4 for 6 on pricing games, including two car wins, and a :dsw: with another car win. I call that a pretty good day.

Dice Game - Nice Win.
Bargain Game - Great choice win.
Half Off - Tough Luck.
Side by Side - Too easy.
Race Game - POORLY played in my book.
Ten Chances - Very nicely played and won.
4/6 plus a  :dsw: to boot now that was an awesome show right there

Dice: First car win of S42! The same car was won on this PG's first win of last season (but $200's added).

Bargain: Easy.

1/2 Off: At least it wasn't #11 (& Dawn didn't choose that).

SBS: Thank goodness Anna listened to the audience.

Race: Kimberly started out well but then the nerves got to her.

10C: EXCELLENT playing!

Showcases: A pity neither car game winner made it today, but at least one other PG winner, Anna, became a DSW!!!!!!!!

It's really too bad they couldn't make this the SP instead of what aired Mon., IMHO.

I guess the 3rd time was the charm..............

THE BAD NEWS:

1/2 Off: Too bad Dawn didn't pick box #2 (which was my second guess from the chat).

THE NOT-SO-BAD NEWS:

Race Game: At least Kimberly is leaving here with a foosball table............Too bad her nervousness got the best of her. I did find her awkwardness on the big wheel humorous when she asked if she went over on the 2nd spin.

THE GOOD NEWS:

Dice Game: Almost perfect win John! Great way to start today!

10 Chances: Good thing she knew the zero rule, which led to her win!

Bargain Game: I had a feeling the bags were the bigger bargain.

Side-by-Side: Easy set-up and win by Anna.......Good thing she listened to the 'nuts! And she's our first  :dsw:!!!!!!

BOTTOM LINE: I'm surprised that with these wins and that kind of excitement, why wasn't this the season premiere? While this was (so far) the best show of the week, I'm flabbergasted as to why something like this should've been from Monday, since Mike hardly put any kind of effort with the premiere.........Unless you count him bragging about his Emmy win.

Nevertheless, the lineup was great. So were the wins (All 3 cars were won, too!  :-D) That's the kind of thing we want from Premiere Week, and I hope it'll be like that for the rest of the week.

You know, it's rare for the audience to be so unanimous for even a simple pricing game, much less a relatively complex one like Ten Chances, but dang if it did not seem like the entire audience will filled to the brim with loyal friends and true during that playing!

The perfectly-synced-up sounds are still a little jarring after all this time of a slight delay, but it seems appropriate. I wonder how they managed to incorporate it with all the old technology, like Dice Game's ancient Sportstype displays. I noticed with the final reveal in Dice Game today - there was one extra-loud DING! as the number reveal bell and win bells overlapped.

It's also been making for some odd instances in which the win bells seem to go on forever before being cut off. They played a good 2-3 seconds of them for the donut maker in 10 Chances, which would have gotten just a few dings before. It's just a donut maker, people. We're also hearing the "Over" buzzer in strange places as well, as we saw with 1/2 Off today and One Away yesterday.

Loved the new reveal of 1/2 Off. Well done, Adam.

Wow, that Race Game player was not the brightest crayon in the box. You could tell even Drew was annoyed with her. Not only did she do an abysmal job of playing the game, but then after she spins a dollar on her second spin, stands there facing away from the wheel with a deer-in-the-headlights stare and says "Uhhh... Did I go over?!" Yes, sweetie. You did. Way to pick 'em, guys.  8-O

Drew hosted the heck out of this show today. It almost felt like Barker was back at the helm. "We're gonna be back to spin the wheel a second time right after this, so come on back, folks!" Bob, is that you?

And good on you, Anna, for bidding appropriately after that nasty $1500 cash addition in Showcase #2. They weren't expecting a DSW on that one. Couldn't have happened to a sweeter lady, too.

Loved the new reveal of 1/2 Off. Well done, Adam.

What was different about the reveal? I know I noticed something that looked different, but can't say for sure what it was.

And is it just me, or was the Ten Chances set set at a slightly different angle than usual, like maybe more towards the audience?

I also find it a little weird that it was set like that.......But I'm not sure if they did that more than once.

Such a refreshment to see a solid Ten Chances playing.  The contestant was so exciting to watch!

Very good show, and easily the best of the season so far.  Wouldn't be surprised if it was better than the rest of the shows this week.

What was different about the reveal? I know I noticed something that looked different, but can't say for sure what it was.

After the initial $10,000 sign reveal and contestant reaction, they cut to a wide shot of Door #2 with Drew and the contestant and zoomed in to the game as the sign split apart. Before, they kept a tight shot of the sign as it split apart. The new way is more imaginative.

And is it just me, or was the Ten Chances set set at a slightly different angle than usual, like maybe more towards the audience?

The game already faces straight forward to the audience. It can't be any more "towards the audience".

The shot was at a different angle than usual, more from the side, and included the whole prop. I thought it was pretty sweet.

This was a very good show. As CJB pointed out, Drew was very, shall we say Barkerish, in his hosting today. Not only that, but, the way the show flowed from segment to segment and the way the games were set-up felt very much like the Barker years.

It was nice to see a good Dice Game win right off the bat after it being absent from the last couple of months of season 41. The Bargain Game was set-up very well with the handbags being the obvious choice there. 1/2 Off was played well enough and unfortunately it just didn't pan out, as sometimes happens, however, that new reveal of the $10,000 logo splitting apart was nice. Side By Side seems to have taken Double Prices' spot as the go-to one-prize quickie game, however, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Race Game was a bit of a mis-step, as Drew pointed out, she ended up changing things back to a pattern she knew only had one right and as CJB observed, she seemed a little oblivious during the Showcase Showdown asking if she lost after spinning the dollar on her second spin. 10 Chances was played about as well as you could hope for, really, in that she all but guaranteed herself a victory by securing enough chances to play for the car. The only price that made sense was going to start with 1-8 or a 1-9 and 0 obviously had to be last, so, it was just a simple process of elimination to ensure a tidy win there.

Top it all of with a solid Double Showcase Winner and this is the first truly great episode of season 42. Let's have some more!

Dice Game:  Great win!
Bargain Game, Side By Side:  Nice wins! :-)
1/2 Off:  Bummer! :-(
Race Game:  Not very good playing, IMO, but at least Kimberly didn't get the goose egg.
10 Chances:  Very well played!  I wish it was played this well everytime it's played.
Showcase:  Wow, a :dsw: already!  Awesome!

Great show, IMHO!

Well, this was certainly a fun show. Great game lineup, good contestants, good results. Even a good audience that actually knew the 0 rule in 10 Chances - made up for many previous nightmares in that situation. Drew was a bit off to me today though. His Dice and Bargain reveals were completely flat, as was his first commercial toss - just no enthusiasm whatsoever and completely flying through things with no buildup. Things improved a little in midshow, but then his DSW reveal was flat enough there was brief confusion over who won. The "little pauses" just were not there today. For all I know this was 10 Chances related editing though. As fun as it is, that game should probably not be played last, because we seemed to be flying to get there today. Still, this couldn't get me down too much.

The DSW was especially funny because $1,500 cash was included in the showcase probably specifically to get it out of "normal DSW" range, as it would have been 22210 without it, and able to be DSWed by a normal 22k bid. Too bad for them the contestant added $500 herself!

Oh, what an episode for me to miss today! This was great! The first great episode of the season. So nice to see it come so soon.

Drew hosted well, but was just there to me today. He didn't stand out as much as he usually does, but his Race Game and Ten Chances were great.

Speaking of Race Game, boy was that maligned. They handed her the win. The prices were to be placed in the same order she was given them, from least to greatest. That was definitely one of the easier Race Games if you thought about it. The fact that she literally stopped in the middle of the game and then repeated her first guess (when she only guessed two other times), really shows that her mind was flustered.

Speaking of Ten Chances, that was a great segment. To hear pretty much the ENTIRE audience shout out each number to her and for their guesses to be correct and not errant like they usually are (especially in this game), was the highlight of the show.

Anna was such a nice and sincere contestant. It was wonderful to see here not only win here pricing game, but to win both showcases. An excellent end to an excellent show that could've easily gone 6/6 and definitely should've gone 5/6. This was the note to start the season out on and it's a shame these events didn't transpire on Monday.

This was a very good show. As CJB pointed out, Drew was very, shall we say Barkerish, in his hosting today. Not only that, but, the way the show flowed from segment to segment and the way the games were set-up felt very much like the Barker years.

I'll at least agree with Drew seeming more like Bob today with his throws to George to announce the name of the next contestant. Drew actually mixed his comments up during today's show, a far cry from he would say something like "Where's the next contestant?" over and over to Rich when it seemed to me that Rich was really hoping to say something besides "On their way Drew."

10 Chances! Yay! One of my favorite games. Getting the price of the game system correct so early definitely helped out the contestant, considering the choice of digits for the SUV. I must say that the gameplay seemed highly edited and choppy, including the camera work, which lessened my enjoyment.

I wish Drew would say something like "You win BOTH showcases!" like Bob did, or something similar, instead of today's "Anna won a double showcase." "Double showcase." Bob's phrasing and emphasis made such occasions feel more exciting, and it was just more accurate.

It's a shame that a DSW got bogged down by a confused contestant. What in the world happen there? And yes, I agree that "BOTH showcases" is streets ahead of "double showcase". Yikes.

Despite no turntable or grocery games, I thought this lineup worked well today.  Having car games first and last is a tough thing to pull off without the middle feeling sluggish, but both 1/2 Off and Race Game provided that length that is needed in a lineup like this.

I hope today doesn't turn Mike away from Dice again.  I know it is tough to set up for a loss, but to only get 10 playings last season is low.

The automatic sound effects seem off, and 10 Chances was edited to death.

Nice to see the random cash backfire and provide us with a DSW.

Kudos to the Ten Chances player! The puzzle was played properly. Start with the highest plausable guess that ends with zero and then use decending combinations until you win. Perfect.

Let me say that this show was one of the best I've seen in a while (well, it's one of the first shows I've seen in a while, with summer reruns).  The last two shows really weren't that great, but this show was like what we had towards the end of last season.  This episode felt like the good days.  Great wins, loyal friends and true, someone using the 0 rule in 10 Chances, great contestants, fair game set-ups, and Drew was on it today!  I hope we get more episodes like this one.  Two thumbs way up!

Dice Game, Dice Game being won, Ten Chances, Ten Chances being played awesomely by the entire studio, a double showcase win...WOW was this fantastic show!

I love Adam's new 1/2 Off reveal.  I do not love him shooting Ten Chances the way Bart shot it.

Okay, this show was flat out amazing.

First, we had Dice Game, won with three really lucky rolls and one lucky-enough roll. Always a good way to start the game.

Even Drew noticed the repeated arrangement on Race Game. She just cracked under pressure, I guess.

10 Chances was just beautiful. Not a single Zero Rule violation meant Trimona (with the help of the entire audience, who seemed to have all locked on to the Zero Rule, save for maybe a few unheard dissidents) could systematically work out the prices, especially that of the SUV. Probably the most beautifully-played 10C game I've seen in recent seasons.

And then a DSW to finish things off! Now that is a great episode.

Textbook playing of Ten Chances.

Many wins on the show on top of the first DSW of the season. Great episode all around.

Drew hosted well, but was just there to me today.

And yet he chose to hang a lampshade on the only two goofs of the whole show, the Race Game fiasco and the misunderstood DSW.  It just boggles the mind sometimes.  :-?

Wednesday's episode comes a lot closer to the TPiR that I used to enjoy watching.  I hope the rest of the season goes more in this direction and not in the direction of the lackluster premiere.
