I can tell that Bob wanted to do audience entrances right from the beginning but it really wasn't until 1989 (after he became executive producer) that he did it more regularly when games played first blocked Door #2.

Also by then the red dot in front of the wheel for the spinners to stand on is in place with regards to the 1981 episode, moving this up three weeks in the Timeline (and possibly even earlier than that day too).

I doubt the video exists, but I recall reading on the old alt.tv.game-shows forum once where there was a telethon-themed April Fool's showcase (from the mid-1970s).

IIRC, Bob did his usual "And here's your showcase" to the contestant, and Johnny Olson stunned the audience that, "Well, Bob, we've given away so much over the past (whatever number of years) that we have no more prizes left to give away."

And then several key sponsors were in the audience -- all of them played by the models, natch -- who "donated" prizes, such as Mr. Coffee and a coffee maker, leading all up to the president of General Motors and the keynote prize, a new car.

This recollection is based off a recollection from a fan at the old forum and it dates from the mid-1990s, so again, I've no idea when would have aired ... or -- and I add this as the disclaimer -- even if it actually took place.

Two more from the late 1980s come to mind:  In 1987, a contestant was presented with three bogus trips, then Bob tells him that it was an April Fool's prank.  The real showcase was two Ford Thunderbirds.

In 1988, the show put on a recurring showcase, "Wonderful Ways to Get Wet."  In this one, Janice and Dian dump buckets of confetti on each other, but when it comes time to dump buckets on Holly for the final prize, Holly gets drenched with real water.  Rod says, "April Fool's, Holly!"  Even though we don't have the full episode this came from, I'm going to assume this aired on April 1, 1988, since I can't think of another time such a showcase would be staged.

The recollection can be read here (https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!msg/alt.tv.game-shows/NxNWJ08-zWM/Gg8liIWMeFgJ), though it makes no mention of being for April Fool's Day (the mention of "President Ford" further supporting this).

So whenever this episode aired during the year, this likely makes it 1975 or 1976. (I know the story makes no reference as to model of car, but now that the recollection is up, it has me thinking the car offered was a Ford Mustang II, which was a fairly common prize during that era.)

You forgot the 2009 episode where Mimi was a model:
This episode is also where Manuela became a permanent part of the cast.

Also neat to see the "old format" playing of Gas Money here.
