Drew really seemed to be trying his best to save Isaac's bacon on that horrible Showcase bid. He did everything but ask "Is that your final answer?" I would really love to know WTH Isaac was thinking with that bid.Maybe he was looking for even more attention?

Maybe he was looking for even more attention?
When was the last time we had a bid that low on a showcase (besides $1 or such for an “obvious” overbid)?
Based on his “0 2 0” comment, Drew and I both wouldn’t have won the car in Line ‘Em Up. :)

Only thing I can think of he really did believe the trips collectively were around the $5,000 mark. Then again, we do see fate smile on clear undervids. The best example was in Maxene Fabe’s book from 40 years ago, where a young woman, going in as the top winner, bid more than $10,000 less than her showcase, but then the runner up overbid in his showcase. Then again, I've seen underbids backfire. I think this is in the timeline, but there's an episode I've seen (April 20, 1982, 4492D) where on the first Showcase, the runner-up bid $10,200 (for bedroom furniture and a dune buggy), and the audience clearly groans and disapproves. In response, on her own showcase, the top winner bids $1. Come results time, and not only has the runner-up not overbid, but she's nailed a DSW with a $9 difference!
