I got my tickets today for 4/16 and 4/17 in the mail and they list as nighttime special tapings.
4/16 is the 1,000,000 spectacular
4/17 is A celebration of 50 years on TV for Bob Barker, a special show with 3 pricing games.
Both shows start taping at 2:30pm.

When I discussed this with John a while back, I remember he said that they wanted to have a "million-dollar wheel" on the 35th Anniversary Special. Is that still happening now that they're (apparently) using the half-hour format?

We do not have any additional information at this time...and even if we did, we certainly wouldn't discuss a show that has yet to be put on tape!

At the risk of asking a stupid question, I assume the 4/17 show is still an hour long despite the shortened game play?

It would be similar to the 25th anniversary special (August 23, 1996). They used three pricing games and the Showcase with the time otherwise filled with clips from the past.

I have an eticket for the 1:15pm April 16th taping. I got this last February 1st. Are there special instructions for this taping? When I got my ticket then, it did not say yet that it is the 1,000,000 spectacular.
I really hope to watch the show.

Interesting. Originally, CBS had a full taping week penned in, but it now appears they have cancelled all daytime tapings that week and are taping specials instead.
You, or anyone else with daytime tickets for those days, should call CBS Guest Relations (323/575-2248) right away to confirm if your ticket will be honored. As always, taping dates and circumstances are subject to change.
Also, check your E-mail. They may send you an advisory since you got your ticket the electronic way.

I have a feeling that the half-hour episode will not have a wheel...but a million-dollar spin will be awarded to the showcase winner.
Early prediction for that episodes lineup...Golden Road, Plinko, Hole in One. Why? I don't know.

I got e-tickets for April 16-18 in February and I later got an email that the 2nd taping on April 16 and April 18 taping were cancelled.
I had no idea the tapings for April 16 and 17 were going to be specials. Hopefully the e-tickets will be acceptable. Thanks for the info re calling CBS.
I can only imagine what the lines will be like that weekend...

I called the CBS ticket office. Good news, e-tickets for April 16 @ 1:15 pm and April 17 @ 2:30 pm are still valid.

Gemma and I will be meeting at CBS for the 4/16 taping. If anyone else is going to be there (especially anyone going solo) and wants to share line waiting duty, let us know! I'll be arriving in L.A. on Friday morning and will begin checking the line shortly thereafter.
