-1 Curling Hot Air Brush features dual voltage, 1" natural nylon bristles, an aluminum barrel, and 3-position switch!

Oh. That's what a 'curler' is. Fair enough.  :-D So, for the final time: the incorrect price is $30. Is it actually higher or lower?

Let's go for three! Is it higher?

Another loud buzz sounds out across the studio, followed by the audience groaning.

...Uh oh. So now you only have a 50/50 shot of getting the bonus. But hey, it could still be under the linens or the encyclopedia! Let's find out right... now!

...I said now.  :P

The audience groans.

Awwwwww man! It was all the way back up at the typewriter! tpir04... I'm so sorry. But you do get the sewing machine, linens, and encyclopedia set, so that's not too bad! And you may end up in the showcase later on! Thank you so much for playing and for being a great contestant.  :-)

I shake tpir04's hand, and we go our separate ways for now.

We are 0 for 2, but there's still time to turn it all around! Stay tuned for more, everyone!

Once again, we cut to HeadOn. Apply directly to the forehead. Apply dir-

Unfortunately... we are 0 for 2 at this point. But the show must go on, and there's an empty space in the yellow and/or orange podium. Can you fill that up for me?

George: I sure can, Shock! Hag; no, I mean, the actual user associating with that name... come on down! You're the next contestant on The Price is Right!

Eyyyyy, it's my old brony friend! Good times, good times. Great to see you once again! I can only give you one chance to bid this time, so I hope you'll be able to make good use of it! Now then, what's the next item up for bids?

The turntable revolves to reveal Amber modeling...

George: It's a new dishwasher!

This Stainless Steel GE Profile 24" Dishwasher comes with a hard food disposer, only 42 decibels of sound, 140 water jets, easy-touch, adjustable upper rack with 2 stem safe shelves, 7 wash cycles, and a hidden electronic control panel with an LCD display!

...Only 42 decibels? That's still loud. You'd think they'd be able to get better at sound reduction at this point. Ah well, this is a 1972 tribute, so whatever.  :P

Hag, you're up first for the... moderately soft dishwasher!  :-D

Shock!
Shhhhh! Are you trying to get me in trouble for that first item for bids?!

Anyway, it's $1,253! Numbers, come on up! You win!  :-)

The bell dings repeatedly as Numbers runs across the stage and gives me a big, excited handshake!

Good to see you! Man... this is like old times. All of this nostalgia's running through my veins! I hope I can give you something great like I did back all those years ago! George, show us what that 'something great' is!  :-)

George: It's a new freezer and ice maker!

First, from Whirlpool, this Monochromatic Stainless Steel 18 cubic foot Sidekicks All-Freezer comes with a fast freeze option, electronic temperature controls, frost-free defrosting, and LED interior lighting! And, to keep your freezer properly stored with ice, we have this chilly ice maker!

The Head-On commercial finally ends, causing the camera to zoom in on Hag, PayingTheRent, and JayC respectively.

George: Contestants not appearing on stage will receive...

A container of Aquarius Perfume! From Max Factor, this perfume will help any woman or even man smell her or his best for any occasion! And now, back to DarkShockBro!

The camera then cuts to gamesurf behind the first, leftmost classic showcase podium, and Numbers behind the other one. Both look excited, and I look at the camera with a big, excited grin.

We're finally back with the illustrious, beautiful, most epic part of this amazing game show: the Showcases!

The audience applauds wildly.

That's what I'm talking about! But... before we get to the showcases, I have a special announcement to make!

I turn to Hag, PayingTheRent, and JayC in Contestants' Row.

While you three unfortunately couldn't make it on stage to play a pricing game, that doesn't mean you'll be walking away with just the perfume! Because after the Showcases, you three will be able to participate in an Audience Participation Game for a chance to win a few more small prizes!

Hag, PayingTheRent, and JayC start applauding!

There we go! I'll explain more after the Showcases are over, but I will say this: I hope you've been paying attention to what's been going on in the show, because your knowledge could net you a few extra prizes! Think of this as an alternate version of a Quickie Deal from CBS' other hit game show.  ;-)

I turn back to gamesurf and Numbers.

But for now, we've gotta get to the Showcases! And I couldn't be more excited for this matchup! It's a grizzled numerical veteran of HYO going up against a up and coming rookie who helped get our shows back on the air, and only one can walk out of here with a showcase full of incredible prizes!  :-D

The bell dings, as if a wrestling match was about to begin, and I start to laugh.

...Oh man, this show is the best.  :-D

After calming down, I clear my throat.

In any case... Numbers, since you have seniority and also won the most between the two of you, you get to pick whether or not you want to keep this first showcase or pass it to gamesurf. If you pass, you get the second showcase. With all of that said; George, it's time for the first showcase to begin!  :-)

George: This showcase starts by following the day of a regular American worker!

...Oh. That's not good. So, uh, anyway, this worker goes to his or her job, works long hours for a meager wage, and tries to save up whatever money they get from working. Because after such a long period of grueling labor, this worker will be able to have the funds to take a relieving vacation... to beautiful Acapulco!

Manuela models that Acapulco sign with sunglasses and a tropical outfit on.

You and a guest will fly round-trip premium economy from Los Angeles to Acapulco on Aeromexico Airlines! On-board food and drinks are always free on Mexico's global airline!

(https://content.r9cdn.net/rimg/himg/76/0b/cb/sembo-130691-0f5f5052_z.jpg_resizeMode=FitInside_formatSettings=jpeg(quality-90)-161965.jpg?crop=true&width=500&height=350)

And once there, you'll spend a full week at the beautiful Hotel El Presidente! You'll stay in a Bay View Suite with one king bed, a minibar, and a balcony with two chairs and a view of Mexico's gorgeous sea that will inspire even the most exhausted person to get out of bed and take a long walk on the beach!

But as we follow this particular worker, we notice that they don't just want to spend all of that week on the beach. After all, some of Mexico's churches are awe-inspiring!

And while this worker spends some vacation time checking out the gorgeous architecture, they also notice some powerful music being played... on this new electronic organ!

This Limited Edition Hammond Porta-B Organ features two dual manual sets of 61 keys, three 50-watt RMS speakers, 12 bank programs and 9 presets for both keyboards, 7 effects, 3 sets of drawbars, and touch-response percussion! It's powerful, just like a Hammond should be!

And, of course, who could travel Mexico without enjoying all of its delicious Mexican food? And this worker will be able to enjoy all of Mexico's scrumptious cuisine at home with this spectacular overhead range!

From the Heartland Classic Collection, this romantic and powerful Black 48" Dual Fuel Range features 6 sealed gas burners, a 4 cubic foot self-cleaning electric convection oven with 4 levels and 3 oven racks, a 3,000 watt broiler, temperature and humidity controlled warming drawer, concealed electric controls, and a 350 CFM exhaust system in the overhead storage cabinet!

And finally, before the worker makes their way to the plane back to America, they can't help but notice how shiny and visually attractive the floors in Mexican buildings are. So they plan to replicate those floors with a set of Mexican-inspired floor tiles!

From Houzz, this set of 210 Verde Maritaka Granite Floor Tiles are 12" by 12" and come with a polished finish to replicate the feeling of being in a fine Mexican building!

And this showcase, where we remind everyone to take a break and destress once in a while, and where we hope you'll be just as inspired as this worker as a result of it, can be yours... if The Price is Right!

The audience applauds, and I smile.

That's a good message, George. A very good message.  :-) And a great showcase, to boot! So, Numbers, my old friend... do you want to bid on this showcase? Or do you want to pass it to gamesurf and wait for the next one?  :-)

The audience roars with applause, and I give Numbers a high-five!

That's what I'm talking about! Y'know, it's statements like this and shows like this that renew my patriotism a little bit more.  :-) God bless America!  :-D

Anyway, you heard my fellow American! Lock it in!

 TRIP
21231

Best of luck. :-) So, gamesurf, since Numbers took the first showcase, the second one is yours. Here it is. Take it away, George!  :-)

George: This showcase is all about the wheel!

Back in the dawn of humanity, the stone wheel is commonly regarded as one of if not the most influential and ingenious accomplishments of the caveman. And the wheel certainly has evolved a lot from a stone doughnut-shaped disk!

For example, nowadays, some wheels are a lot smaller than the ones invented centuries ago. And those particular wheels can be found in your new roller skates!

Devin models a pair of roller skates on a podium.

(https://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/n-d57o0b/dmke2u/products/1610/images/6157/Riedell_297_Classic_Bones_Elite_Skates_1__07527.1403110968.1280.1280__38635.1484772571.500.659.jpg?c=2)

From Riedell, this pair of black men's 297 Advance Elite roller skates are made of full grain leather and come with Snyder Advantage aluminum skate plates set at a 15 degree angle, Bones Elite Wheels, Bones Swiss Bearings, and Snyder toe stops! Riedell: proudly made in the USA!

However, wheels aren't always meant to cover ground. Much like running in place on a treadmill, they can be used for a great workout. And you can get that workout with a stationary wheel on your new exercise cycle!

A shirtless James uses the exercise cycle with ease!

From Schwinn, the originators of the indoor exercise bicycle comes their newest creation: the A.C Performance Plus Indoor Cycle! It comes with adjustable, high performance handlebars, an adjustable seat, covered stretch pads, an aluminum frame, Virtual Contact Magnetic brake system, and the Schwinn Fit System!

And finally, we all know what the most common and most exciting use for wheels are in modern times: tires! Tires that come in quartets that can be found... on your newwwww car!

This Deep Crystal Blue Mica colored Mazda 3 Sedan comes with a 2.5 liter, 186 horsepower SkyActiv engine and 6-speed SkyActiv automatic transmission with sport mode!

And this showcase, where we celebrate the inventive nature of humanity via the evolution of the wheel, can be yours... if The Price isssss Right!

The audience applauds!

How about that, gamesurf? You have another chance to win a car! Give me your bid, and I hope you'll make it count!  :-)

We're back! Now it's finally time to reveal the prices of these two fantastic showcases! Let's see...

I pace back and forth a bit before I stop in front of...

Numbers, I'm going to start with you. Your showcase had a trip to Acapulco, an organ, a huge range, and a bunch of granite floor tiles. You bid $21,231. And the actual retail price of this showcase is...

I pull out the TRIP card to reveal...

  CAR         TRIP
                 23071
22791      21231

$23,071! That's a good bid, and it's only a difference of...

  CAR         TRIP
                 23071
22791      1840

$1,840! Looking pretty good, I'd say. But, we haven't revealed game surf's bid yet! So, gamesurf... you had the roller skates, the exercise bicycle, and a Mazda 3 sedan. You bid $22,791. And the actual retail price is...

  CAR         TRIP
25044     23071
22791      1840

$25,044... I don't think this is gonna do it, I'm afraid.

  CAR      TRIP
25044   23071
2253      1840

Aww man, $2,253... you were so close to a car yet again! Only about $400 off... I'm sorry.

...But that means that Numbers wins again! Great job, my man! Go see your prizes!

Numbers jumps up and down and excitedly runs over to his prizes!

What a day for Numbers! He cleaned up and won $27,517 over the day! Not a bad haul at all!

I then turn to Hag, PayingTheRent, and JayC.

...But we aren't done just yet! It's time for the Audience Participation Game!

Rachel, come on out!

Rachel walks up with a podium... containing the typewriter and hot air brush not won in Bonus Game!

That's right! One of you three will win this typewriter and hot air brush; prizes with a total of $178... if you are the first one answer this question about the show correctly!

And here it is: I told you that this is a modernized version of a 1972 Price is Right show. However, what I didn't tell you is that it's a remake of one particular show in 1972.

So, for the chance to win the typewriter and hot air brush, I ask you this: which 1972 show did I just give a modernized remake to?  :-)

JayC...

you are correct!

The audience applauds in response, and JayC fist pumps!

Congratulations! You're taking home a nice typewriter and hot air brush in addition to the consolation perfume you already got!  :-)

And now, I'll end this episode saying that this has been DarkShockBro, reminding you to help control the pet population; have your pets sprayed or neutered! See you next time, everyone!  :-D

I fondly wave goodbye to the camera while the audience applauds, and then the camera cuts to Numbers, still celebrating with his prizes!

(That's that, everyone! My notes on this episode will be up shortly! :-) )

Notes:

-This playing perfectly encapsulates why I love Any Number so much. It went right down to the wire, and was, in my mind, the perfect difficulty for this game. I completely screwed up how I set up this pricing game the first time, so I'm glad that, at least in my mind, I made amends for that.

-That roadside triangle gamesurf was so concerned about. It was $15. It wasn't meant to trip anyone up; it was just the only way I could get the Cruze to be the price I wanted it to be.

-I wanted Bonus Game to be tough, but not impossible. It seems I succeeded based on how tpir04 played. I tried to imply the typewriter was somewhat expensive based on the pricing description, but I can't just give the prizes away.  :P

-Double Prices' fake price intentionally ended with '8' to potentially trip up whoever played it. Thankfully, Numbers wasn't fooled.

-One more thing: there was some rust on my hosting abilities, because I made a few mistakes. However, none of them were bad enough to warrant a technical win. For instance, I accidentally posted a picture of the SideKicks refrigerator instead of the freezer (you can tell by the door handle), and forgot to include that it was an LS Chevy Cruze.

-However, I don't believe this warrants a technical win, because that clearly wasn't what gamesurf got tripped up over. Even still, I acknowledge that I forgot to include the trim, and I will make sure to include said trims to cars that have them in the future.  :-)

And that's that! Feel free to talk amongst yourselves and give any feedback you'd like. I'm proud of the show I produced, and I hope to produce more in the near future!  :-)

*ahem* That's my typewriter.  :oldlol:

Fantastic show, Shock! Your hosting style is superb, and the back-and-forth with the washer/dryer was hilarious. Well done! *applause*
