The Weekly Pricing Game is set to begin! As has always been the case, anyone can play; just submit a bid when you see an item to bid on. However, once a person has bid a certain amount, no one else can bid less than $15 more than that amount. For more information on the Weekly Pricing Game and how it works, check out the rules (http://www.golden-road.net/index.php?topic=22568.0).
For the FPG portion: All entries are due via PM to me, before the start of the first pricing game, which will be at approximately 9:00 PM EST Wednesday. Remember, the player with the highest-scoring entry qualifies for the showcase round!
So let's get started! What is the first Item Up for Bids?
It's a new television console and 3D TV!
Leick Furniture presents their Westwood Cherry fifty-inch wide television console. The hand applied multi-step Brown Cherry finish adds warmth to your decor while the solid hardwood and wood veneer construction ensures years of enjoyment.
And, a new 47-inch 1080p 3D television from Sony. Quartz-cut design brings a new edge to TV with a hint of translucent color that emphasizes the hidden gem within. Everything you watch is presented with unprecedented detail and clarity from Sony’s exclusive X-Reality PRO picture engine.
And it goes to whoever bids closest without going over, and of course, the winner goes on to play the first pricing game!

$2,165.
TPIRighteous! Nice $15-up bid from Righteous gives him the prize and the chance to play a pricing game. What do we have to offer Righteous?
It's a trip to fabulous Hawaii!
You and a guest will fly round-trip coach from Los Angeles to the beautiful island of Kauai for a six-night stay in a two-bedroom garden suite at the Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort. Relax as you enjoy this great hotel, and you'll get a guided tour of one of the most magnificent canyons of the island.
Righteous, today you will be playing Flip Flop for that wonderful trip.
$6,981 is not the price of the trip. However, you can Flip the first two numbers like this:
To make the price $9,681; you can Flop the last two numbers like this:
To make the price $6,918, or you can Flip AND Flop...
And make it $9,618. But don't leave it as $6,981.
It's your choice, Righteous: You may Flip, Flop, or Flip-Flop!
-
Since I find myself flip-flopping, I guess I'll do exactly that. Flip-Flop!
-
Righteous has Flipped and Flopped to make the price $9,618. Now, let's push the imaginary button to find out if he's a winner!
dingdingdingdingdingdingdingding!!!!!
You win, Righteous! Great job. See you Sunday for our second Item Up for Bids!
***
As I only received one FPG entrant, the game will be cancelled. The two in the showcase will simply be the top two winners from the twelve weeks.
-
SWEET! I did not expect to win that.
-
So, after a crappy Super Bowl, it's time for the next Item Up for Bids!
It's a dumbbell set.
From Body Solid, a patent-pending Secure Dumbbell System combines one-piece cast iron heads with steel inserts that have been pinned, press-fitted, and welded. $919. Hopefully that didn't up somebody outside of the range, wasn't intending to. If not, let me know, Jordan, and I'll adjust appropriately.
You could just look at the past bids to see if anyone bid between $904 and $919, there aren't that many of them. :P
-
I'm probably not going to get around to starting the next PG tonight, so bidding is still open until I do start it (tomorrow).
-
$1402

So we're back on track, and the actual retail price is... $1349, and the winner is...
$1,189 please

I will go with a 7 please

Now Numbers, here is your last opportunity to change any number. What would you like to do?
-
I'm debating between the 3 and the 8. :-?
To make sure I don't regret it, I will keep the price as is.
-
Okay, Numbers, I have presented you with $5,843 worth of gifts. If you wish, you can walk away right now with all the gifts. Or, you can go for the car, but if you have even one number wrong, no car for you, and no gifts for you.
What do you say, Numbers?
-
The only prize somewhat appealing is the cash, so I think I am going to go for it.
