Was scrolling through Facebook and Antenna TV shared this link. (https://www.closerweekly.com/posts/bob-barker-skypes-in-for-95th-birthday-celebration-on-the-price-is-right/?fbclid=IwAR1Xxcm4mB8qh_9j1v-knaJ_CKT0pyRzfeOYu07uGkV8xqrcVHou5q4TcoU) It's airing, of course, December 12th. I'm glad he's able to join the celebration some how for his 95th birthday, can't wait to see it!

Thay's neat! I'm finally attending a set of tapings next week- one of which is on Bob's actual birthday! I think it would be neat to finally get to come on down on the same day Bob turns 95!

Very nice to see that he'll make an appearance and they're acknowledging his birthday even if not physically there. Was the episode taped before or after his recent hospital visits?

According to the calendar on priceisright.com, the episode was taped on October 2nd. I'm too lazy to reference where that slots in regarding to what happened to Bob, but I'm sure somebody will know.

I found October 22 as the date he went in before his most recent hospitalization, so it was before.

I'm sure many here think it's unlikely (IINM), but I certainly hope (w/less than a week to go now) that Bob does not pass on in this last week before his 95th. I mean, TPIR has gone to all this hoopla for Bob (a 95th birthday cake, Bob on Skype, etc.), that to have him pass on with one week to go would be such a waste.
After all, upon the great Beverly Cleary's 100th birthday, all manner of hoopla was used to mark that milestone, and she didn't pass on (she's 102 now).

I wouldn't call it a waste, more of a "last hurrah". Just have Drew pre-record something to the effect of "we taped this back in October, consider this our tribute to him, we'll miss him" etc. and they'd be covered (something like Bob did when Johnny passed, basically).

That's a great point! They'd cover their bases with no problem at all if such a thing were to happen.

Does anyone reading remember when Bob, the models, and the audience gave an on-air greeting to Bob Hope on the occasion of his 95th birthday? :) If I recall correctly, Bob made a joke saying he WAS the dark-haired fellow who was thrilled to have Mr. Hope as a guest on Truth or Consequences. That was 20 or so years ago. Wow.

Do you think that this 95th birthday celebration for Bob will have Grand Game to where you start at $9.50, then get to $95, then $950, then $9,500, and for the last all-or-nothing step, $95,000?

If they were gonna offer a near six-figure sum there’s better ways to do it than Grand Game anyways
Idea #1: Replace every non-dollar space on the Big Wheel with 95, lock players into spinoffs indefinitely until somebody finally hits the dollar

Of course there could always be the ever popular hole in one or 95... If they miss the first putt, they have to start over at the young and the restless. But seriously it will be great to see Bob. I got to shake his hand 20 years ago and will always consider that to be one of the greatest moments of my life.

Great point-- I think I'll just be glad that Bob's 95th is being celebrated in the first place, and if there is anything special, enjoy it while it's there.

I've been wondering about that myself. All I've seen for that story is one internet "source" I've never heard of that just took PR photos from the CBS press website, and CBS has said nothing about him appearing by Skype. Looks like it may just be a photo on the screen, or a prerecorded video at best. As you say, we shall see.

I figured if there were any camera bits, it would be pre-recorded.

I'm sure a) someone could set it up for him, b) with camera technology, someone from a local CBS affiliate could just part with a cameraman for 20 minutes. This isn't the days where they had a cameraman following Harry Truman while riding on the back of a handtruck with a large camera.
As for the topic at hand, wash or not, I prefer the fact they are celebrating Bob's 95th birthday, it shows how much they care about him still.

I'm kind of surprised no one has asked Roger on his Facebook page for any confirmation that I've seen. There always seem to be people asking him questions left and right.

I’m less excited now that I realize that’s just a photo or screenshot of Bob behind Rachel, taken from the last few moments of the closing credits when Bob appeared on the show for his 90th birthday. I knew that looked familiar. I just wasn’t able to place it until now. Well, like others have said, at least the show is acknowledging Bob’s birthday in some way!

Well, sorry for the misinformation, I thought if Antenna TV shared it it might be true, but oh well. I am still glad the show took the time to celebrate this milestone of a birthday for Bob. :)
